they dont let just any old fodder into akatsuki. plus hes no more one dimensional than the likes of A, mifune and tsunade. immortality + one hit kill curse beats just about any jounin with no intel.

Tbh, that sounds believable. Everything after Naruto's nature control training seems rushed. All side characters weren't developed for the timeskip and we are now into a war that needs them. Either editors wanted Naruto to be finished faster or Kishi did.
