    THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE NB RP GALAXY




    ✖ INTRODUCTION ✖


    RPG stands for Roleplaying Game, though we just shorten it to RP most of the time, and as the name implies it just means that you play a 'role' within a specific provided context, in this case the Narutoverse. No one is obliged to RP, everyone is free to decide whether he or she wants to do it or not, and the only purpose it has is just to have fun. Our RP system is something we are particularly proud of. Not only is it unique and has been part of NB for years, but in the end it even transformed into a community within a community. But because it isn't always clear to newer members how it works, this guide was made.

    First thing you need to know is that almost all RP related stuff is done in the NarutoBase Roleplaying section. Second important thing then is that the system is divided into two main branches. The first branch is what we call Regular RP. This type of RP is the most straightforward and easiest one to understand. The second branch then is the Battle RP and is the most complex one of the two. When we talk about RP, in most cases it refers to the latter type, the majority of this guide is also dedicated to explaining this type of RP. Especially the index at the bottom of this post is very useful.


    ✖ REGULAR RP ✖


    Regular RP is quite simple as it isn't bound by any additional rules nor do you need any kind of requirements to participate in it. The bottom line of regular RP is that you make threads where you create your own context, place, stage or environment and play a 'role' that matches the thread. This type of RP is always done in Konoha Town. People use it to post bio shops, recruitment threads, schools, academies, resorts, weddings, even history classes and courthouses. As you can see even non-Naruto related RP stuff is allowed to be posted here, however this has to be done in the Non-Naruto RP section (which is a part of KT). Because of this Konoha Town can in fact be considered as some kind of an NB RP metropole. In the end it comes down to saying improvised stuff like this:

    *Mr. Swordbiter walks into a shady bar*

    I demand a barrel of your best sake!

    *Hot voluptuous woman appears behind the bar*

    But of course ^^

    *Throws the barrel at Mr. Swordbiter's head*

    ✖ BATTLE RP ✖


    Battle RP revolves around, as the name implies, battles and is always located in a Naruto based context. Pretty much all the other RP sections are somehow focused on this type of RP. Even Konoha Town is often used for battle purposes like recruitment. You make biographies, train to learn the shinobi skills, create your own jutsu and start fighting alone or in group with other people. Everything else in this guide from this point on is solely meant to explain all the aspects of this type of RP.

    ✖ POSTCOUNT?

    ► Postcounts form the core of our RP battle system. Everything is, directly or indirectly, related to it. Your postcount determines your rank and thus also what and how much you are able to learn. Higher-ranked RPers have the potential to learn more than lower-ranked ones and the more you learn, the stronger you will get. This is also explained in the Battle Ranks thread.

    Genin: 50 posts - 300 chakra/350 health - E + D Rank Jutsu's - 1 Basic Element - Basic Ninjutsu

    ► Battle Ranks (Explained):
    Genin:
    When you reach 50 posts, you automatically become a genin and can start RPing. At this rank you can be trained in max one element of your choice. Besides that you can also learn normal ninjutsu. As a genin you can learn max up to D-rank jutsu's (this applies to all shinobi skills).

    Chunin:
    When you reach 200 posts, you automatically become a chunin. At this rank you can be trained in max two elements of your choice. Besides that you can also start learning taijutsu. As a chunin you can learn max up to C-rank jutsu's (this applies to all shinobi skills).

    S-Jounin:
    When you reach 550 posts, you automatically become an S-Jounin. At this rank you can be trained in max three elements of your choice. Besides that you can also start learning genjutsu. As an S-Jounin you can learn max up to B-rank jutsu's (this applies to all shinobi skills).

    Jounin:
    When you reach 1050 posts, you automatically become a Jounin. At this rank you can be trained in max four elements of your choice. As a Jounin you can learn max up to A-rank jutsu's (this applies to all shinobi skills).

    S-Class:
    When you reach 2400 posts, you automatically become an S-Class. At this rank you can be trained in your fifth and final element. As an S-Class you can learn max up to S-rank jutsu's (this applies to all shinobi skills).

    Sannin:
    When you reach 4300 posts, you automatically become a Sannin. At this rank you can also learn fuuinjutsu, if you're lucky that is as, unlike skills like genjutsu, taijutsu etc., you need a special permission to be taught this. As a sannin you can learn up to Forbidden rank jutsu's (this applies to all shinobi skills).

    Kage:
    When you reach 8000 posts, you automatically become a Kage. As a Kage you gain the privilege to submit your own Custom Elements.

    Sage:
    When you reach 10 000 posts, you automatically become an unofficial Sage. At this rank you can also learn kinjutsu, if you're lucky that is as, unlike skills like genjutsu, taijutsu etc., you need a special permission to be taught this. As a Sage you gain the privilege to request a Sage Mission if you finished all your basic training. If you succeed in this mission, you will be given your own sage title and then you can submit your own Custom Clan.

    Grim:
    When you reach 30 000 posts, you automatically become a Grim. This is mainly a cosmetic title and was introduced to honor the member Hellsbadass (aka Grim aka Man of Love) as the first person passing the 30 000 posts mark.

    ✖ HOW TO START RPING?

    ► Step #1

    First read everything that was written above so that you get an overall idea of what RPing now exactly is on NB.

    ► Step #2

    When you have at least 50 posts, you can post a biography in the RPG Biographies section. Then just wait till the bio is approved (see the Biographies post of this guide).

    ► Step #3

    When your biography is approved, search for a sensei, a person with an orange name, who can train you in the Training Grounds section (see the Training post of this guide).

    ► Step #4

    When you think you learned enough, you can start battling in the Battle Arena section (see the Battling post of this guide). You can give battling a deeper dimension by becoming a member of an official RP village and take on other villages in the Ninja World section (see the Ninja World post of this guide).

    ► Step #5

    Finally just repeat this process. The higher your rank becomes, the more things you can learn, the more biographies you can make and the more stuff you can add to these bios. You can give your bios a more personal, unique touch by creating custom jutsus, elements or clans and you might even become an official Sage (see the Customs, Custom Elements and Custom Clans & Sages posts of this guide)!

    WHAT ARE BIOGRAPHIES?

    RPG biographies, bio's for short, are one of the keystone aspects of our RP system. Most of our RP activities have the minimum requirement of a person having at least one approved bio before he or she can participate in it. To train, fight, make custom jutsu's or elements etc. you need to have an approved biography as otherwise you can't do any of those things. So making a biography and getting it approved is, in most cases, the very first priority of a potential fresh RPer. Your biography is your 'representation' when you RP and also serves somewhat as your CV of your RP career as everything you learned has to be mentioned in your bio, meaning that the longer you RP and the more you learn, your bio will become more and more detailed and experienced.

    The importance and the point of biographies are quite clear, however as biographies play such a crucial role, it's likewise also one of the most complex aspects of our RP system and has quite a large set of rules tied to it, most of them related to KG (Kekkei Genkai) and HA (Hiden Abilities). This is to avoid having 'overpowered' biographies and means, explained in a very simplistic way, that when you gain one ability, you can lose access to several others. With other words it's very important to realize that, even though you have the potential to learn a lot of things, depending on what you exactly learned, it's most of the time not allowed to use all of your skills with one specific bio.

    DIFFERENT BIOGRAPHY TYPES?

    Canon Biographies:

    Canon bio's are bio's based on characters that have appeared in the manga and/or anime. The advantages of this type of bio's is that you can get most info from Narutopedia and gain access to the abilities/specialties that specific character has. The disadvantage is that a lot of things you might have learned with other bio's, may not be allowed to be used by these characters if they haven't shown using it in the story. Examples of this type of bio would be Sasuke, Asuma, Kakashi bio's etc.

    Custom Biographies:

    Custom bio's are bio's based on characters that do not appear in the manga or anime. Often these are bio's that use characters from other manga's/anime's/comics/cartoons, real life people or even characters completely made up. All of these are considered 'custom' simply because they do not originate from Naruto. The advantages of this type of bio's are that you can mold them to your liking and can combine skills that can not always be combined in canon bio's. Disadvantages are that you can't just copy paste stuff as those would make no sense most of the time and thus it would often take more effort to make such a bio (in most cases the bio would be instantly declined if you do mindlessly copy-paste such stuff). Also you would lose access to the abilities that can only be used by canon characters. Examples of this type of bio would be a bio based on Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail or Trafalgar Law from One Piece.

    Test Biographies:

    Test bio's can be both canon as custom bio's. This type of bio just refers to bio's that require you to pass a battle test first before it can be approved. This can be a test for a specific canon character, like Muu or Nagato, or for an ability, like a custom Kaguya bio. These tests are always held in the Battle Tests Section

    BASIC BIO RULES?

    Minimum Bio Requirement:

    A minimum of 50 posts is required to make a bio. Depending on the character you want to make, this might be even higher alongside several other requirements. You can find all the specific rules for individual characters, clans and abilities in the Bio Rules Quick Access thread.

    Bio Limit Rule:

    You can have max up to 2 biographies at any given time.

    One Month Rule:

    Once a bio is approved, it cannot be dropped or switched for a month (regardless of when the bio was posted).

    Bio Template:

    Every bio has to follow the basic Bio Template, no exceptions. You can custom code it, however if you mess the template up along the way, the mod can and shall decline it.

    Bio Updates:

    You must update your biographies regularly, adding the new jutsus/elements and other stuff you learned. When you update you bio, the older version of your bio is dropped. However do not start updating your bio for every single thing. Around once every 1-2 months should be enough in most cases.

    Bio Length:

    Your biography should be complete & detailed, with a good background history, pictures, theme song and everything else that's mentioned in the template, even if there is a part you can't fill in yet. The more detailed the better, however know restraint as even though it's not forbidden to make extremely long and detailed bio's, you need to take into consideration that the longer it is, the more time it will take to get it approved.

    Mock Bio Rule:

    Biography characters need to maintain a certain level of seriousness, so characters that fail to be regarded as such, like animal characters, shall be automatically declined. Bio's must follow some code of being like a ninja to work in the naruto system, this is not to kill peoples fun but to keep it within the context of Naruto world. If the mod finds that the bio does not conform with this rule, he can decline it.

    KG/HA Limit Rule:

    You are allowed to posses 2 KG/HA in total for 2 biographies. This means for each bio you are allowed 1 KG/HA. See the next paragraph for more info on the combination of such abilities.

    Bio Test Rules:

    When you are taking a test for a specific bio, regardless of whether you passed or failed the test, you can't apply for another test bio for a month starting from the moment the results of the test are in, even if it's the same test in the case you failed the first time. With other words there's always a month between two tests. Also when taking a test you are obliged to make at least one post every 5 days.

    Custom Clan & Abilities Rules:

    You can't make custom clans/write histories that you originate from a custom clan, no matter how insignificant it might be, not even for cosmetic purposes and certainly not make up custom KG or abilities. Custom clans have a special status on NB, only official NB Sages can submit custom clans for approval. You can however become part of such an already approved clan. Also a custom clan bio can not be part of any other clan nor have any other KG/HA.

    2 BIO KG/HA RULES?

    Doujutsu Limit Rule:

    You can have max only one doujutsu bio. This means that you can't have Sharingan in one bio and Byakugan in another.

    Same Ability Limit Rule:

    This means that you can't create 2 biographies based on the same KG/HA, like 2 Yuki clan characters, 2 Aburame characters etc.

    Special Bio Rule:

    If one of your characters is any of: Pein/Nagato, an Uchiha with MS, a Jinchuriki, Minato Namikaze, Muu, 3rd Raikage (pretty much every individual character for which you need to take a battle test) etc. you can't have another bio with a KG/HA with the exception of a custom clan bio. This means that if you choose one of the above characters as a first or second bio, your other bio can not contain any KG/HA.

    Custom Clans:

    If one wants to become a member of a Custom Clan, then he/she can only have a KG/HA in his/her other bio. Meaning that if for example I want to join the Kiyoshi Custom Clan, I can create 1 biography with a KG/HA and create another one with no KG/HA and this one can join Kiyoshi.

    HOW TO MAKE A BIO?

    Step #1

    First read the basic bio rules listed above this paragraph. Then, depending on what character you are planning to make, check the Bio Rules Quick Access thread. We have a lot of rules regarding individual abilities and characters (most of them can be found in that thread) and we don't expect you to know them all, however if you're for instance planning to make an Uchiha bio, you need to check the Sharingan rules to see if you have all the requirements for it. If, for example, you don't have 1500 posts you can't make an Uchiha bio. Also a lot of characters and abilities require training in one thing or another, meaning it's impossible to make those characters in your first bio as to receive training a bio is required.

    Step #2

    Bio's have to be posted in the RPG Biographies section, so that's the place where you should make and post your bio.

    Step #3

    To make your bio, you copy paste the basic Bio Template, follow it correctly and fill it in. You are not obliged to follow the provided, basic coding. However if you decide to create your own coding, it's your own responsibility if you mess up. No matter what the first priority of a bio is getting approved and not to look nice. The next paragraph will expain the Bio Template more detailed.

    Step #4

    When you followed the template correctly and posted your bio, just wait patiently for approval. If there is something wrong, the mod will tell you what you need to change (in most cases other members probably will already have mentioned it before the mod checked the bio). When a bio is approved an approved icon will be added to the title, 'Approved' will be written at the bottom of the bio and it will be moved to the Approved Biographies section. If the bio is beyond saving or is simply not allowed, it will be moved to the Declined/Dropped Biographies section.

    Step #5

    When you want to add the stuff you learned to your bio(s), repeat these steps, only this time you add the stuff you learned. This is what we call 'updating' your bio. The older version of your bio is then dropped.

    Basic Information

    Name:

    Here you state the name of your character.

    Nickname:

    Here you state your character's nickname(s), doesn't have to be canon, you can make them up as it's not really so important.

    Gender:

    Here you state your character's gender. Male, female or whatever's in between.

    Age:

    Here you state your character's age. Be logical, no shinobi is 566 or 2 years old.

    Clan:

    Here you state the clan your character belongs to. A lot of canon characters don't belong to an official clan or simply their clan has never been stated. If this is the case or, when you make a custom character that doesn't belong to a clan, you don't need to write anything.

    Looks:

    Here you describe how your character looks like what kind of cloths he wears and what kind of physical appearance he has. You can also just add a picture of your character here instead of describing him or refer to pictures that are posted elsewhere in your bio.

    Personality:

    Here you describe the personality of your character. Is he timid? Serious? Goofy? Schizophrenic? Etc.

    Village of Birth:

    Here you state the village your character was born in.

    Village of Alliance:

    here you state to which village(s) you are allied to, though it's not always clear for canon characters. However it's not really that important and doesn't have to be filled in if you stated your Village of Birth, however one of these two always has to be filled in and if you didn't fill in VoB, you need to write something in VoA that conforms with your history.

    Here you state your rank, meaning the rank that you can see under your avatar that's based on your post count. The rank your character has in the story if it's a canon bio doesn't matter. In the Battle Ranks thread you can see which amount of posts you need for which rank and what you can learn when reaching those ranks.

    Specialty:

    Here you state where you excel in, meaning the few things you are better in compared to all the other skills you know. However in normal circumstances there shouldn't be anything mentioned here in your first bio and it's up to the mod who checks the bio to decide whether you deserve all the specialties you stated or not.

    Elements:

    Here you state all the elements you learned, whether your character is canon or custom doesn't matter and neither are the elements your character uses in the story if it's a canon one. In your first bio you can state the first element you want to learn and add that you still need training in it, in all the other bio's you only state the elements you actually had training in, nothing else and certainly do not start listing all the elements and just say you need training in them.

    Your ninjutsu:

    Here you list all the jutsu's you have learned. This includes taijutsu, genjutsu etc. You can also list your elemental ninjutsu's here too, though some people already list those under Elements. The jutsu's listed below are the basic E-rank academy jutsu's and are the only jutsu's everyone gets by default and these have to be stated in your first bio. When you learn more and more jutsu's, you are not obliged (and it's even advised not to) to post every single one of them individually. Most people solve this by just writing it for example like this:

    Genjutsu - up to C-rank
    Taijutsu - up to B-rank
    Ninjutsu - up to B-rank
    etc.

    The jutsu's listed below are the basic E-rank academy ninjutsu and you get them by default. After a while, when you know more stuff, you are not obliged to add them anymore.

    History:

    Here you state the history of your character. For canon characters you just follow their normal history, but if it's a canon character that has died, you only write history from before its death. Histories of custom characters have to fit the Narutoverse and thus can't have contradictions with it, even stuff that is in theory not impossible, but is in reality practically BS is not allowed. There is a small exception though, people that have been RPing for a long time can write histories in custom bio's based on their own adventures, even if they contradict the Naruto plot. However in the latter case you can't combine the real Naruto plot with stuff from your own adventures that contradict the plot.

    Other

    Picture[s]:

    Here you can add pictures of your character if you haven't done that yet somewhere else in the bio. It's not really that important and doesn't have to be filled in if you described your looks earlier.

    Theme Song and Background Music:

    Some music, not really important. Most people post YT vids, but other people just add the name of a song.

    Battles

    Won:

    Here you state the amount of battles you officially won in our RP system, meaning that any made up fights in your history do not count and that in the case of a canon character, its battles in the Naruto plot do not count either. Thus logically in your first bio you have 0 wins.

    Lost:

    Same comment as above, only this time for the battles you lost. Some people count every battle they ever fought, while others only count the battles they fought with that specific bio, it doesn't really matter what you choose to do.

He also wears the Twelve Guardian Ninja sash that has the kanji for "Fire" (火) marked on it around his waist, a pair of black bangles and bandages wrapped around the arms of his sleeves.

    Personality:

    Asuma is typically a laid-back individual, and does not get himself involved in things unless absolutely necessary, as seen when he decided not to help save Hinata Hyūga during the Chūnin Exams. He is a heavy smoker but despite this, he will abruptly break the habit under certain circumstances, such as when his father died, or learned that Kurenai was pregnant. Not always seeing eye to eye with his father, Asuma later came to respect his father's role as Hokage: referring to him as a great father, and was proud to have been born into the Sarutobi clan. Despite Asuma's very blunt personality, often calling his students what they are unreservedly, a "glutton" (Chōji), a "loud mouth" (Ino), and a "slacker" (Shikamaru), he has a very good relationship with all three. He often takes them to Yakiniku Q for lunch and dinner where more often than not Chōji eats too much and Asuma has to pay more and apologise emphatically to the owner. To help them overcome their underachieving natures, he sometimes attempts to use bribery and outright trickery to manipulate them into doing what he wants. This was seen most with Chōji, who Asuma is frequently able to entice into action with the promise of food and even Shikamaru whom he had to use games like shōgi on to assess his skill level. Out of his students, Asuma spent the most time with and was closest to Shikamaru. Asuma and Shikamaru often played shōgi or Go in their free time, though Asuma was never able to beat Shikamaru. It was Asuma who first discovered that the lazy Shikamaru was actually a genius, with an I.Q. over 200

    History:

    Asuma was born to Hiruzen, the Third Hokage, and Biwako Sarutobi. During the Academy entrance ceremony, Asuma became friends with Kurenai Yūhi. He later cheered on his classmates during the third round of the Chūnin Exams. During the Nine-Tails' attack on Konoha, Asuma along with the other young ninja were barred from participating in the defence of the village by Kurenai Yūhi's father and the other senior shinobi. A few years after the event, Asuma would become an uncle to Konohamaru.

    About seven years before the start of the series, he had a disagreement with his father and left Konoha to pursue his personal interests. During his absence, he became one of the Twelve Guardian Ninja, a group that protected the Land of Fire's daimyō, indicated by the sash on his waist. During this time he developed a strong friendship with the monk Chiriku, who would go on to become the head monk of the Fire Temple.     Background Info

    History:

    Max belongs to the same generation as the current kazekage, Gaara. Much like all the other kids Max originally feared Gaara when he was a kid, though in a certain way he could understand Gaara's feelings of loneliness a bit as Max didn't had much friends either. Because Gaara eventually succeeded in becoming the kazekage and earning the respect of most villagers, Max started to look up to him as he gained hope that he too might change.

    This resulted in Max continuously visiting public places like bars and cafes and to participate in any kind of social event the Sand Village organized. His admiration for Gaara even went as far as trying to mimic his Sand jutsu's, though that was an über failure. Max then set his eyes on becoming a member of the puppet brigade and eventually becoming a puppet master, like Kankuro, Gaara's older brother.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION(S) ABOUT RPG BIOGRAPHIES

    Do I need to be part of an official RP village to fill in my Village of Alliance?
    No you do not. For some reason a lot of people think that VoA is only for people that are part of the Village System, however it was part of the bio template long before the Village System was made. Logically it would be normal to write as VoA the village you are part of, however even if you do not participate in the Village System, you can still fill it in.

    I have posted my bio, do I need to contact an RP mod to get it approved?
    Absolutely not, never contact an RP, or any other mod, to get your bio checked as it's simply annoying and not necessary. The only potential result that could be obtained from doing so would be waiting even longer or even getting your bio instantly declined. Mods have lives too and they will check the bio's on their own accord.

    I have some new stuff I want to add to my bio, can I edit it?
    Absolutely not, it's highly forbidden to edit a bio after it got approved. That would invalidate the point of even approving bio's in the first place. If you want to add stuff, you need to 'update' the bio, meaning you post it again, this time with the updates, and wait again for approval. A bio that has been edited not by a mod after it got approved is automatically voided.

    When I learn something, do I need to learn it again when I make a new bio/drop a bio?
    No you don't need to learn it again. When you learn something, you learn it for all of your bio's, with other words you only need to learn everything once. It has to be noted though that things like KG/HA can only be used by characters that fit their requirements and follow all the rules. For example you can't use the ice element with an Uchiha bio, even if you mastered ice on a previous Yuki bio.

    Can I post a new bio, even when a month hasn't passed yet, and just ask that they can wait with checking till the moment a bio can be dropped?
    No, you post bio's when you are allowed to post them. For bio mods it's a pain to see bio's that, according to the rules, can't be checked by them yet and are just gathering dust while bio's keep piling up.

    WHAT IS TRAINING?

    Training is as integral a part of the NarutoBase Role-Playing System as Battling and the Ninja World; in many cases, training is the most important part of the Role-Playing Experience. Before beginning one’s Role-Playing career, training is necessary. It is the foundation by which individuals grow into stronger fighters and better tacticians. You can start training, which is always done in the Training Grounds, after you got at least one biography approved.

    It is important to note that you may only learn techniques through training. No Role-Player on NarutoBase receives official NarutoBase techniques by default unless there are extrapolating circumstances (and this does not apply for the vast majority of members). Training is meant to be a learning process; it exists not only to teach each person how to properly conduct battle in the Arena or in the Ninja World but also how to properly make use of the canon and even custom abilities allotted to participants in the NarutoBase Role-Playing scheme. The level of training varies, of course, and it is likely to become routine in each member’s Role-Playing career; even the elites are still subject to undergoing training, as Role-Playing itself is a constant learning experience. This guide seeks to better clarify the aim and the basics of the acquisition of training for relatively new members.

    WHO IS ALLOWED TO TEACH?

    Senseis:

    Senseis, best distinguished by their orange names, are the most prominent people who can train people. They have passed the official sensei exam, which consists of a two-part test, and are capable of teaching any of the 5 Basic Elements and basic shinobi skills (gen-, tai- and ninjutsu) as well as their own personal specialties. The diversity of the senseis’ abilities provides for a avenue through which any prospective Role-Player may seek out a teacher who is at least knowledgeable in said Role-Player’s particular pursuit. The senseis (and also senpais and shishous) are all listed under The Official NarutoBase Sensei Table. Here you can also see the time zones under which each sensei lives and the specific areas in which they are allowed to instruct individuals seeking training.

    Senpais:

    Senpais, by contrast, are much less specialized and are only permitted to teach the 5 Basic Elements with a few exceptions. Most senseis have a senpai under their wing; they exist as a second hand for the senseis, as many of the teachers on NarutoBase are not always readily available for training. To avoid this issue, Senpais exist to deliver basic training to any under the tutelage of a particular sensei. With other words senpai can be considered as senseis in training.

    Shishous:

    Finally there is also a third group that has the privilege to train people, namely shishous. Because of the large number of individual skills that appear in the Narutoverse, often there aren't much people who are experienced in using lesser known skills, making it not easy for someone to be able to learn those skills if they want to. That's why certain people are given the right to train people in such abilities. The major difference between these people and senseis/senpais, is that they can only teach people in that one specific skill, nothing else. For example someone can be a shishou for teaching Aburame bugs or Inuzuka techs. It's not uncommon however for a sensei or senpai to also be a shishou.     HOW TO START TRAINING?

    Step #1

    First you need to get your biography approved. You can't train if you don't have at least one approved bio and the minimum requirement for any kind of bio is 50 posts (see the Biographies post of this guide for more info). Also before beginning your training, be sure to consult the Battle Ranks thread as your rank will dictate, based on the number of posts you have, what rank of techniques that you are eligible to learn at any given moment. These ranks and rules apply to every single jutsu you learn in your entire Role-Playing career.

    Step #2

    When your bio gets approved, you can start searching for a sensei. The most efficient way to this is by checking The Official NarutoBase Sensei Table thread. Here you can find all the info you need about the people who can train you. Alternatively senseis can be easily spotted on the forums due to their orange name.

    Step #3

    Ask the person of who you want training of in a polite and respectful way if he or she can train you. Don't get discouraged if you can't find immediately someone, senseis are often quite busy and have real lives too, so it might take a while before you can find someone, but eventually someone certainly will agree on training you.

    Step #4

    When you found someone and discussed what you now exactly want to learn (fire, wind, basic ninjutsu etc.), you can start training, which is always done in the Training Grounds section. This is the HUB of all NarutoBase training activity. All training begins and ends here. Once you have created the thread for your training, usually titled “[Insert Sensei Name Here] Trains [Insert Username Here]” then you may proceed with your training. The training process is fairly simple and follows a very specific format:
    ➔ The Sensei will provide instruction on a specific concept, technique or jutsu.

    ➔ The student will respond with the appropriate reaction to the sensei’s instruction and do as instructed.

    ➔ The training will proceed in this manner, step by step.

    Note: Not all training sessions may follow this format. Senseis are free to proceed with whatever manner of instruction they feel best ensures that the student understands exactly what he or she is learning (not to mention rarely an RPer only had one teacher).

    TEACHING CUSTOM ABILITIES?

    Custom Jutsu's, Summons & Fighting Styles:

    Members are allowed to teach their own approved custom jutsu's, custom summons and custom fighting styles to whosoever they please. If you do not meet the requirements to learn a specific jutsu, you may not ask for permissions from the particular owner of the jutsu in question. You can teach an individual CJ to max 6 people. Custom Fighting Styles and summons follow the same principle, namely a CFS can only be taught to max 6 people and only 6 people in total can sign a summoning contract (see the Customs post of this guide).

    Custom Elements:

    A custom element may only have max two students, however only a sensei can teach their CE. If you're not a sensei, you can't teach your CE to anyone (see the CE post of this guide).

    Custom Clan Abilities:

    The abilities of a custom clan can only be taught by the original founder of the clan and alternatively by people who have been given the right to do so by the same founder (see the CC & Sages post of this guide).

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION(S) ABOUT TRAINING

    If I learned something, do I need to learn it again when I make another bio?
    You only need to learn something once. For instance if you learned fire, then you can add fire to all your current and future bio's. However certain skills can only be used by certain bio's. If you had a Yuki bio and learned ice, you can't add ice to any other bio unless it's a Yuki bio.

    Can I add skills to a canon bio it hasn't used in the manga/anime if I have learned them?
    You are free to use any of the 5 Elements, basic ninjutsu, genjutsu and taijutsu on every shinobi bio so long as proper training has been received, even if the character didn't use it in the series. For most of the other abilities it mainly depends on the restrictions placed on these abilities as some abilities are tied to specific canon characters. For example, as said before, ice can ony be used by Yuki bio's.

    Can I only be trained by one person?
    No, you are free to decide by whom and how many you want to be trained. Most of the time people get trained in one specific skill and when that training is finished, they search for another person if their current teacher can't do it.

    When do I have mastered a specific element/skill?
    If you have learned all the canon jutsu's, related to that specific skill, that can be learned by any bio, you have mastered it.

    If I have mastered a skill, but a new canon jutsu is added for that skill, have I still mastered that skill?
    If you have mastered a skill and a new jutsu is added, you can use that jutsu by default because of practical implications it would cause if not. Of course you are free to still ask training in it.

    I can't find anyone to teach me in a specific skill, can I get it by default then?
    Normally you don't get anything by default like that. Things like the 5 basic elements, basic ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, Sharingan, Gentle Fist etc. always have to be learned regardless of the situation. However it's possible that there is simply no one eligible to teach some of the lesser skills like Smoke or Lava. If that's the case, you can get them by default if an RP mod verified it for you.

    How do I train people exactly in a CJ/CFS/CS/CE?
    Same way you get trained by senseis in canon stuff: you make a thread in the Training Grounds section, only this time you are the one who does the teaching. How deep you want to go in on that training is up to you.

    WHAT IS BATTLING?

    Battles is the thing that appeals to most people and is what drives them to start RPing in the first place, so essentially they could be considered the foundation of the RP system. The purposes behind battles may vary, but they have in common that this is where RPers utilize all the experience they gained during training, against one another.

    Most battles are done just for fun in the Battle Arena between two members, though sometimes more, each one using one of their biographies as a 'representation' of themselves in the battle. Other battles might have higher stakes if you battle for your village, for an ability, a bio or something else..

    DIFFERENT BATTLE TYPES?

    Regular Battles:

    Regular battles are most of the time just for fun and are always posted, as mentioned before, in the Battle Arena. These battles always follow the Basic Battle Rules (aka Rei's Rules), which will be explained below. Outside these rules, people can place themselves additional limitations on their battles. This means that people can decide where they fight as the battlefield plays an important role. Do you want to fight in the desert? In an active volcano? Or in a blizzard on the Arctic? Depending on the field you could gain or lose an advantage. You can also decide whether you allow custom jutsu's or not, hether you can use all 5 basic elements or just 2 and whether you want to fight a ninjutsu or a taijutsu battle. All of this has to be explained in the first post of the battle and both parties have to agree to these terms. Most of this post is aimed at these battles.

    Test Battles:

    This type of battle already got partially explained in the Biographies post of this guide. These are battles people fight as a test to gain something like an ability, a bio or even the sensei status. Depending on what you are trying to gain, additional conditions might be placed on the battle on top of the regular battles rules. For example if you want to learn the 8 Inner Gates, you can only use taijutsu in your test. These tests are always done in the Battle Tests section.

    Tournament Battles:

    Once in a while RP tournaments are held. Most of the time they follow the regular RP Battle Rules, but they might have extra restrictions placed upon them, though that varies from tournament to tournament. Most of the time these are also held in the earlier mentioned Battle Tests section.

    Ninja World Battles:

    These are all the battles fought in the Ninja World section. They mostly follow the basic Battle Rules, but as their nature is quite different from regular battles, they also have their own rules. Because the NW is almost completely separated from other parts of the RP, is quite large and has quite a variety in how battles are fought, everything related to it will be explained in the Ninja World post of this guide.

    BASIC BATTLE RULES?

    Tech Limit:

    You can post max three techs each turn. First you post your moves, then your opponent posts his in reaction on yours. Not necessarily all the moves you posted will actually go through depending on how the opponent reacted.

    Blocking & Avoiding Techs:

    You cannot just say "I block the attack", you have to describe exactly how you block or dodge it as jutsu's can be used in different ways. Neither can you just avoid by saying stuff in the nature of "I make a sidestep", you need to use a tech of your own to do that.

    Time Frame Rule:

    There has always been a lot of commotion around this rule, but very simplistically said it comes down to that the first move the opponent uses each turn goes through and you have to defend against it instead of trying to cancel the opponent's entire move by using a jutsu before the opponent actually used his first jutsu even though he posted first. This is important as it provides a basis for the chronology of the moves used, creating the time frame of the battle. When it concerns just jutsu's, it's easy to understand, however it becomes a bit more difficult when it starts with stuff like throwing kunais or smoke bombs. In this case this will count as the first move (but it does not count towards the 3 tech limit). To avoid people abusing it by defining minor, insignificant stuff as a 'move', we define it as the first clear offensive maneuver of the opponent. For instance scratching your ass does not start the battle.

    Arguments:

    If you have a problem with the usage of a jutsu, your opponent's move or whatnot, first talk to the opponent directly to solve it. If you can't come to an agreement, you contact a sensei. Only after that you go to an RP mod if it's still not solved.

    Clone Limit:

    Clones of any kind may only be used three times pet battle and there will be a maximum of 4 clones created at a time.

    Kai:

    Kai, otherwise known as the Genjutsu release, can be used once per turn as long as the user has the rank and the requirements to release the technique. Kai cannot be used on MS and EMS Genjutsu.

    Body Flicker:

    Body Flicker will no longer be used in battle due to misuse, acting like it's real teleportation.

    Substitution:

    The Substitution technique and variations of it can only be used once per battle.

    Official Battles:

    All battles held in the Battle Arena or Ninja World count as official fights, regardless of which restrictions that were placed on it. Meaning if you lose, your bio can be used as a Human Puppet by a Sasori bio, having your heart ripped out by a Kakuzu bio, be used for Edo Tensei etc. Only when it was clearly agreed at the start it was just an unofficial spar, it doesn't count as an official battle.

    HOW TO BATTLE?

    Step #1

    First you need to have an approved bio and receive some training with it so that you überhaupt know any moves you can use for a battle as stated in the Biograhpies and Training posts of this guide.

    Step #2

    Read the basic bio rules that got explained above.

    Step #3

    Make a thread in the Battle Arena section. Some people first search for an opponent and then post a thread, others post the thread and then wait for someone to reply. Whichever way you choose, both of you have to come to the agreement of the additional rules like where are you fighting exactly, what type of battle, which skills can be used and who will start. Also don't forget to post the bio you use and where both of you actually stand on the field (short/medium/long range)

    Step #4

    The person who begins makes his first move, stating max 3 techs.

    Step #5

    The 2nd RPer makes his move based on the move of the 1st RPer. The first jutsu someone used always goes through, so the 2nd RPer has to block/avoid that jutsu with his own first jutsu. Depending on how this is done, it's possible (and is often the case) that the other two jutsu's of the 1st RPer are automatically voided. In that case the 2nd RPer can use his two remaining jutsu's to counter attack.

    Step #6

    Repeat this cycle till someone wins. The 1st RPer now has to make a move based on how the 2nd RPer reacted. It's far from unusual that only one jutsu actually goes through of the max 3 jutsu's that get posted each turn. The victor is decided when the opponent gives up, gets incapacitated to fight any longer or gets killed. Important here is using common sense. If you for instance succeed in stabbing the opponent's leg with a kunai, that will not kill him, but will restrict his movement. Even low-ranked jutsu's have the potential to kill your opponent if used correctly.

    BATTLE FORMAT & EXAMPLES?

    Battle Format:
    Shinobi A challenges Shinobi B to a battle in the Arena and makes a thread with the following restrictions:

    ➔ Rei's R&R
    ➔ All out battle, meaning every jutsu or skill you know is allowed
    ➔ Mid-range
    ➔ a grassy field with some trees and a lake nearby
    ➔ Using Asuma bio (Shinobi B also has to state his bio)
    ➔ Shinobi A starts with:


    (Fūton: Daitoppa) - Wind Release: Great Break Through
    Rank: C
    Type:Attack
    Range:Short-Long
    Chakra Cost:15
    Damage Points:30
    Description: This is a relatively simple technique that when the user performs the following hand seals Tiger → Ox → Dog → Rabbit → Snake they create a sudden gust of wind, but its scale varies greatly depending on the user. If used by a superior shinobi, it has enough destructive power to knock down a large tree. The wind from the squall can blow away all things in the user's line of sight. A variation of the technique involves a smaller blast of wind which gets ignited with flame.
    To blast the opponent backwards. After that Shinobi A follows up with:

    ( Doton: Iwa Rendan ) - Earth Release: Rock Barrage
    Rank: D
    Type: Offensive

    Description: The user will concentrate their chakra into their arm and then release their chakra creating a ring of rocks that are then flung at the opponent.

    Description: The user brings their hands together and an electrical energy will begin to crackle around them. They will then slam their hands to the ground to send an electric current racing through the earth. When the current approaches its target, it can split into multiple tendrils to attack separate targets individually.
    Killing whatever is left of him.

    Description: After performing the hand seal Tiger the user compresses a large amount of chakra built up inside their body, before instead expelling it in the form of a number of dragon head-shaped fireballs. The user then skilfully manipulates that great fire, and attacks their opponent. The temperature of the created flames is so great that, even with the briefest of contact, they are capable of easily burning human flesh and the fireballs are dense enough to behave almost as solid, being able to deliver impact damage in adition to the fire damage. However, this also means that they can be deflected as a solid projectiles.
    In reply to Shinobi A's wind jutsu. Not only is this fire tech two ranks higher than the wind tech, it also has the elemental advantage. So it would beat the wind tech and go straight for Shinobi A. This is now the moment Shinobi A used the earth tech, however even though the fire jutsu is weakened due to the clash with the wind tech, it's still far superior to the earth tech. It would overpower it and kill Shinobi A, voiding the lightning tech. However to be on the safe side Shinobi B uses:

    Description: After waving the Boar → Dog → Ram hand seals, a water vortex created in the palm of the user’s hand that can then be blasted forward creating a spiraling wall of water which can then be used to attack or defend.
    Note: No water source required
    To destroy the body of the opponent completely and deciding not to launch a third jutsu.

    Now it's again Shinobi's A turn. He sees that his wind tech got overpowered severely and instead of using the earth tech, he decides to use:


    (Suiton: Kyojin Nami Shougeki) – Water Release: Giant Wave Crash
    Rank: A
    Type: Offensive , Deffence
    Range: Long
    Chakra cost: 30
    Damage points: 60
    Description: The user gathers a large amount of water that can then be used to crash into the opponent. It is strong enough to push back Killer bee in Eight tales form.
    Note: Requires a water source
    Using the nearby lake as a water source to overpower the fire jutsu as water has an elemental advantage over fire + the fire jutsu already got weakened. This is when Shinobi B used his water jutsu. So now two water jutsu's are going to clash. Normally the higher ranked beats the lower ranked, but the A-ranked jutsu already got weakened by the fire jutsu and thus normally the two water jutsu's should neutralize each other. However originally that fire jutsu also got weakened by a wind jutsu, making Shinobi's A water jutsu slightly stronger. Shinobi A decides then to move to short range, trying to stab the opponent with:

    Rank: A
    Type: Offense
    Range: Short
    Chakra Cost: 30
    Damage Points: 60
    Description: The user must first perform the following sequence of hand seals Ox → Rabbit → Monkey → Dragon → Rat → Bird → Ox → Snake → Dog → Tiger → Monkey and they create a lightning jutsu that is concentrated in the user's palm and thrusted toward the opponent at high speed. The lightning in the user's palm sounds like birds chirping, hence the name.
    Note: Someone who mastered lightning release can perform chidori with just the Ox hand seal.
    Shinobi A finishes his move with this.

    And it's again Shinobi B's turn. As he saw that his fire jutsu got beaten and his water jutsu would be beaten, he can decide to use another jutsu instead of the water. This cycle repeats itself till someone wins.

    Current time frame:

    ➔ Shinobi A uses Wind Release: Great Break Through
    ➔ Shinobi B uses Fire Release: Dragon Flame Release Song Technique
    ➔ Shinobi A uses Water Release: Giant Wave Crash
    ➔ Shinobi B can now react, deciding if he wants to change his earlier move or not.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION(S) ABOUT TRAINING

    What is time frame exactly?
    The time frame is the chronology of a battle, more precise the chronology of everything that truly happened. As explained in this post not all jutsu's or techs posted by an RPer were in the end used by that RPer as a result of the opponent's moves. So for example a battle lasted two turns for each RPer and each turn both of the RPers succeeded in getting only one jutsu through. That creates a time frame of 4 jutsu's in a chronological order.

    Can I help a friend in battle when I see he is losing?
    Unless both the opponent as the friend allow it, no then you can not intervene in a battle. This however applies to normal battles. By default you can't intervene in tournaments or battle tests and the Ninja World has separate rules.

    Do I always have to react on the first jutsu the opponent used?
    The first move of the opponent always goes through, however you are not obliged to use you first jutsu after the opponent's fire move. You can also do it after his 2nd or 3rd move. Of course that rarely happens because most of the time there is an offensive jutsu involved the user has to block to avoid losing, but it's possible that for example your opponent uses several jutsu's that do not harm you and thus don't have to be defended again. Make sure though that you react after a move of the opponent when you do this to keep the time frame simple.

    When does a jutsu beat another jutsu?
    Well there are several factors involved like the type of the jutsu, its scale and range and how it's used. But simplified it's a matter of counting: A-rank beats B-rank, A-rank and A-rank cancel each other out. However when an elemental advantage is in play, the element at a disadvantage will 'downgrade' a rank compared to the other jutsu: A-rank fire beats A-rank wind, the wind would be considered B-rank compared to the A-rank fire jutsu. Also two B-ranks = one A-rank.

    WHAT IS THE NINJA WORLD?

    The Ninja World, NW for short, is a special part of our RP system. In a certain way it can be seen as a community within our RP community that is clearly separated from the other parts of the system, hence why the Ninja World has its own separate section.

    What makes this section so special is that it gives much more depth to the RP experience. Instead of fighting individual, random battles in the Battle Arena, now you can become a member of an organize village, lead by a kage, and ally yourself with one or more villages to go to war with the other ones. Each village has their own section that is only viewable the members of the village. The Ninja World's most prominent aspect is that it leaves a lot of room for improvisation, so you never know how things might turn out. Essentially it's some kind of a “story mode”.

    NINJA WORLD RULES?

    Village Limit:

    You can only join one village at any given time, regardless of how many bios you have. The exception being the Akatsuki members, who can be a member of Akatsuki and the village they are allied to. You can't use alt accounts to become member of multiple villages on multiple accounts.

    Leaving A Village:

    When you want to leave a village, first you leave your current village before you can send in an application to another village. In the meantime you are considered a rogue ninja/missing nin. When you got kicked out of your village, likewise you are a missing nin till you join another village.

    Village Hierarchy:
    Kage - This person has the highest authority in the village and can decide which course a village should take. He is responsible for submitting the village's CJ, accepting/declining member applications and deciding who will get the other important positions in the village. If the Kage does something out of place, he will be replaced.

    First Officer - This is the member that has the right to act on the Kage's behalf while the Kage is away (excluding being kidnapped during a war) so in other words his right hand man/woman.

    Tournament Organizer - This is the member put in charge of organizing the Official Village Tournaments, though this can vary a lot considering organizers can not participate themselves in the tournaments.

    Peace General - This person is in charge of organizing teams/squads and general training inside the village.

    War general - this person organizes armies/squads during a time of war, and is in charge of defending the village. If the Kage is kidnapped during war, the WG is the person that gains complete control over the village.

    Spying:

    Spying and giving out info is officially allowed, but any consequences the Kage sees fit (2 weeks ban from the Ninja World/stripping away villages custom jutsu/execution) will be applied to you. Same rule applies if you borrow your account to someone, allowing them to enter your village.

    Village Custom Jutsus:

    Each village can have max 15 custom jutsus. You can only use these CJ if your Kage allows you to use them. This privilege can be taken away by your Kage or Caliburn. These customs can only be created by the Kage and in the case of you leave the village, by default you lose access to these jutsus unless your Kage stated otherwise just before you are leaving.

    NW Battle & War Rules:

    The NW follows the normal Basic Battle Rules, that are explained in the Battling post of this guide. However because NW battles can become much more complex than regular battles, especially when it concerns all-out wars, there is a special set of NW Battle & War Rules. Because of the length of these rules, which are also referred to as Scary Yamato's rules, they will not be explained in detail in this guide.

    WHICH VILLAGES CAN BE JOINED?

    Villages:


    Konohagakure - The Hidden village of the Leaf, is one of the five great ninja villages. As such, it is one of five villages with a Kage as its leader, known as the Hokage.




    Iwagakure - Hidden village of the Land of Earth. As one of the five great ninja villages, Iwagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Tsuchikage.




    Kirigakure - Located in the Land of Water. As one of the five great ninja villages, Kirigakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Mizukage.




    Kumogakure - Hidden Village of the Land of Lightning. As one of the five Great Ninja Villages, Kumogakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Raikage.




    Sunagakure - The hidden village of the Land of Wind. As one of the five great ninja villages, Sunagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Kazekage.




    Amegakure - The hidden village of the Land of Rain. Even though not officially part of the five great ninja villages, it has dubbed their leader the Amekage.



    Akatsuki - An infamous mercenary group that can only host a select amount of members at any given time. As such they can ally themselves with whichever village they desire.
    HOW TO JOIN A VILLAGE?

    Step #1

    Go to your User CP.

    Step #2

    Scroll down to Group Memberships (which is listed under My Account). Here you will see all the villages listed.

    Step #3

    Next to the village you would like to join, tick the checkbox titled "Join", and press the "Join group" button. When opted, state a reason as to why you would like to join the village

    Step #4

    Wait until the leader of the village you wanted to join accepts/denies your request.

    Step #5

    When accepted you will have to go to the same place in your User CP. In the area that says "Identify me as a user of the following group" select to be identified as a user of the village you just joined. You will gain automatically access to the section of your village (which is a sub-section of the Ninja World section) and have your village bar under your name.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION(S) ABOUT THE NINJA WORLD

    Do I need to have a bio to become a member of a village?
    In fact you don't, however it's strongly advised that you do have one. Each village has different standards for accepting members and they have the right to refuse members. So logically the more experienced you are in RPing, the more useful you will be to the village and thus the chance you will be accepted increases. It remains possible though to be accepted as a non-RPer in a village, but in such a case you act not as a shinobi, but as a 'village citizen' and a such you can't participate in things like wars and battles.

    Aren't there any other villages that I can join?
    Currently these are the only ones available. However if there is a high enough demand for a specific village, a new one (or ones) might be added in the future. The problem is that having too much villages might spread the RP population too thin over all the groups, hence why it can only be possible if there are enough RPers.

    What's the deal with the Samurai?
    Samurai also have a special sub-section in the Ninja World, however this does not count towards one of the villages, hence why it wasn't listed above. Samurai can also be part of another village while being in the Samurai group.

    WHAT ARE CUSTOMS?

    Much like in Naruto Manga each ninja creates techniques or abilities unique to him/her, in Narutobase's RP you can create techniques that better suit your style or your bios. These can encompass simple unique elemental custom techniques, custom illusions, taijutsu moves, custom fighting styles, custom elements, custom clans, custom mangekyo sharingan, etc. The list is very vast and enables each member to be able to create his or her unique style of RP, much like a ninja in the manga can create his own unique set of skills. Custom Elements and Custom Clans are fields so unique that they require their own section in this guide. This part of the Guide encompasses Custom Jutsu and Techniques, Custom Mangekyo Sharingan, Custom Weapons, Custom Fighting Styles and Custom Summons.

    CUSTOM TECHNIQUES/JUTSU?

    These pertain to custom Ninjutsu (elemental or not), Genjutsu, Taijutsu, Fuuinjutsu, Kenjutsu or Kekkei Genkai Techniques.

    CUSTOM WEAPONS?

    These pertain to the submission of Custom Weapons with special abilities. These special abilities vary but generally revolve around unique attacks or defenses or even techniques that can only be used by that weapon. These are bound by the Custom Weapons rules.

    CUSTOM FIGHTING STYLES?

    These pertain to Custom Fighting Styles or custom close combat styles. These are not simple Taijutsu or weapon styles (which can be done by all in freeform for example) but generally unique combinations of either Taijutsu or Kenjutsu with other skills like elemental Ninjutsu or Genjutsu and sometimes even Fuuinjutsu. One cannon example of a Fighting Style is the 4th Raikage's Nintaijutsu Fighting Style. Basically, its an unique form of close combat. Techniques of a given Custom Fighting Style are submitted as regular Customs in the Custom Jutsu Thread.

    CUSTOM SUMMONS/CONTRACTS?

    These pertain to Custom Animal Contracts and Summons for that contract as well as Custom Summons for Cannon Contracts that one might make. While Custom Summons submissions follow the same template as both Custom Jutsu and Custom Weapons, the submission of a Custom Summoning Contract follows a unique template which is explained below.

    -You can submit techniques regardless of your ninja rank but you must obey the following table:

    Example:
    User has training in Earth up to B-Rank (doesn't matter if its one technique or the whole B-Ranks) so he can only submit up to B-Rank earth techniques.
    -This fact is regardless of user rank.

    Example:
    If user is Sage Rank but has training in Water only up to C-Rank he will only be able to submit up to C-Rank Water Techniques.
    -Only exception are submitting D-Ranks of elemental ninjutsu. These can be submitted without training.


    Custom Jutsu Limit


    You can have 35 normal Custom Jutsu, including your custom Weapon. If you are a Sensei, you can make 5 additional customs and upon gaining an Official Sage title you can make another additional 10 techniques. You can 2 Custom Fighting Styles of your own and each can have 10 techniques. You can also sign up to 2 contracts, be them cannon or custom. Custom contracts can have 10 summons while you can make 5 custom summons for cannon contracts.


    Custom Jutsu Users


    -Once you get your first custom technique approved you are required to make your own custom jutsu thread in the Custom Jutsu Users Sub-forum.
    Your thread must follow the rules expressed in this thread, which you can find stickied in the Custom Jutsu Users sub-forum.


    Trading Customs


    The same way that in the manga a ninja can teach another ninja one of his unique techniques, so can members teach their customs to other members. To do so they must create a thread in the Training Grounds where he will teach the other member his custom and how to use it correctly. After the training is complete, the technique can be added to the member's Custom Jutsu Thread (see above point). Its mandatory to put the link to the training thread next to the custom to proof you were trained in it.

    Each custom can only be taught to 6 people each; teachings cannot be revoked on a whim and are otherwise permanent.


    Special Submissions


    When you submit a Custom Summon you need to link the post where that contract was approved or signed or the bio that enables you to use said contract. When you submit Custom Fighting Style Techniques you need to link to the custom fighting style approval post.


    Disclaimer


    NB's moderators have every right to deny any move we wish without true explanation, because some techniques submitted do not reach a certain criteria that we feel should be accepted. Please do not complain, please do not argue, just take it as it is and please move on by creating something else. Most Jutsus however will state a reason why a technique or custom will not be accepted.


    Other Rules

    The submission of Custom Jutsu itself is regulated by other additional rules which you can find in the opening post of the Custom Jutsu Submission Thread.     Step #7: Describe the Jutsu.

    Make a brief description of your jutsu and its effects. Don't forget to make it clear and understandable by using proper grammar. Keep it simple and clean. Also, you are required to make a logical explanation of how you achieve the effect of the jutsu. For example, if you have a technique that states "can detect enemy's location" you are required to explain how that is achieved.

    Step #8: Restrictions.

    Add any restrictions that are deemed necessary for the rank of the technique and its correct use. Usage limit, duration limit, etc. Don't forget to make it logical and simply don't add restrictions in an attempt to make your technique more approvable. Restrictions won't change the fact that your technique may be OverPowered. In terms of logic, it pertains to the correct comprehension of the RP and its skills. For example, a high rank Lava technique would affect your use of Lava and to a minor extent, Fire and Earth but it wouldn't affect your use of Water.

    Step #9: Post and Wait for Approval!

    When you have the technique ready, you go to the Custom Jutsu Submission Thread and post your technique. The Moderator in charge of checking Custom Jutsu will check your submission when the time comes. Once he does you'll find below your technique a note saying "Declined" or "Approved". If your technique is declined, you can resubmit it. However, if it has a DNR or Do Not Resubmit note on it, you cannot.

    Custom Jutsu Template (Explained):

    Title: In this part you put the name of the technique. You need to make both a Japanese name (in Romanji form) and an English name. The same also needs to have the name of the skill/element the technique belongs to.
    Type: This is the type of the technique. Defensive/Defense, Offensive/Attack, Supplementary, Weapon or Summon.
    Rank: Simply the rank, from E-Rank to Forbidden Rank, of your technique.
    Range: The range of your technique, which can be Short Range, Mid/Medium Range or Long Range. It can also be from Short to Mid Range, Short to Long rang or Mid to Long range.
    Chakra: How much chakra does your technique require you to spend to perform it. This is dependent on the Rank of your technique and varies from 5 points to 50. Some technique may need both an initial amount to activate the technique and a certain amount to keep it active.
    Damage: How much damage strength does your technique have, from 10 points to 90 points. Like chakra, this dependent on the Rank of your technique. Forbidden Rank techniques not only do damage to your target if they connect but they also damage yourself upon use.
    Description: Simply the description and restrictions of your technique. Its the logical wording of what your technique does and what its capable off as well as its limits and uses.

    Description: The Smoking Mirror or Obsidian Mirror is a legendary item from Jaguar lore that was a personal item of the Jaguar God, Tezcatlipoca. It consists of a wooden handle that's roughly a foot long attached to an ovular golden frame. Inside the golden frame is a finely crafted black obsidian mirror. When chakra is applied to the mirror the golden frame appears to separate and the mirror floats between the two golden halves while emitting a dense black smoke. The ability to emit smoke allows the user to create smoke techniques through it, increasing their strength in the process. After the mirror is used for a technique it requires a turn to replenish itself. The user can also activate a special ability of the mirror in which it constantly produces a thick black smoke that fills the battlefield for four turns. Since the smoke is created through the user's chakra they're able to sense anything caught within the smoke. Other than its special smoke abilities, it can function as a sturdy war club, though other more standard weapons are better suited for direct physical combat.
    -Can only be wielded by someone capable of summoning Tezcatlipoca.
    -Weapon is indestructible, though it can't break everything.
    -Requires a turn after being used to replenish itself.
    -Special ability can only be used once per battle and lasts four turns.
    -All techniques used through the mirror (including special ability) count as a move in the user's move set.

    Step #3: Chose the type of your Custom Fighting Style.

    This section, while many people blow past it, needs to be accurate because if you want to include a certain ability in your custom fighting style, the type of your style needs to be consistent with whatever that ability may be. For example, if you create a GenTaijutsu style, then your CFS cannot include elemental manipulation unless you include Ninjutsu in the type of style. Stay consistent.

    Step #4: Background.

    This is where you create a short background of your fighting style. Not only do you need to explain the reason that the style was created, but you also need to include anything essential to showing that this style is possible. Do not write a short story here, however. Explain the essentials: who created the style and how, when, and why did they create it. This isn't your biography’s history; we don’t need to hear every detail of the epic battle in which the style was made.

    Step #5: Description and Inner Workings of the Style.

    Obviously, this is the most important and focused part of any good submission. First, allow me to say this, if you do not mention an ability in this section then it does not exist in your style. Second, if you mention an ability in your background but don’t mention it in here, your style will be declined for inconsistencies between the description and history. Speaking of history, this is not where you include additional history of your style. There’s a section for history, and a section for abilities; this is the latter. Everything about how your style works and the abilities included in it should be included right here.

    Step #6: Example Techniques.

    Most of you know by now that this is now a mandatory part of submissions. How many techniques you give as an example is up to you, but a minimum of one is necessary and the checker of your submission reserves the right to ask you to make more examples if he or she does not find your current example(s) adequate.

    Step #7: Additional Effects and Restrictions.

    What you put here is all relative to what is included in the custom fighting style. Meaning that the additional effects that you have need to make sense with the fighting style. If you were submitting a style involving slow and powerful strikes, it hardly makes sense for one of your additional effects to involve increased speed. In addition this is also not where you jam pack a bunch of speed or strength boosting abilities to make your character more powerful. As a general rule, two passive effects are a good amount. That said, you cannot make these effects too great. A custom fighting style is not the place to give your character Lee’s speed or the Raikage’s strength. Finally, if you want to have extensive additional effects, then you’d better have extensive additional restrictions as well.

    Custom Fighting Style Template (Explained):
    Title: This is simply the title of your fighting style. It can be anything you wish as long as it has both a japanese name (in romanji form), an english name and abides by the rules of the forum.
    Type: This pertains to the field of skills your style belongs to. It can be a Nintaijutsu, a NinKenjutsu, a Gentaijutsu, etc etc. The possibilities are endless.
    Background: In this section you simply write a bit of folklore that will create a background story for how your style came to be and how it fits in narutoverse.
    Description on the Abilities and Inner Workings of the Style: This is the more important part. Its here that you'll describe what your custom fighting style can do and what its core abilities. You need to be clear and explain any aspect of the inner working of the style.

Remember that these follow the same template as a normal jutsu submission. They will not be approved if your CFS is approved though, as they only serve as examples.

    Type: Gentaijutsu
    Background:
    Panda's aversion to physical effort and activity (mostly fueled by their dizzy-like movement and mostly drunken and playful behavior) lead them to become below average taijutsu fighters, relying more on their strong affinity to Genjutsu and Fire and Earth Ninjutsu. However, Panda Warriors soon saw that Taijutsu was the core ability to master by every fighter.
    So, by taking advantage of their inherent affinity with Genjutsu and unique form of movement they developed a new type of Taijutsu unique to them: Lazy Fist.

    Description on the Abilities and Inner Workings of the Style:
    This special type of Taijutsu relies on shallow, dull, soft and rapid movements to hit specific places in the opponents body, using their chakra and the impact to disturb the enemy's chakra flow. The disturbance of the chakra flow makes the enemy experience illusions, effectively putting the enemy under Genjutsus. This gives birth to a new technique all together: Gentaijutsu. The damage of a Lazy Fist move is a mixture of both physical damage (from impact) and the strain produced in the enemy's body by the Genjutsu placed upon impact. The impact serves as a medium to trigger the disturbance in the chakra flow through the chakra charged in that move.
    Lazy Fist moves are generally fast but a bit flamboyant, relying on soft rapid touches that inflict below average physical damage (if they did high physical damage, they would auto-release the enemy from the Genjutsu) but, by charging chakra into them, they disturb the enemy's chakra flow. The speed of the moves is slightly higher than that of normal taijutsu and the fighting stances are very soft and fluid instead of firm and strong. Agility and not strength is the core of Lazy Fist but, unlike most agility type taijutsu, the Lazy Fist user moves in a rather apparently uncoordinated manner, almost appearing drunk or dizzy.

    Description:
    The basic stance of Lazy Fist were the user takes a deep breathe and relaxes his muscles and articulations, acquiring a lose, light stance, concentrating his weight on his right leg (or left) and having his left leg (or right) slightly bent and retracted. His arms close to his torso, flexed and with his knuckles facing inwards (middle fingers slightly protruding). By assuming this stance the user immediately becomes slightly faster, more agile and flexible. This basic stance enables the user to throw up to 2 hits (fist jabs or kicks) in quick succession. Each hit gives the enemy the sensation of being hit with sharp, thin, deep needles in the place of impact as a result of the D-Rank genjutsu that each hit produces. This is, like any other Lazy Fist technique, caused by the disturbance produced in the chakra flow upon impact in that specific place.

    Additional effects and Restrictions:
    -Masters of Lazy Fist have increased Agility, Reflexes and Movement Speed when compared to a normal Strong Fist Master
    -Lazy Fist users have generally great chakra control.
    -Lazy Fist moves envolve less physical strength that Strong Fist, thus why a Lazy Fist master without additional training in other forms, will always have less physical strength than a normal Strong Fist Master.

    Description and Background: A hedgehog is any of the spiny mammals of the subfamily Erinaceinae and the order Erinaceomorpha. Hedgehogs are easily recognized by their spines, which are hollow hairs made stiff with keratin. Their spines are not poisonous or barbed and, unlike the quills of a porcupine, cannot easily be removed from the hedgehog. However, spines normally come out when a hedgehog sheds baby spines and replaces them with adult spines. This is called "quilling." When under extreme stress or during sickness, a hedgehog can also lose spines. A defense that all species of hedgehogs possess is the ability to roll into a tight ball, causing all of the spines to point outwards. However, its effectiveness depends on the number of spines, and since some of the desert hedgehogs evolved to carry less weight, they are much more likely to try to run away and sometimes even attack the intruder, trying to ram into the intruder with its spines, and rolling as a last resort.     How do I know what can or can't be submitted?
    Only way is to read the Submission thread regularly to get an idea of what is reasonable or not to be submitted and what can or can't be done.


    If my submission is declined, can I appeal or complain to someone?
    No. The approval or not of your submission is at the discretion of the moderator who checks it. Complaining about such issues is against the rules of the submission threads and may lead to infractions. Just move on and create something else or, if its possible to resubmit, work on it and try to make it approvable.

    How do I know what animals have been made and approved for custom summoning contracts?
    Go to the Approved Customs list and check. Even if its not listed there, the best thing you can do is use the search button in both the Archived, old Custom Jutsu Submission thread and the current Submission thread. Simply use the search button and search for the animal you have in mind to check if someone has already made it before.

    I have an S-Rank Custom technique and I want to teach it to my friend, can I?
    Yes. You make a thread and explain the technique and how its used there. Your firend will learn the technique like he would with a cannon technique. Also, be sure to remember each of your customs can only be taught to 6 people and that you need to put the link to the training in your thread, next to the technique.

    If I see someone submitting something I have submitted before or that I noticed to have been submitted before by someone else, what do I do?
    Simply link the issue to an RP mod. Always link to the original submission and the similar submission so that the mod can rectify the situation.

    WHAT ARE CUSTOM ELEMENTS?

    Custom elements, CE for short, are, as the name implies, elements that do not appear in the manga/anime and are made by the RPers themselves. Of all the aspects that our RP system consists of, custom elements is probably the one that speaks the most to the imagination of any RPer. Not only are most CE stronger than normal elements, but they can be used by any bio the RPer uses, regardless of what type of bio it is and which KG/HA/other abilities the bio has. Of course CE are bound by a set of rules, but compared to most other restricted abilities, they're quite lenient when it comes to combining them with different skills in a single bio.

    Outside 'power', CE also mean 'prestige'. It's some kind of an unwritten rule that, if you don't have at least one CE, you are not a full-fletched RPer yet. It's one of the highest achievements you can possibly obtain while RPing. Even more so when you realize that it's not quite easy to get a CE approved and that each CE can only be used by a select few people. It's even possible that a single person has a complete monopoly on a CE, resulting in him practically having his own, personal and unique KG (though CE are officially never labelled as such).

    CE RULES?

    CE Limit Rule:

    You are allowed to have a maximum of 2 CE of your own, and be a Co-Creator of a maximum of 3 other Custom Elements, however you can only use 4 CE max.

    First CE Rule:

    To submit your first CE you have to be of kage rank, and be on the forum longer then 10 months.

    Second CE Rule:

    To submit your second CE you have to be of kage rank, and be on the forum longer then 18 months.

    CE Weakness Rule:

    Your CE has to have a weakness against at least two basic canon elements.

    Co-Creator Rules:

    You are allowed to have only one co-creator, which has to be of kage rank to be able to use it. Once added as a co-creator, it's irreversible and after a CE is approved, no co-creator can be added anymore.

    CE Student Rules:

    You can pass your Custom Element down to a maximum of two students (per CE), however to do this the creator needs to have a valid sensei status. If you are using a CE, while not being listed as a student, you will be punished. Also once added as a student it's irreversible. Students can be added by an RP mod after a CE got approved.

    CE Template:

    Every CE has to follow the CE template, no exceptions.

    CE JUTSU RULES?

    Basic CJ Rules:

    On most aspects CE jutsu's follow the same rules and guidelines as normal custom jutsu's explained in the Custom Jutsu Submission thread and in the CJ part of this guide. Like it follows the same template, chakra cost, damage points etc. The parts where they are different however, are explained below.

    CE Jutsu Limit Rule:

    You can have a total of 12 jutsu's per CE, meaning a max of 48 in total. These, logically, do not count towards the 35 CJ limit rule of normal CJ.

    Submitting CE Jutsu Limit Rule:

    Unlike normal CJ, where you can only submit max 3 CJ at the same time, there is no limit on how much CE jutsu's you can post simultaneously.

    CE Jutsu Submission Thread:

    CE jutsu's have to be posted in a different thread than normal custom jutsu's, namely the Custom Element Jutsu's thread, which can be found in the Jutsu section.

    HOW TO MAKE A CE?

    Step #1

    First read the CE rules listed above and see that you fit all the requirements to post a CE.

    Step #2

    Check whether the CE you want to submit doesn't already exist or has already been submitted before. You can find all the current official CE in the Approved Custom Elements thread. To see which CE have been submitted so far, check the current Custom Elements Bureau and the previous Custom Elements Bureau. It's important to know that a CE that's too similar and/or is too closely related to an already existing CE, will be declined. So don't just search on the names, but also the contents of CE as their names can be deceiving.

    Step #3

    When you are certain you have found a potential new CE, go to the CE Bureau thread in the Jutsu section where all CE have to be posted.

    Step #4

    To make your CE, you copy paste the CE Template (which is stated in the first post of the Bureau), follow it correctly and fill it in. The most important thing you have to do when explaining your CE is to prove that the element is possible in the Narutoverse and to prove that it's possible to make it.

    Step #5

    When you submitted your CE in the Bureau, just wait patiently for an RP mod to check it. If it's declined, it will say 'Declined' at the bottom of the post, if it's approved an official certificate will be added under the CE and it will be added to the Approved CE thread.

    Here you state the Japanese name of your CE.

    Custom element English name:

    Here you state the English name of your CE.

    The element is based on:

    Here you state what the CE is made out of, for instance Wood Release is based on the combination of water and earth chakra, ice on water and wind chakra etc. In most cases a CE will be based on the mixture of several elements, however other things like genjutsu aren't impossible.

    Facts that prove the element to be possible (in the manga context):

    This is one of the most important parts when making a CE. Here you need to prove that the CE you are trying to make is possible within the Narutoverse. For instance if you try to make an Oil CE, you need to prove that oil exists in the Naruto world. If you don't succeed in that, well then it's impossible for your CE to be approved.

    How it works:

    This is the 2nd part that's very important. Here you need to prove that it's possible to make this CE and thus explain how you make it. Even if you succeed in proving that it is possible in the Naruto context, that doesn't automatically mean you can use it as an element. A lot of people let themselves get fooled by that. Also in this part you should actually explain already why your CE would be strong against that, but weak against this. You should elaborate on all its qualities providing a solid base for each one of them, don't just start assuming things.

    Usage Examples:

    Here you post some jutsu's of your CE. The point of these jutsu's is to show the RP mod who checks your CE how you are now exactly planning to use your CE, hence you are not obliged to place restrictions on these jutsu's.

    Conditions to be able to use it:

    What are the requirements for your CE? For example Wood Release is based on Earth and Water Release, so training -even mastering- would be a requirement in the hypothetical case it wouldn't be a canon element.

    Is weak to:

    Here you state to what your element now is exactly weak. This should be mainly a list of both canon as custom elements, though depending on the CE, it might be other stuff like taijutsu or genjutsu. Provide short the reason why this element is weak would be useful too, however normally that should already have been explained earlier.

    Is strong against:

    Same comment as above, only this time for what your CE now strong is against.

    Co-creator:

    Here you state the co-creator, max one. Can't be added anymore when a CE is approved.

    Here you state the students of the CE if you're a sensei, max 2, can be added after approval.


    Example of an Approved CE:

    The element is based on: Water + Earth + Chakra manipulation/chakra control

    Facts that prove the element to be possible (in the manga context):

    This element is based on the mixture of Water and Earth, this combination has been shown to create wood in the Manga/Anime but in a different proportion it could easily create a Mud-Like mixture that would react differently to stress depending on the amount of force and stress placed on it. Instead of being fluid like water while under stress it would be hard like Earth due to the change in viscosity. This can be accomplished by coating the fluid in chakra or an outside force such as Wind or Water from an opponent's jutsu which would place the liquid under enough stress to maintain a solid. While there is no stress on the substance it would act as a fluid like water and have no hard properties to it easily flowing across the battlefield. This can be used to do many things such as create projectiles, as well as large scale jutsu that can leave the opponent coated in a fluid that would highly restrict movement. This would be dependent on how and if the opponent struggles. Oobleck is a lot like quicksand in that when you fight it or you struggle it simply works against you making movement even harder.

    How it works:

    Oobleck is a non-newtonian fluid. It acts like a fluid when poured or when flowing but when an outside stress or excess force is applied it acts as a solid. Oobleck is created when 1 part water chakra is added to a 1.5 part of earth chakra. Oobleck is a Dialant which basically acts like a solid under stress and a liquid when no stress or outside force is added.

    Dilatant: A shear thickening fluid, also called a dilatant, is a Non-Newtonian fluid where the shear viscosity increases with applied shear stress. This behavior is only one type of deviation from Newton’s Law, and it is controlled by such factors as particle size, shape, and distribution. Shear thickening behavior occurs when a colloidal suspension transitions from a stable state to a state of flocculation. Oobleck is an example of a dilatant it acts differently under stress than that of a normal Newtonian fluid.

    Description: The user molds a mixture of water chakra and earth chakra forming a mass of Oobleck in the persons gut. He then performs 1 hand seal (Boar) and moves the mixture from his gut to his mouth. He can then expel the Oobleck from his mouth forming it into projectiles, nets, or small tools/weapons. As he expels the mixture he coats it in chakra giving it shape and making it retain a form until impact with a target where the Oobleck loses it's solid properties covering the opponent in a thick gooey liquid that can impede movement making the opponent slowed due to the excess weight of the Oobleck as well as it's sticky properties.

    Description: The user mixes Earth and Water chakra inside of their gut and performs two hand seals (Hare-Snake). The user than expels a gooey wall much like Water Encampment Wall it forms in front of the user he maintains the Snake hand seal using a coating of chakra which holds the wall up. It will block most projectile type jutsu as well as Ninja tools. The Oobleck can then be released and used as a source for other jutsu that require a small-medium source.
    -Can only be used 3 times per battle


    Conditions to be able to use it: Master both Doton and Suiton.

    Is weak to:

    Lightning, Fire, Heating elements such as Temperature release that will boil off the water as well as cooling elements that could freeze the water

    Is strong against:

    Wind, Water, Sound, any element that forces an outside pressure/stress/force onto the substance.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION(S) ABOUT CUSTOM ELEMENTS

    Can I submit a CE that already has been submitted by someone, but got declined?
    That depends on the situation. By default when a CE is declined, the submitter has the right to submit it again, unless specifically stated he can't anymore. However when it's obvious or there are reasons to assume the original submitter isn't planning on submitting it again, you can submit it. For instance that person himself said it or he has been inactive for months or he can't submit it anymore due to one reason or another.

    Are the jutsu examples in the CE submission automatically approved when the CE is approved?
    No, CE jutsu's have to be posted in a separate thread after the CE got approved. The purpose of the jutsu's in the submission is to show how you are planning to use the element in the form of jutsu's.

    Can I submit a CE before I have all the requirements to submit one and just wait to get it checked when I do have them?
    No, you submit a CE when you are allowed to submit it, not sooner.

    WHAT ARE CUSTOM CLANS?

    Custom clans, CC for short, are, as the name implies, clans that do not appear in the manga/anime and are made by the RPers themselves. Of all the aspects that our RP system consists of, custom clans is probably the number two that speaks the most to the imagination of any RPer, only having to tolerate custom elements before them. Custom clans are overall seen quite powerful. Unlike CE, CC can have a set of custom abilities (logically related with each other), while CE are limited to 'one' ability. Also the logic behind being able to use those abilities is relatively seen less important compared to CE.

    Outside 'power', CC also mean 'prestige', just like CE. This is because of the extreme rarity of these clans due to the requirements to make them, the difficulty to get them approved and the limited amount of people that can be in one clan. CE get approved regularly, but CC only on very rare occasions.

    WHAT ARE SAGES?

    First and foremost it's important to note that we are talking here about official NB sages and not unofficial sages (aka sage in posts). It's not that they are not related with each other as every official sage is also a sage in post, but vice versa is seldom the case. The difference is that everyone who reaches 10 000 posts becomes automatically an unofficial sage, but to become an official sage, you need to pass a test.

    Sages are very closely related with CC and one can't be discussed without mentioning the other. The reason being is that only the people who have the right to submit a CC, are official NB sages. Hence also the reason why there are not so many custom clans. Any additional benefit is that official sages also get 10 extra custom jutsu slots.

    CC RULES?

    Sage Rank and Mission Rule:

    You need to be of sage rank -10 000 posts-, have finished all the basic training (5 basic elements, basic tai-, nin- and genjutsu) and have passed a sage mission before you can submit a CC.

    Doujutsu Rule:

    Vision KGs/abilities will not be allowed, we have enough of them already, so you will need to find inspiration for your custom abilities elsewhere.

    Combo Rule:

    You can't start mixing up already existing abilities or KG for your CC.

    CC Members Limit Rule:

    The maximum population of a CC is restricted to 25 members.

    Social Group Rules:

    When your CC is approved, you need to make a social group for it with the clan's name as the title of the group. This is needed to keep tabs on the clan, to see whether they follow all the rules. People who aren't part of this group, are not part of the clan.

    HOW TO MAKE A CC/BECOME A SAGE?

    Step #1

    First read the CC rules listed above and see that you fit all the requirements to request a sage mission (and eventually making a CC).

    Step #2

    When you fit all the requirements, contact RokuNR by sending him a PM with the title 'Sage Mission Request'. He will then proceed by giving you your task. This mission is unique for each person and can be anything. While some people will only need to use their brawl, others will need to use their brains. Some people might need to go on a scavenger hunt, while other people have to preform a simple, but a very exhausting task.

    Step #3

    When you have finished your mission, contact RokuNR again, who will review it and decide whether you have succeeded or failed the mission. If you pass, you can choose your own, unique sage title and you will be added to the NarutoBase Official Sages thread. This thread can be found in the Battle Arena section.

    Step #4

    When your have been acknowledged as an official sage, you can submit your CC in the Custom Clans Submission thread and just wait for approval. This thread can be found in the Jutsu section. When it's approved a certificate will be added at the bottom of your post.

    Step #5

    If you succeed in getting your CC approved, make a social group for it and you can start recruiting members. Social groups can be made here.

    Here you state the name of your clan.

    Founder:

    Here you state the name of who made the clan. Co founders can be added, however the original founder has to be an official sage.

    History of the Clan:

    Here you include a background story on how your specific clan was conceived, where the clan came from and how, all within the context of the Narutoverse. It should be detailed enough so that anyone who looks at your clan would be able to tell something very specific about it.

    Special Abilities:

    This is, by far, the most important part of the template and should be where you should spend the most of your time on explaining. Here you will describe your clans abilities and the mechanics behind the abilities. As far as approval goes, this part will be under the most scrutiny

    Location:

    Here you state where your clan is located. It can be a village like Konoha or Kiri, a meeting place, a headquarters or something of the like. You can also make up your own place, though it still has to be logical (no alternate dimension or whatever).

    Purpose:

    Discuss here why your organization exists and what they want to accomplish. Does world domination sound like music to your ears?

    Special Info:

    Here you explain the ranking system [if applicable] and other conditions of members or of the organization itself.

    Requirements:

    Here you explain how one can become a member? What do they have to do? And what can get you kicked out of the clan?

    Founder: Roku Kiyoshi (RokuNR)

    History of the Clan:

    The Kiyoshi Clan, founded by Roku Kiyoshi, is a clan of great skill in the use of ninjutsu. Roku, having studied chakra philosophy and living on Sage Island since he was young, is great at chakra control and understands the mechanics of chakra control fully. Due to an experiment by BishamonSama that went awry, he is able to manipulate water at his will, and he stays in tune with Nature in order to enhance his abilities. One day, Roku figured out the mechanics behind chakra manipulation and created a form of chakra known as “energy manipulation”. He went on to create the Kiyoshi Clan for those who wished to learn the true philosophy of chakra. It is highly organized.

    Special Abilities:

    (This is not like the Hyuuga Bloodline >_> Hyuuga Bloodline deals with striking chakra points. Kiyoshi ability deals with powerful strikes and giving attacks a more explosive and pulsive effect as well as using energy) The secret to the Kiyoshi Clan’s abilities lies in utilizing chakra at its purest and most natural (and semi-tangible) form. This ranges from shooting pulses of energy to using chakra to expand the range of weapons to surging one’s chakra into another’s body through contact. Members of the Kiyoshi Clan focus much of their effort in acquiring the ability to focus in on and sense Energy so that they can gather the Energy from the environment and utilize it. As such, the members that are more adept at feeling Energy can locate the specific Energy sources of living entities (trees, animals, and most human beings) and non-living objects alike since all things of the world, in Kiyoshi Philosophy, give off some sort of energy of their own, be it spiritual, physical, or natural (physical energy is extremely difficult to sense because of its lack of metaphysical properties). The Kiyoshi Clan’s fighting style is a mix of Tai Chi (to control calm movement of energy, best utilized by Kiyoshi Masters), Hung Ga (to control stable and powerful movement of energy), and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu (for close combat). The Kiyoshi Clan’s energy is based to be sent out in pulses. When in combat, they can utilize the energy, which causes their hands and/or feet to glow whatever color coincides with their personality and ability [green, blue, red, white, ect. (Distinct colors only occur in Kiyoshi Generals and higher)] and when they direct an attack, right before contact an invisible/visible “pulse” of chakra is sent out of their fists/feet to make an explosive effect when a clan member delivers a punch or kick that can send the opponent back many feet. Movement also plays a big role in the use of pure chakra/energy. The larger/bigger the motion during movement made to utilize energy, the more energy will be produced. Masters of the Kiyoshi art are signified by a significant glow in their eyes when utilizing the energy, and they can use it much more effectively than normal members. The ability is called Konki Myaku (Energy Pulse). (The reason why those with Kekei Genkai cannot utilize the ability is because their chakra is different from regular chakra and their bloodline effects their chakra in a way that it is configured to work a certain way, thus their chakra can never be “pure”. People with Tailed Beasts can learn to purify their chakra, but it would be nearly impossible due to their bijuu’s influence on their chakra.)

    Location:

    The Kiyoshi Clan does not reside in one permanent place. It is spread out across the world, comprised of 7 settlements that are numbered 1-7. Each settlement is headed by a Kiyoshi Clan Master, but there is one meeting place that all Kiyoshi Members meet on special occasions, and also a meeting place for the Kiyoshi Masters or Sages. They are not particularly aligned with any one village, for the way of chakra belongs to no one village. Members of the clan may be part of a Shinobi village however.

    Purpose:

    The Kiyoshi Clan exists to better understand the nature and philosophy of chakra and chakra control. To do so, one must be in tune with nature.

    Special Info:

    Not all members of the Kiyoshi Clan possess the special ability known as the Konki Myaku. It is only once a person understands chakra’s nature and how to utilize it in the purest form can they learn and begin to master the Energy Pulse ability. One must be at least Jonin Rank to begin the training needed to acquire the skill to use energy. The ranking system is as follows…

    Associate: The lowest rank. These people are simply associated with the Kiyoshi Clan.

    Clan Member: These people are officially part of the Kiyoshi Clan and have access to the standard clan member utilities and other things.

    Student of Philosophy: Students have just begun their training in the philosophy of chakra.

    Kiyoshi Novice: Novices have basic knowledge of the chakra and energy that the Kiyoshi Clan warriors use.

    Humble Apprentice: Apprentices are the students of a Kiyoshi Master or Philosopher. Apprentices of a philosopher seek to explore the greater knowledge of pure chakra while Apprentices of a Master study the philosophy (though less than those studying under a philosopher), but also study the battle style as well. Depending on their amount of training, they may be weaker or stronger than an average Kiyoshi Warrior. Apprentices are very few and can be exempt from the Kiyoshi military style rankings.

    Kiyoshi Warrior: Warriors have good knowledge of Kiyoshi fighting style and also chakra philosophy. They are the most active group when it comes to battle.

    Kiyoshi General: They are the strongest Kiyoshi Warriors and lead a squadron of Kiyoshi Warriors.

    Philosopher: Wise and peaceful, they study Chakra Philosophy and are very well respected by the members of the Kiyoshi Clan. They sometimes have a complete and full understanding of the Kiyoshi Clan’s abilities and are able to fight on par with a Kiyoshi General, but they choose not to due to their peaceful nature.

    Kiyoshi Master: There are 4 Kiyoshi Masters in total and they are said to be the strongest in the clan. Their skill in battle greatly exceeds that of a Kiyoshi General in that they can defeat one with relative ease while using only basic techniques. They are the leaders of 4 settlements total and lead each settlement with great wisdom (with the help of Philosophers).

    Kiyoshi Sage: They are the wisest and most powerful members of the Kiyoshi Clan. Only 3 exist, and their power is said to be on par with, or perhaps greater than the Kiyoshi Masters. They have absolute knowledge of chakra philosophy, pure chakra, and the Energy Pulse. The Sages are very peaceful.

    Requirements:

    Anyone can become a member of the Kiyoshi Clan if deemed worthy or if they request and the leader(s) see fit to add them to the clan. They can be kicked out if they abuse their abilities, commit treason, or kill a fellow Kiyoshi who has done nothing to provoke an attack. They cannot have a Kekei Genkai.

    Absolutely not. You can only write about CC when you are an official sage and have your CC approved.

    Can I change the ownership of my CC?
    Unofficially you can leave your clan and put someone else in charge, leave everything to that person and have no interest whatsoever in your own clan, but officially you still remain the founder as that clan was approved for you, not for anyone else.
