It went from DBZ-style (Part 2) back to early day style (Part 1)
I mean...
I'm so used to seeing sage modes, Susano'os, guys who have 1000 puppets, guys who can fuse with a sword, a guy with 5 hearts, a Guy who can open 7 gates...then all of a sudden, the manga goes back to kunai and sword fights?
I loved the latest chapter, but I feel like the power levels are all over the place. One of the most baddest Uchihas to ever walk the earth was just killed by a sword. Somewhat anti-climatic, but it does remind me of Minato's style at least...

No sarcasm intended.
That was a very astute observation. ^^

Because that was in the past, not now in the present.

yeah I actually prefer that style of fighting I think it looks cooler when the big fights are animated out.

Yeah but it´s classy too.
Let us not forget and please mark my words, EVERYTHING CHANGED WITH HASIRAMA AND MADARA, in the sense that I believe Kishi is letting us know, power leaped from throwing kunais at each other, to intense chakra and nature manipulation at a grand scale.
No more 1 vs. 5 but 1 vs. 30 and the solo-guy being the winner. That´s why they got 2 gigantic statues of them at the outskirts of their region.

ONLY BECAUSE THIS IS A FLASHBACK.
When we go back to current time, it will be DBZ to the max... again

Well, I guess fighting all day long with jutsus would tire you out rather quickly. Easier to swing a sword than create a water dragon out of thin air.

They fought more like real ninja back then. They probably only used a lot of powerful jutsu when it was more one on one battles

this is true, and that's why previous ninjas aren't as impressive anymore, not even pain is impressive in my opinion

First of all the powers didn't revert, the time did so if anything it follows suit with part 1 being stronger than the flashback and part 2 stronger than 1. Also we don't know that Izuna is dead yet just injured and since he hasn't given his eyes to Madara I'd hazard a guess that says he'll be around for a few more chapters.

From what I've seen this actually the reverse of what you've said Hasi and Madara are on a high than EVERYONE that has come behind them. We saw a few chapters ago a susano'o bigger than any we have seen used better than any we have and summon bigger than anything we have seen summond. Apparently they were stronger in the past and weaker in the future/present. And yes it was very anitclimatic that izuna was ended in that fashion...followed by Madara just laying on the ground waiting to be killed

It was Obito in his "revelation" to Sasuke that told us Izuna was on par with Madara. Clearly, from Hashirama's flashback, Izuna was weak. Taken out by an also seemingly weak Tobirama..
