I guess those scientists were inspired by "Warm Bodies" seriously this is too creepy! Are they trying for a real zombie apocalypse? Leave the dead alone and stop tampering with life!

Re: zombies
"Zombie" really doesn't seem like proper terminology. They're basically replicas of cellular structures made using silica molds. If you read the actual article, you'll find it isn't anything so drastic as the OP claims.
However, it's apparent that no one reads:

This quote alone, joke or not could happen:
"Let's just hope these zombies don't swell up, sprout legs, and start following us around"
I guess reading and comprehending are two different things. You are a moron if you think that's possible.

Re: zombies
There's already several forms of zombies.
1. passive, obedient civilians.
2. heavily drugged people that lost their sense of self, acting like a beast. (Psycho manipulating drugs and ..bath salts?)
and now this lol

Re: zombies
Saaaaaapanda's comments made me actually click the link and read(actually scan) the article to see if he was trolling or if NB's pop was actually filled with morons; The latter is truth.
Scientis aren't trying to create Zombies people, they created non-living cell structures...
Researchers in New Mexico say they've created zombie cells -- near-perfect replicas of mammalian cells that can perform many of the same functions despite the fact that they're not actually alive.

Think about a couple of billion humans VS me. They will slowly become my minions, all the while I drink coffee and smoke Turkish golds.

The article was actually interesting.
Think of the cells as a possible next step in nanotechnology, in which scientists create machines not from big hunks of metal but from individual atoms and molecules.
Not sure that I fully understood this paragraph. It gets deposited on..?
The technique involves first depositing silica -- the stuff sand is made of -- onto the tiny structures inside living cells. Then the cells are heated to burn away the proteins they're made of, leaving behind the nonliving but structurally similar zombies.

Re: zombies
Bath salts will obviously create a zombie like state, and people spread it around, so it's real easy to get a zombie outbreak near you. O_o
