Best Backstory in OP
Who do you think has the best backstory in One Piece? (I mean history, like what did they face to get to where they are now.)
Personally, I think for me it'd have to be Sanji first, and then Nami second.
Sanji went about 70 days or more (I think) without food, or proper hygiene.
Nami had to pay Arlong a large sum of money to pay for her village.

Re: Best Backstory in OP
I've always liked Robin's backstory the most. It's probably the most tragic of them all as she's been unable to trust people for most of her life. When the SH's were on top of the building and willing to save her at any cost was pretty sweet.

Re: Best Backstory in OP
They havent showed much of the struggle that luffy had to go through, you cant exactly call that proper childhood.
But I think most of the backstories are sad.
Sanji 70 days with little food and all, on a small island.
Robin most of her life, what was she when ohara got burnt down? From then till she became 28 years old or so, she couldnt trust anyone, she kept running from the world goverment.
Nami had her village taken by arlong, and she was forced to make maps for him etc etc.
Chopper was an outcast for both humans and deers.

If any of you've seen the anime part where Luffy destroy Nami's room, that part is sad.

The symbolism behind it was important
