Itachi > Hashiarama Clarification!!!

OK, I've been an Itachi fan since Sasuke first told Kakashi that he wanted to kill his brother because he murdered the Uchiha clan. I'm definitely not a bandwagon Itachi fan and he's always been my favorite character. There have been numerous threads about who Itachi is stronger than and vice versa. I think we need to clearly define what it means to be strong because people clearly have differing opinions on its definition.

Strength isn't defined by how much chakra you have, how many jutsus you know, who knows the most powerful jutsu, physical strength, etc. When people ask the question "Which character is stronger," that is another way of asking "Which character possesses the ability to emerge victorious in a battle." This includes many other factors, all of which help determine which of the characters will win in a fight. So of course Naruto has more chakra than Itachi, of course Hashirama has more powerful jutsus than Itachi, and of course you will always find a shinobi that is better than Itachi at something; but altogether, there aren't too many characters that have the overall ability to defeat him.

As far as who is "stronger" between Hashirama and Itachi, we still have yet to see him in action so I believe it is too early to tell. Yes...I know Hashirama and Tobirama fought Hiruzen a long time ago but we all know they were being controlled and they weren't at full power so I don't count that.

Itachi has never be called a god in the manga. Hashirama has. Out of the current living shinobi, more knew of Itachis powers and most seeminlgy thought of Hashirama as the god still.

Dude if he was able to convince his strongest opponents (the uchiha) to join him. I'm pretty sure he can easly convince sasuke to like him . Also he meant itachis character is better he said nothing about his strength or abilities.... He dosent evin know what itachi can do. He's never evin seen him. All he knows is what sasuke said and that's not enought to determine who's better. your takeing way further than it needs to be.

I think hashi was referring to itachi being a better shinobi than him because of the extreme lengths he went to protect the village. Not by his actual strength. Hashi is still stronger

What Hasirama meant was that in terms of doing what he can for the village, Itachi went and did an action above Hashirama's (only had to fight Madara where Itachi killed family).

And yes, strength is determined by more than just power. Will also plays a factor, but I would say Hashirama has a crap load of that too !

Hashirama is overall stronger than Itachi, but Hashirama praised the selflessnes that Itachi displayed with is a nice nod to the martyr.
