Itachi, the wise...
According to the manga, at the age of 7, Itachi's wisdom was on par with that of a Hokage, as said by the Hokage who has spent the most time as Hokage, by far:
And once again, this is Hiruzen who was speaking, who lived during Hashirama and Tobirama's reign as Hokage, and Minato's reign of Hokage.
So, don't say Itachi wasn't anything special before he got the sharingan (which he got at age 8). He was clearly some hot stuff.

Re: Itachi, the wise...
Itachi certainly had the intelligence. He would have been a hokage had the uchiha massacre not occurred. I'm still surprised that the uchiha were more compassionate than the senju.

Hiruzen just recently learned that Tsunade became Hokage.
He was referring to Minato, himself, Hashirama, and Tobirama's wisdom.

Don't worry. I don't really "like" any other character than Tobirama. It's just something that I spotted.

so wise that he thought it was the best move to torture brutalize and torment a small child and manipulate him into embracing pain hatred and misery all to have him avenge a clan that apparently deserved it.

I don't know if that's the correct translation, but he is pretty smart, but I doubt he was on par with Shikaku.

His reasoning...
His ****ing reasoning...
He can make the hard decisions, he can't beat Tsunade no diff without Sharingan at 7 because he has good REASONING.
STOP TRYING TO HYPE THAT STUPID ****** UP

MangaStream comes out after MangaPanda due in part to the better translations.
Still on par with the Hokage that Hiruzen was referring to (himself, Minato, Tobirama and Hashirama).

You misinterpreted my intentions, good fellow.
Whoever goes to say that he can beat Tsunade without his sharingan at the age of 7 albeit having wisdom on par with Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, and Minato is out of their mind. I'm just saying that he's shown to be incredibly wise long before the age many even become shinobi (heck, he probably wasn't even one yet, he graduated at age 7 as well).

The one that would have happened had it not been for Obito. Acquire a considerable amount of strength due to this determination, and get praise for killing a shinobi everyone believed to be a criminal, Itachi Uchiha.

sasuke acquired a brutal ruthless loner personality thanks ot itachi. when he got to the final itachi fight he'd already become a national criminal and almost killed a comrade. not to mention sakura on the rooftop.

do you think orochimaru would be let back into konoha if he took out itachi? sasuke took down oro and no one said anything. not even a pardon. even worse that they thought oro was gone for good and was a greater more destructive threat than itachi who left well enough alone after killing uchihas, for the most part.
the citizens of konoha and elders arent as forgiving as naruto and tsunade. they can easily overrule her and have sasuke killed. if sasuke resisted it would be all the more evidence he cant be trusted. itachi failed to take this into account. they abused naruto even though naruto is innocent of kyuubi's crimes and a hero

That's a lie, its well known that people were talking about it..
after he killed Itachi we even saw ninjas in the bar talking and saying that Sasuke should come hope and be seen as a hero for getting rid of such a criminal
Without a doubt Itachi's plan would have worked had tobi not intervened.. Sasuke would have had NOTHING more to hate. and his only goal would be the revival and remaking of his clan.... Which is why it was necessary Itachi shouldered ALL the blame, to save the reputation of the clan

fodders and who cares? elders overrule tsunade if they felt sasuke couldnt be trusted. danzo already tried to have him killed. many ninjas would be merely unhappy they didnt take each other out.
Without a doubt Itachi's plan would have worked had tobi not intervened.. Sasuke would have had NOTHING more to hate
except the entire village once they ostracise and mistrust him for his crimes. they abused naruto who had no choice but to be the jin. sasuke chose to join konohas greatest enemy. even neji thought sasuke had gone over to the darkness. and post skip only naruto and sakura wanted him back. sai explained that most people including him thought sasuke was a selfish traitor who was only after power.

Nana. When he got to the final fight with Itachi, he had already killed a well known criminal, Orochimaru.
He also made up in his mind not to kill anyone, Suigetsu even referenced him being a 'leaf ninja'. Which is a testament to his 'softness' at the time.
Also, Sasuke made it clear to Itachi that he wasn't going to kill a friend for the sake of more power, as he believed Itachi did. In retrospect, Sasuke's aim was to be everything Itachi wasn't, because he hated everything Itachi was. Like I said, had it not been for Obito.
He did kinda have a loner personality, but he was a rather gentle soul. I would say he was far from 'evil' or 'bad'.
Later.

sasuke if he had his way would have killed naruto for the MS. but naruto regenerated. cant say itachi is omniscient and knew sasuke would fight a friend who can do that. the very act itachi wanted him to do would have made him as bad as everyone believed itachi to be, via killing comrades.
Also, Sasuke made it clear to Itachi that he wasn't going to kill a friend for the sake of more power
after having a moment to reflect. he should have killed naruto with that chidori in the lung in the heat of battle, but kurama intervened.
Sasuke's aim was to be everything Itachi wasn't, because he hated everything Itachi was
he left the village just like itachi. he attacked his friends just like itachi. he joined criminals just like itachi. the only difference between the two was sasuke refused to kill a defenceless unconscious kid whereas itachi slaughtered several
but he was a rather gentle soul.

(link fail. it was sasuke chidori'ing naruto)
would say he was far from 'evil' or 'bad'.
so perfectly sane and noble upright people join orochimaru just for power?
