Introduction:

The Hyuga clan is one of the four noble clans of Konoha as well as the oldest clan. All of it’s members possess the Byakugan, a kekkei genkai dojutsu that gives them extended fields of vision and the ability to see through solid objects and even the chakra*circulatory system, amongst other things, and expel chakra from any of the Chakra points in their body. They take advantage of these abilities, they created the Gentle Fist fighting style, allowing them to use their Chakra with ease for both offense and defense.

The Uchiha clan was one of the four noble clans of Konoha as well, and was also reputed to be the village's most powerful clan after the Senju. Together with the Senju clan, they founded Konoha. Most members of the clan are able to use Fire-Syle techniques by a young age. They posses the kekkai genkai dojutsu known as the Sharingan, which manifests in certain individuals, and it allows for them to copy an opponents jutsus & cast genjutsu, among other things.

But as for who is strongest between the Hyuga clan and Uchiha clan, it really just depends on who has the kekkei genkai and how the person uses it. Having a Sharingan doesn’t guarantee you victory anyways and neither does Byakugan.

Clan Strengths:

When the strength of the Uchiha CLAN is usually talked about, the first character’s whom Uchiha fan boys mention are characters like Madara, Izuna, Itachi, Sasuke, Shisui, & Obito, all whom have either the Mangekyo Sharingan or Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

So, whenever a clan, like the Hyuga, or a person, like Naruto, is said to be stronger than ______ Uchiha or the Uchiha clan in general, people instantly start defending the Uchiha by using the previously-mentioned Uchihas, all whom, as I stated before, have either the Mangekyo Sharingan or Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

So why is this? We’re not just talking about the (E)MS users among the Uchiha, we’re talking about the clan in general, meaning all those fodders that Itachi & Obito killed with ease, not just the prodigies of the Uchiha clan.
There have only been a mere 6 six MS users, with only 2 being EMS users, in the entire history of the Uchiha clan. Sasuke & Madara are the only two Uchihas who have ever managed to complete the Sharingan.

Which is a disadvantage when compared to the Hyuga, because unlike the Uchiha Clan, everybody in the clan of the Hyuuga is capable of reaching a level like Hiashi & Neji .
Their techniques are not secrets among the clan, unlike the Uchiha, where very few know of the Mangekyo Sharingan. Also, mastering the Hyuga techniques doesn't require them going crazy and mental in the head.

Taijutsu & Speed Weakness:

As of now, only TWO members of the Uchiha (Madera & Sasuke) have gained the ability to use the Sharingan to it‘s full extent. However, even with this, the Uchiha’s one weakness remains to be Taijutsu, as stated by Madara, which explains why Tsunade was pwning Madara.

That Is until he used Hashirama’s Wood style.

It also explains why Lee completely fodderized Sasuke during the Chunnin Exams and, recently, now Madara.

So which clan exactly specializes in Taijutsu? The Hyuga clan, that’s who.

They don’t just use regular Taijutsu, they use a fighting style that can only be done with those with Byakugan, which has better insight than the Sharingan, meaning being able to analyze situations more carefully. The Sharingan is capable of seeing Chakra and telling what colour it is, but with the Byakugan, you get this AND the ability of X-Ray vision, near 360 degrees around the user, and being able to see the entire Chakra network.

Hyuga’s also have the ability for amazing chakra control, being able to release chakra from ANY chakra point in their bodies, something highly skilled Jonins have trouble doing, most Shinobi are only capable of releasing chakra through only certain areas, like their hands or feet. This Chakra Control allows them to push anything coming towards them, from side, front, or back. This ability also is what let’s them use the Heavenly Rotation Technique.

Hyuuga‘s have incredible speed when it comes to attacking the Chakra points on their opponents bodies, as demonstrated by Neji. All it takes is the slightiest of openings, and that‘s all there is to it.

As soon as they make contact with one Gentle Fist, they can continue with a barage of more Gentle Fists‘s. That's why the perfect counterattack against the Uchiha are the Hyuuga, and other Speed & Taijutsu-based Shinobi, like A, Naruto, & Lee.

That's the way the Hyuuga Clan can be considered better than the Uchiha, since any of the main House can take on Sasuke or Obito, or any other main Uchiha (except Edo Madara) without much.

If the rest of the Uchiha‘s were alive, none of them could take on a Hyuuga, since not everybody had MS, not to mention the EMS. Only a few can awaken these eyes. But with the Hyuuga Clan, anybody is capable of reaching the same level as Hiashi & Neji.

Chakra Pools & Stamina:

Neji is more than enough to take down some one like Itachi. Now I know that may be a bold statement, but Neji is no push over, I guarantee you that.
Itachi never had such great stamina, yet Uchiha/Itachi fans say he is unbeatable thanks to the Yata Mirror and the Totsuka Blade. But these weapons take a hella of a toll on Itachi’s chakra levels.

If this was the case for Itachi, he could just go around, using his MS techs left and right, from the legendary weapons he has, to Susuno’ O, Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi. Why would he use Gen & Tai jutsu and not just stick with these “unbeatable” MS techs?

Sasuke himself has said that Sasuno‘ O consumes a lot of Chakra, and the Uchiha are not known for having strong bodies, that goes to the Uzumaki & Senju, that is aside from the case of if they are powered up by Senju DNA, like Obito and Madara.

The Hyuuga on the other hand are not constantly using their chakra up in huge chunks like the Uchiha, and they use it in small amounts, enough to perform a Gentle fist or other techs to win.

Gen-Jutsu:

Hyuga's can't get caught in Genjutsu since they can fight with eyes closed. In the case they do get caught in a a gen-jutsu, they can easily tell if they're under a Genjutsu thanks to their Byakugan, as shown by Ao. With Their X, 360 degree, and extended vision, the Hyugas can both close their eyes, to prevent getting caught in Genjutsu of the Sharingan, and still see where their opponent is and exactly what they’re doing.

Neji VS Sasuke - Countering Mangekyo Sharingan

Let’s have Neji of the Hyuga and put him up against Sasuke of the Uchiha,. To escape Neji’s Techniques, Sasuke would primary rely on Sasuno‘ O, since, as I stated before, Uchiha‘s can’t do much when it comes to fighting a Taijutsu Specialist.

Any long-range attacks, like Fire Style: Great Fire Ball Techniue or Lightening Style: Chidori Needles, can easily be deflected by Neji‘s Eight Trigrams: Heavenly Rotation Technique.

I honestly have no trouble even in saying that an Air Palm Technique would be powerful enough for a Sasuno’ O. Just take a look at what a NON-KYUUBI CLOAKED Hiashi did to the Juubi’s arm with an Air Palm.

Heavenly Rotation, which works in a similar fashion to Almighty Push, would be capable of stopping Amaterasu.

All it would take would be good eyesight and reaction speed, which Neji has. So Sasuke goes uses , Amaterasu, Chidori & Chidori Variants, all of those will get deflected by Heavenly Rotation. Heavenly Rotation was also said to be a stronger defense than Gaara’s Sand. And during the Five Kage Summit ARC, Gaara was shown stopping Sasuke’s Amaterasu with his Sand.

Uchiha Madara - The One Exception:

With Edo Madara, however, this obviously would hold no results at all. For one, his abilities are greatly enhanced through his Senju DNA and his Edo body, as his chakra can’t run out and he doesn’t have any internal organs that could be damaged through the Gentle Fist Art, and it‘s apparent he doesn‘t, as he should have been cut in half like Tsunade was when Lee split him in half.

So Edo Madara is the only Uchiha who could be said is stronger than a Hyuga. However, almost all other living Uchiha would would find it difficult when it comes to fighting a Hyuga.

Conclusion:

From what we've seen, Hyuuga>Uchiha. But this doesn’t mean the Hyuga > Uchiha as a clan, it merely means Hyuga > Uchiha when it’s between them alone. What do I mean by This?

Well, let’s take Uchiha X & Hyuga X. Now, we’ll have Uchiha X & Hyuga X both fight a Water Style user, which one is more likely to win? The Uchiha member, not the Hyuga member.
If we have Uchiha X & Hyuga X fight an Aburame clan member, Which one is more likely to win? The Uchiha member, not the Hyuga member.
If we have Uchiha X & Hyuga X fight an Earth-Style user, which one would be more likely to win? The Uchiha member, not the Hyuga member.

What I’m trying to say is, when it comes to fighting other Shinobi, the Uchiha are more superior than the Hyuga, but when it comes to the Hyuga, they will lose.

Think of the Uchiha as fire and the Hyuga as water.

Fire can burn through wood, grass, plants, clothing, paper, silk, fur, skin and other things.
But Water can’t do much to any of these objects, aside from getting them wet.
However, when it comes to Water VS Fire, Water will easily take out the Fire.

You are mistaken when you say that any Hyuuga can reach Neji or Hiashi's level. Hiashi even stated himself that no Hyuuga had been given as much of the clan's KKG power as Neji [1]

And while I do agree with you about the fact that the average Hyuuga could beat the average Uchiha, Neji is not beating Sasuke, nor Itachi, you're wrong about that. Also, while Hyuuga may be able to tell if they're under a Genjutsu, it doesn't in any way guarantee that they can get out of it. Ao couldn't since he's not a Hyuga, Hyuga's are able to control their chakra, so if they knew they're in a genjutsu, they could control their chakra so as to escape the genjutsu.

Air Palm is tanked by Susanoo with little effort and no damage at all. V2 Susanoo took on Kirin, an Air Palm isn't doing anything to it.

Sharingan Genjutsu needs direct eye contact, Hyuga's closing their eyes than seeing through with X-Ray vision, will keep them safe.

That's you comparing the Juubi's arm to a Susanoo, that's dumb. The Juubi is strong, the Juubi's arm is just its arm. Also a pushing effect isn't the same effect as a destructive effect which is needed to break Susanoo.

Just having a Kekkei genkai doesn't mean you are stronger than any other. Having a byakugan doesn't guarantee you winning against an average sharingan. It really depends on who uses the kekkei genkai. The shinobi himself/herself.

The Uchiha were famous for their powerful chakra, exceptionally strong techniques, and natural aptitude for anything combat-related. The clan possessed an innate aptitude for Fire Release nature transformation, with even the youngest of members able to use it from just observation.

In the case they do get caught in a a gen-jutsu, they can easily tell if they're under a Genjutsu thanks to their Byakugan, as shown by Ao. With Their X, 360 degree, and extended vision, the Hyugas can both close their eyes, to prevent getting caught in Genjutsu of the Sharingan, and still see where their opponent is and exactly what they’re doing.

Neji VS Sasuke - Countering Mangekyo Sharingan

Let’s have Neji of the Hyuga and put him up against Sasuke of the Uchiha,. To escape Neji’s Techniques, Sasuke would primary rely on Sasuno‘ O, since, as I stated before, Uchiha‘s can’t do much when it comes to fighting a Taijutsu Specialist.

Any long-range attacks, like Fire Style: Great Fire Ball Techniue or Lightening Style: Chidori Needles, can easily be deflected by Neji‘s Eight Trigrams: Heavenly Rotation Technique.

I honestly have no trouble even in saying that an Air Palm Technique would be powerful enough for a Sasuno’ O. Just take a look at what a NON-KYUUBI CLOAKED Hiashi did to the Juubi’s arm with an Air Palm.

Heavenly Rotation, which works in a similar fashion to Almighty Push, would be capable of stopping Amaterasu.

All it would take would be good eyesight and reaction speed, which Neji has. So Sasuke goes uses , Amaterasu, Chidori & Chidori Variants, all of those will get deflected by Heavenly Rotation. Heavenly Rotation was also said to be a stronger defense than Gaara’s Sand. And during the Five Kage Summit ARC, Gaara was shown stopping Sasuke’s Amaterasu with his Sand.

Uchiha Madara - The One Exception:

With Edo Madara, however, this obviously would hold no results at all. For one, his abilities are greatly enhanced through his Senju DNA and his Edo body, as his chakra can’t run out and he doesn’t have any internal organs that could be damaged through the Gentle Fist Art, and it‘s apparent he doesn‘t, as he should have been cut in half like Tsunade was when Lee split him in half.

So Edo Madara is the only Uchiha who could be said is stronger than a Hyuga. However, almost all other living Uchiha would would find it difficult when it comes to fighting a Hyuga.

Conclusion:

From what we've seen, Hyuuga>Uchiha. But this doesn’t mean the Hyuga > Uchiha as a clan, it merely means Hyuga > Uchiha when it’s between them alone. What do I mean by This?

Well, let’s take Uchiha X & Hyuga X. Now, we’ll have Uchiha X & Hyuga X both fight a Water Style user, which one is more likely to win? The Uchiha member, not the Hyuga member.
If we have Uchiha X & Hyuga X fight an Aburame clan member, Which one is more likely to win? The Uchiha member, not the Hyuga member.
If we have Uchiha X & Hyuga X fight an Earth-Style user, which one would be more likely to win? The Uchiha member, not the Hyuga member.
If we have Uchiha X & Hyuga X fight a Senju clan member, Which one is more likely to win? The Uchiha member, not the Hyuga.

What I’m trying to say is, when it comes to fighting other Shinobi, the Uchiha are more superior than the Hyuga, but when it comes to the Hyuga, they will lose.

Think of the Uchiha as fire and the Hyuga as water.

Fire can burn through wood, grass, plants, clothing, paper, silk, fur, skin and other things.
But Water can’t do much to any of these objects, aside from getting them wet.
However, when it comes to Water VS Fire, Water will easily take out the Fire.

That's you comparing the Juubi's arm to a Susanoo, that's dumb. The Juubi is strong, the Juubi's arm is just its arm. Also a pushing effect isn't the same effect as a destructive effect which is needed to break Susanoo.

Air Palm is tanked by Susanoo unless you think its destructive power is greater than Kirin's.

Let me say this, if the Juubi's arm was pushed back by a Air Palm, what would the effect be against a Sasuno' O, something much smaller than the Juubi's arm.

Not really, Susanoo arms strength and speed trumps Neji in Taijutsu and do you know why they all Taijutsu users are fighting Madara? Madara only said Taijutsu is the only way to beat him not that its his weakness, there's a difference.
