Wrong, he is not cool. He is super uber sensitive and easily hurt. He gets nervous when someone is standing nearby. Later, after many battles, he became the perfect and cool warrior. As a kid he was very insecure and had a bad temper that he learned to control over the years. Especially as an edo nothing provokes him anymore.

First I thought he was some kid with bad temper that tortured animals, but no, he has a totally kind side, trying to keep Hashirama there and excusing to him. So yeah, he really was a normal kid.
