I concur.
I like the animal summons, Human Path, chibaku tensei, King of Hell and all of that EXCEPT for the mechanical one, total wtfable.. that one was far left in the field.

I think it's pretty cool, the Rinnegan is boss. Nothing like being in control of the laws of push and pull, a robot with two heads and 4 arms, sucking up anything chakra based, reviving people, summoning OP animals, and taking souls. What more can you ask for?

The Byakugan is the theme of insight

The Sharingan has themes of darkness and power

The Rinnegan has the themes of life and death. Death exhibited by the Asura Path: all the weapons symbolizing the destructive power of war, the Naraka and Human paths associate with death of an individual and the underworld

Life associated with the animals of the Animal Path, Life forces of mature represented by Deva paths control basically of gravitational forces. The Preta Path's taking in of chakra somewhat reflects how nature is all the same despite its various forms (different elemental techs).

I agree that the techs aren't exactly revolving around the eyes (the only ones close to it are the Preta and Deva paths), but when you think about it the abilities all come from the eyes lol!

Don't forget that you should actually advance from sharingan to get rinnegan, so the user gets such mastery over jutsus that he can use gravity fields etc

that's just me, though.
If mechanical stuff or technology stuff in an old world style like the Narutoverse tickles your nuts, well, cool beans...

This is why I THINK that the Byakugan is cooler and more unique because its abilities are directly related to what an EYE technique should be visual Jutsu x-ray vision, long range vision, 360 degree vision, Gives color to chakra, blah blah blah hahaha. Even the MS kind of strays away from the whole Dojutsu idea and some of it's abilties have nothing to do with being a visual jutsu. Although they are really cool techniques lol

can't say i'm a big fan of eyes having so much power, i think that should have stopped with the base byakugan and copy sharingan... that said the powers are pretty cool, albeit ridiculous.

Well maybe you could say it offers more insight on ninjutsu. I mean Nagato pulled off some things that seemed pretty abnormal compared to regular ninjutsu standards even when disregarding the paths. I think the 5 elements fit into that category too.
