should I move to the United States?
Hi, I was thinking of moving to the US five to six years from now in order to pursue my voice acting career!
here are some of the things that I'm worried about!
Will the economy be better in five to six years?
Do you have to pay for healthcare?
What is the min wage?
do I need a work permit to be able to live in the US for longer than 6 months?
what do I need to move to the US?
how much does a dual citizenship cost?
what do I need to do to get a immigrant visa?
any information would really help thanks!

Why because I trust people who live there instead of relying on what the media says

Nonsense! What better place than here, narutobase will someone find answers to politics, religion, and science. Here's an accurate portrayal of the good ol' U.S of A.

Hmm, alright, look somewhere else.

He's correct but he forgot to warn you about the Honey Boo-boo monster.
OT: But the answer to your question is it depends on a lot of factors.

Re: should I move to the United States?
i LIVE in america. im an actor myself so i can tell you how it goes. voice acting is a tough thing to pursue. really really depends on where you go. i havent met any voice actors personally.
a good place that always seems to be hiring actors of all types is disneyworld in florida. youll need more than one job to sustain yourself. i suggest meeting somebody where you are from interested and THEN moving here with them. the reality is that its hard for ANYBODY to find a job here. either you have a degree, become equity (which is hard to do) and then get work, OR you have an abundance of natural talent and work your ass off. its all about who you know.
new york, its over rated. got friends out there, the cost of living is insane, it smells, its over populated...
boston is a nice town for actors, again i dont know how the voice acting career is over there.
and then there is LA (Los Angeles). this is the place for movies and probably lots of voice acting is done there, but the cost of living is insane just like new york and its kinda ghetto.
oh and btw, chances are you wont get shot unless you are causing trouble.

Thanks this is really opening my eyes! Is florida expensive? I'm trying to find a safe place to live that's close to a lot of studios has no snow and no tornadoes is there any place like that? You did mention california though it's expensive! Basically I'm searching for a place with no snow, close to studios and is safe can you offer me some suggestions!

Re: should I move to the United States?
I'd say it's expensive but not as expensive as everyone makes it out to be, sure celebrites live there but there not the only ones living there. I found rooms for rent starting from 550 a month including internet and utilites it just depends on how badly you want to succeed in whatever venture your going on, as of food and everything else I'm not sure sorry!

You place a lot of faith on narutobase users, but to each his own! Voice acting; can't say I can relate to that particular field, but I do encounter people who are undergrad music, theater students, and the ones I've asked, with regards to difficulty, all agree it's a tough field to crack. It'll be highly competitive, especially in major metropolitan areas. BUT, if you feel like you got the talent, why not? Besides, you'll meet a lot of interesting characters, along the way.
In terms of all the other questions you asked:
