by far the pain arc. The animation was so weird, especially when pain was fighting naruto. Everytime he got punched his face would stretch around weirdly.

Well for the pain arc The invasion of konaha was pretty well done it was just the naruto fight that was messed up :/ while the Hidan+Kakuzu arc...was all not so good ( although its my favorite arc )

I've only watched the anime up until the end of the 'Confining the Jinchuriki' arc, but I feel like the Pain fight's animator gets way too much hate. The close-up shots with Pain admittedly look goofy as ****, but if you look at all of his other work like the Sasuke vs Orochimaru (ep 30 of Part 1) fight, Hiruzen vs the 1st and 2nd Hokages, Naruto vs Sasuke (ep. 133), and some others in Part 2 like Deidara vs Sasuke, the designs are simplistic but there is a lot more action and movement as opposed to just talking. He does a fantastic job animating fights and movements, and nothing feels stale.
I can't really say what the worst animation was tbh. Maybe certain parts of the Pain fight were bad, and that's really all I can point out.
