Can Amaterasu actually kill an edo ?

Is it possible that an edo can be killed by AMA ? I'm talking about an edo with no way to escape it like shinra tensei . What would really have happened to Nagato if he didn't shinra it off . Why would he even need to shinra it off if he knew he was an edo ? Does this mean that the
Black flames will eventually somehow burn forever and kill the edo ? Or does this mean that they would simply be in an infinite burn and an infinite healin process ?

Unless you're Nagato (shinra tensei), yes it can because it eliminates your existence or whatever material is being used

Not really, the ammateratsu flame burns until there is nothing left, after that it expels. Then the edo body will just regenerate back to it's original form.

And for the record, edos are already dead! They say the only way to stop them is by stopping the jutsu or sealing them.... Actually we would need to see itachi doing amaterasu on someone else... but then how would a edo tensei body resist to amaterasu without shinra tensei. Unless it infinitely regenerates from nothing, but i don't think thats the case

after that time the edo regenerate. but till then it is unable to move, so it counts as beaten.

I'm thinking this aswel yeah. One could agrue that because the edo will continue to regen fast enough it continue to burn forever thus renedering him/her useless but it doesn't kill them.

one problem though, edo's are immortal, they'll just reform.

I think Amaterasu can...if you review that chap you ll notice that edo nagato was almost burning to nothing P.S it was stated that Amaterasu can burn forever if the user chooses to let it burn so Amaterasu on ever edo would stop it only if the fire continue burning it...

I think edos are more like made up of ashes so it would be a problem if their whole body start burning affecting their visuals and other parts and also it would burn for infinitely so they would avoid it.......
Another method is to cut your body part with the fire like raikage did hence the part may regenerate as we are currently talking about edos.

Well one think we all didn't know is that manga or kishi never said only seals can work and even if anyone said it in the manga I wont blame the person cause it not every one in the manga that knows how Amaterasu works or what it can do P.S even if they knew where are the gonna get a user ???

Nagato didn't shut off Amaterasu with Shinra Tensei. You must have been been wrong anime.
Amaterasu burned Edo Body completely only then it was able to regenerate, otherwise Amaterasu would have completely stuck on body until the opponent is completely burned

You can't kill or defeat it by amaterasu but, you can able to stop it if you can not repel that like nagato. After Shinra Tensei he's able to regen himself. So you can stop it while amaterasu burning his body. But you can not beat compeletly an EDO body with Amaterasu. I hope you get my point.
