When did Naruto surpass Jiraiya ?

I've seen a lot of members disagree on this, some say that Fukasaku was referring to overall abilities when he said Naruto had surpassed him vs Pain, but others say that he was only referring to SM

Anyways, what's your opinion, when did Naruto surpass the Legendary Pervert Frog Sage of the Sannin ?

Hmmmm ... with SM, KM, and BM I would say, yes, he has surpassed Jiraiya. At least in power.

As far as jutsu variety and battle experience, Jiraiya would still be on top though.

So:

Power: Naruto (+1)
Speed: Naruto (+1)
Jutsu: Tie
Experience: Jiraiya (+1)
Plot: Naruto (+1)

Naruto: 3
Jiraiya: 1

So yes, he has surpassed Jiraiya.

I don't believe it to be the moment he mastered sage mode... People, underrate Jiraiya in my eyes.

I would say it depends, purely because i doubt that Naruto would be able to use summons, considering that they've know jiraiya allot longer so it's unlikely they will even enter the fight, which is a disadvantage to Naruto. Then again, Jiraiya can't enter sage mode without Maa & Paa, so i guess if they were on his side, then i believe jiraiya would have a good chance.

Jiraiya may not have mastered Sage mode the the same degree as Naruto, however, Jiraiya has a vast amount of experience and jutsu, not to mention he knows how Naruto think's and operates, he was his trainer after all.

Naruto had time to prepare for the battle, by having sage mode clones stand by which was a massive advantage for him, since he at the time was only able to go in to sage mode for 5 mintues...

It's impossible to say because there are allot of conditions that you would have to take in to account, such as does maa & Paa help him go into sage mode, would they use genjutsu...

This is them 1 on 1, however... Overall i believe he surpassed him when he learned Kyubbi mode, however... At this point in moment i believe he would beat him while in Sage mode because he's got experience and has learned how to use sage mode more sufficiently, although i doubt he surpassed him the moment he learned sage mode.

Let me remind you, he surpassed his father in jutsu's and sage mode, Not in speed.

Now Naruto speed is Superior to anyone else. Him going in to version two at the pain's fight should be enough to tell you these things. The only logical reason why pain traded blows is because, Pain was using Corps to fight with the legendary Rennigan. ( Notices in the recent Animation, Nagato took a blow from be and Naruto using tail beast and he survive because it was edo.

A good writer gives the character there own words that fit with their personality, thus different characters having mixed opinions...

Maybe characters have said different things, so by using your logic kish is contradicting himself.

By your views i can say Naruto is not the fastest Ninja, and "A" was making things up.

You're right, a good writer gives character their own words, but at the sametime, they use words that are factual when the writer also creates hints. If i went with your logical i would have been one of the people who said "tobi" was not Obito, when in fact, kishi created hints along the way and people went in the other direction. ( which is what writers like doing often, not in this case) Kishi establish that Naruto was strong with hints

1. He allowed his characters to says "Jiriaya, had a hard time developing the sage mode"
2. He allowed his characters to says" Jiriaya, could not gathered Natural energy on his own"
3. He established Naruto mastered, every single jutsu handed down to him faster.
4. He establish Naruto, can allow his clones to gathered energy for him, while he is in sage mode.
5. Must i even mention the Rasengan shuriken?
6. Kishi clearly showed Naruto, had more arsenal in sage mode than jiriaya ever did.
7. What took years of training for jiriaya took Naruto a Month.
8. He solo'ed Pain. (kyuuby is apart of his powers)
9. If a writer constantly says over and over again, the "main" character is stronger, dude just stop contradicting

The big difference people don't seem to understand with kishi, when he makes a statement saying something with hints...he is not bsing. When he makes statement without hints serveral times, without pointing in another direction he is trolling.
