Luffy's new moves(manga only)
I've been thinking about what kind of moves Luffy can develop.
So I've come up with one: liquified rubber. With Gear Second and Red Hawk, he already knows how to heat up the rubber. With liquified rubber, he can create anything with his arms, theoretically, everything from a sword to an axe, but for him to do this, he needs to learn how to cool down the rubber as well, or use haki to contain it, or else he'll just become, well, liquid. This is extremely far fetched though, I see that. It's just a theory, and a conversation starter
Do you guys have any thoughts on what his next moves could be?

He heats up his hand until it's covered in flames, using Gear Second

Yeah, you're probably right. But when he uses Red Hawk, he covers his hand in Armament Haki first though. It's just a theory though, didn't say it was a good one, just trying to get the ball rolling :P

Why is this manga only? Anyways, that seems too Terminator 2-ish for Oda to use.

I just wrote it so it wouldn't potentially spoil any anime-only watchers

Seems plausible. Afrer all, he's almost up to his limits of strengthening previous techs. So it makes sense of him to create new ones from scratch.

Hehe, would be kinda cool. But I think Luffy needs to learn how to use a real weapon too, and incorporate that into his moves, like Whitebead and his binto or whatever it's called again. He'll have a hard time fighting Mihawk(Zoro's opponent though) and such, if he can't stretch out his limbs in fear of getting them cut off

Yeah, I think most of his techs have reached their limits. Unless he will be able to blend 2nd and 3rd Gear though, and use 'Gigant Red Hawk' or something :P

I wouldn't mind if he came up with one of these techniques actually, and it's soon time for him to get some new ones

Re: Luffy's new moves(manga only)
95% of luffy's moves have to do with varies of guns and firarms, so expect another gun move that is stronger than a magnum.

Think of Magellan. His fruit is actually a paramecia, so it could work

Most likely. But his axe kick could actually be amplified to a real axe, which would be awesome.
As for his firearm attacks, I foresee the next will be called 'Atom Bomb'! He uses Gear 3rd, puts his hands straight in the air, locks them together with Armament, then smashes down with all his might! :D

Re: Luffy's new moves(manga only)
It's plausible, but the downside is Luffy wouldn't be able to return to solid form.

He can just heat liquify whatever he has changed, back to normal later

Re: Luffy's new moves(manga only)
Since I think Luffy and Akainu will fight eventually, Luffy would need something to counter Akainu's magma. I'm thinking of two possibilities: armament haki improvement or....plasma
Now what I mean by armament haki improvement is that he harden's his body to a certain degree that attains a high durability of that of metals that can withstand magma like iron which would greatly help Luffy in fighting the Akainu.
Now the plasma thing, I do believe it's possible to achieve such a state well not to an extent as a giant sun, but to smaller degree.
The way you create plasma is if you take gas and add enough thermal energy it'll drive electrons off the gas atoms and ionize and those atoms become plasma. So the steam that Luffy gives off in gear second can be used as that gas and since his body
is really hot when in gear second, it traps heat inside the body so that heat can be used as the thermal
energy needed to ionize the gas atoms in the steam to create plasma.
I hope that makes sense lol

The explanation doesn't make too much sense to me, since I don't really know about that stuff, but I see what you're getting at, and that's a really good thought! But what kind of powers would that give him? Some sort of electricity, or something that's even hotter than magma?

Well plasma is actually hotter than magma. That's where I based my idea from.

That's pretty good. I was checking out on silicone as well, which can withstand degrees from -55 C - +300 C. What if Luffy was able to harden himself to the extent that he would be able to handle Akainu's magma for defense, then use plasma for offense? Then he would kill him in the same manner Akainu killed Ace eventually

Re: Luffy's new moves(manga only)
His body is rubber and he can use speed. The only upgrade i think is to make his conquerers haki so powerful that even akainu would collapse.
Isnt it would be great?
