Sasuke wasn't trying to kill Karin

I think Sasuke was not trying to kill Karin.

First, he told her not to move, because he was aiming for a non-vital spot.

What many of you may be asking is why, if Sasuke didn't want to kill her, he was approaching her with his Chidori.

The answer is this.

Sasuke was going to use his chidori to cauterize Karin's stab wound. A fire style jutsu would be too imprecise, but his chidori is much more exact and concentrated.
When he told Sakura to kill Karin, that was a trap to kill Sakura.

Your first point is highly probable. The second tho, idk. Kinda hard to justify a chidori and Sasuke was cold hearted in that arc anyway so him trying to help her was unlikely

i totally disagree. sasuke had no regard for karins' life. He told her to stay still so he could take a good aim at danzo while fooling her simultaneously into thinking he was taking the best possible shot at danzo while avoiding her. Then again, he tried to finish her off when he realized she had no use for him again, saw her as a liability

i understand your trying to still believe that Sasuke still has a heart but the look in his eyes were just straight evil....and karin was helpful to him with her healing technique and to clear it up she did not die she is in the leaf village prison from what i remember

While he probably didn't actively wanted to kill her, he also didn't care that she was used as a hostage. To him, she was nothing more than a slight burden that stood between him and a part of his revenge. If he hadn't wanted to kill her, he would have figured out another way to attack.
Instead he had no problems stabbing her together with Danzo. I can agree that he hadn't wanted to actively kill her, but it's obvious that he didn't care about her at that moment.

And I'm pretty sure he really meant to kill her with his Chidori afterwards. Back then he wasn't really sane and I really doubt he would have thought of cauterizing Karin's wound.

If Sakura hadn't healed Karin she would have died. Sasuke doesn't care about anything other than his revenge.
