Could the Sharingan be Real? When you take it in these terms, you make it sound plausible. Now if you do tie in these special bionics into the optic nerve (which is in itself a really intricate and delicate surgery), you'd have to have something to help cope the brain with the stresses from these features. There're going to be things that'll effect the use of the sharingan. Electromagnetic radiation is the main concern. If the electromagnetism is strong enough, it could severely limit, damage or destroy your eyesight. Not to mention, you'd have to have limiters and things put into the brain to make up for biofeedback and other brain responses that could potentially damage these electronics.

Now with these all cast aside. I think you fail to understand what a Sharingan is. A Sharingan is an eye ability that causes the user to copy movement, thought and jutsu of another person. Combining a form of hypnotism with a keen mind and a watchful eye, the Sharingan becomes a powerful tool. Think of it like one of those cartoons with the spinning hypnotic eyes. Once you look into the Sharingan, you're put under a spell in a sense and the user can do whatever they can do to cause doubt or stop you from attacking.

Does this mean that it's possible to duplicate this feature in human eyes? It may yet be possible but the rigors and stresses on the brain would be too much for it to handle. A human wouldn't be able to cope with it. Now if it was something like a contact lense, it's more than possible to be of use. A contact lense would protect your eyesight and could possibly allow you to toss it out whenever it gets fried. It won't allow you to attain speeds or anything like that of the anime but it may yet give you the added edge to defeat your opponent on the battlefield
