With the design of face markings on hashi's face he does resemble a monkey. Which would explain sarutobi's summoning. This to I guess is quite similar to the master - student relationship between jirayia and minato. As to our knowledge minato isent a sage and could still summon toads like saru could summon a monkey without being a sage. Which is in interesting as we see a chain between master and student within the leaf. Another possibility is also that seeing as the two are brothers from the same clan and near the same age, that tobirama could also be a sage himself. Which would make sense as the senju are a clan of the body

The manga is just too over the top now, its just like huge summons wrecking the landscape, instead of awesome hand to hand fights with simple yet cool and clever techniques. I mean wtf even is that thousand hand thing, its retarded, where did it come from??? Why??? I thought Hashirama defeated Madara by countering his moves, like it was cool when he summoned the 3 rashomon gates or whatever to divert the TBB, but hes just using another summon that may as well be another tailed beast. It sort of deminishes the power that the tail beasts have/had, even though they are the basis of the story........ I could go on, the way the manga turned out just sucks....

IMO Naruto vs Sasuke at the valley of the end was way better than whats happening in the flash back. It was tense, had emotion, and the fighting was ****ing awesome even though all the techniques were simple.

Madara should have been attacking and Hashi should have been using all his techniques to survive the attacks, because he didnt want to fight. What happend the part in the famous artwork where the kyubi is there going crazy smashing trees down and creating storms with its tails, whilst Hashi has all these ninja weapons and is using a summoning scroll on a mokuton forest hes just created, and madara leaping at him with his scythe and fan!????? Surely that should have been the moment when this huge summon was called in, even though i dont think it should even exist....

I thought Hashirama defeated Madara by countering his moves, like it was cool when he summoned the 3 rashomon gates or whatever to divert the TBB, but hes just using another summon that may as well be another tailed beast. It sort of deminishes the power that the tail beasts have/had, even though they are the basis of the story........ I could go on, the way the manga turned out just sucks....

IMO Naruto vs Sasuke at the valley of the end was way better than whats happening in the flash back. It was tense, had emotion, and the fighting was ****ing awesome even though all the techniques were simple.

Madara should have been attacking and Hashi should have been using all his techniques to survive the attacks, because he didnt want to fight. What happend the part in the famous artwork where the kyubi is there going crazy smashing trees down and creating storms with its tails, whilst Hashi has all these ninja weapons and is using a summoning scroll on a mokuton forest hes just created, and madara leaping at him with his scythe and fan!????? Surely that should have been the moment when this huge summon was called in, even though i dont think it should even exist....

i dont think its a summon, he uses mokuton so it is probably similar to Chirikus technique but at a higher scale. Madara did state that it was a good thing they didnt summon Hashi too because they would wreck, so this was forshadowed already.

Couz we don't know where Hashi is in the whole mokuton summon. He could very well be behind/infront of it & not on top of it.

I don't get the drawing of Hashi at the lower end of the image though. Since his jutsu was much bigger and gave him a higher elevation....why was he 'looking up' and not down?

1.) We had been told the fight of these two guys created the valley of the end' it created a valley. The ususla hand to hand wud not do that
2.) Madara had told the Kages that if Hashirama was involved in the fight, the landscape wud have changed further than when only him -Madara was involved.
3.) Kabuto had told us that Hashirama was better than Madara be4 Madara got the rinennegan
4.) It is clearly seen by Madara's words ['Hashirama, its been a while since we've engaged in a fight to the death, as you can see, I am no longer the same foe you once knew'] that in their previous fights, Madara was not this powerful & they were fights to the death in which neither died.
5.) Hashirama was called a fairytale in his days & the god of shinobi. The senju are descendants of the SO6P's son that inherited his body/chakra/life-force. So that Hashi. cud summon/create such an humungous stuff sud not be surprising!

Did they say during the fight? We have a flashback of a restrained kurama getting told by Hashirama. Then Mito comes into the equation.

We actually have it saying "during the fight" in those exact words.

Hashirama Senju .... using Senpou like Naruto and Jiraya - but as you can see, Hashirama has completely mastered sennin mode (the pattern around his eyes have the form of senju clan emblem). Mr Kishimoto presents the perfect sennin mode for the first time and an accordingly strong jutsu (consider this is no summoning jutsu). And the final expression on their faces reveals the outcome of the fight. But as Hashirama said - he didn't want to kill Madara and therefore he did not do so. So madara lived underground ashamed in exile... But the reason why Hashirama died (probably a side effect of this strongest jutsu ever) interests me more than ever!
