I would agree that your average byakugan user > average 3 tamoe user or even byakugan > 3tamoe sharingan but in general uchiha have more potential. I can't imagine any of the byakugan users we've seen can beat a mangekyo sharingan user from what we've seen

I can't really say I agree nor disagree. Can't say that an average Hyuga can beat an average Uchiha. You're stating that just because the clan was wiped out by TWO of the clans most powerful Uchiha in Itachi and Obito that, that means all of them were weak when if they were that weak, the Leaf wouldn't have feared them.

And what's to say the entire Hyuga clan couldn't be wiped out by someone like Neji or his uncle? Last time I checked, they put these "Curse Marks" on the Hyuga from the side branch for a reason. Remember, the last people you expect to turn on you are those of your own blood. The Uchiha didn't once predict that Itachi would kill all of them. Of course, they didn't trust him.

Now, I won't even bring up anyone from the Hyuga clan facing anyone of the top tier Uchiha because it'd be pointless. None of them can defeat any of the top tier Uchiha.

That's the way the Hyuuga Clan can be considered better than the Uchiha, since any of the main House can take on Sasuke or Obito, or any other main Uchiha (except Edo Madara) without much.

Given the fact that have the potential to get an (E)MS its obvious that the Uchiha have more potential lol. Like Zetsu said "A jutsu is only as good as the user to posses it" Meaning that a skilled byakugan can look into where the chakra is being form and react accordingly. AKA the sharingan uses chakra when activated, MS uses a lot of chakra (thank god for EMS lol) focusing that much chakra into the eyes would let a Byakguan user know that they are about to launch some powerful shit against them.

You are pitting the top Hyugas(i.e. Neji,Hiashi) against an average Uchiha....Sure they would win,but when it comes to any of the MS users shown,Hyugas will lose(take note that I am including not only the MS abilities,but their additional jutsus and intelligence too.)
Hyugas are definitely strong,but on an average of clans,nothing can be said as no uchiha other than 5 or 6 have been shown and not to mention that uchihas were not weak,but they were assassinated by a prodigy(Itachi) and overpowered shinobi(Obito) which are both pretty strong.

First off Madara only stated taijutsu was the only thing that could take him out simply because he can absorb nin jutsu
Also have you not been watching this series? Uchiha are capable of learning all types of combat and hyuga are stuck to close range.

Also you have to realize that Madara didnt just take a regular taijutsu punch. He took a direct hit from Tsunade the strongest puncher in the show 10 fold. No way in hell a "Gentle Fist" going to bust through Susanoo and through Madara Chest

Lastly the only way hyuga could beat an Uchiha is if he has 2 tomes. Once he has the third tome( Tome that predicts movements before the move is made and instinctively allows them to counter) hyuga would lose 10 times out of 10

A Hyuga needs to come close enough in order to turn off a person's Chakra system and Susanoo being made of Chakra doesn't mean they can stop the Susanoo just by touching it...they need go throw the Susanoo with pure force and no Hyuuga has enough force to go throw Ribcage Susanoo let alone any other form of Susanoo.....the Byakugan is like an x-ray which see throw your whole boy in other words it helps a Hyuga see the flow of their opponent's Chakra system then that will help them hit the right places to turn off the system of their Chakra, but since Susanoo is made by the users Chakra then they need to go throw the Susanoo itself and then turn off their Chakra in other words a Hyuga can't do anything against Susanoo or it's weapons.

Amaterasu

There is nothing a Hyuug can do about this Jutsu obviously since you need a great speed like BM Naruto or Minato or the Railkage and those guys are the fastest ninjas to ever live and no Hyuga is nowhere their speed which the mean reason why a Hyuga is useless against just an attack...Amaterasu hits the place where the user's sight is focused on which makes it difficult to dodge...even if a Hyuga was to react fast enough to do Rotation then the Amaterasu will still burn throw the Rotation since it's made of Chakra and kill the person...Amaterasu has soon it can burn throw Chakra it's whhich an example when Sasuke fought the Railkage who had a Bijuu level Chakra and it's still burn throw he's armor which was made of a Chakra and when Sasuke used Katon on Itachi and Itachi used the Amaterasu to burn the Katon which also made of Chakra...it other words the Hyugas don't have the speed to dodge Amaterasu and their Rotation is useless since Amaterasu can burn Chakra itself.

Genjutsu

Nothing in the Manga states that Genjusu or Tsukuyomi is useless against a Hyuga so until then they get one-shot with it....Itachi already stated only a bloodline of the Uchiha can hope to break throw Tsukuomi even a Sharingan users like Danzo and Kakashi were caught in Genjutsu without even knowing they were in one...Uchiha Genjutsu are instant especially Itachi's Genjutsu which means you're dead or defeated in that instant you were put under that Genjutsu...closing your eyes is even more useless since you can't use your Byakugan and will be too blind to fight a powerful foe.
