both, the main character is always going to be liked cause you see him grow the most, the secondary depending on who could have been cooler before the main character for a while until the main gets stronger

And sakura doesn't deserve to be a main character
Secondary characters well, kishi sucks at developing them
But Hinata, Rock lee ,and others are my favorites
