Why did Madara keep his Sharingan hidden?

How come Madara kept his Sharingan a secret from Izuna & Tajima? If you remember, when Madara challenged Hashirama to a vision contest he said "I have a sha..." and then he broke off, a little while later when both clans are spying and Tajima & Izuna come and Madara awakens his Sharingan, Izuna & Tajima seemed surprised and only found out then.

Why did Madara keep it a secret?

either a plot hole which would be very amateur or he thought he would be assigned more missions. kishi really made uchiha look weak in this chapter and it has deducted lots of my interest. madara without sharingan is stronger than most uchiha at that age? then hashirama is stronger than most uchiha at that age? Tobirama kills izuna then Madara makes an agreement with them. He makes them look like *****es, in fact that just demolished the whole naruto series. WHats so speacial about uchiha. ppl as weak as tsunade are wiping the floor with them.

OT: the answer is simple 1) a plot hole , 2) he intentionally did not reveal it to his family as they wuld use it fr real bad purpose(killing the senju shit)..

He could just be referring to it as Obito did in the Kakashi Gaiden chapters. Though, I believe it could also be that it was symbolic, and that he was now believing that peace could not be achieved with Hashirama (and the Senju), and thus willingly showed that he was ready to fight. Just my opinion though.

He was exaggerating his power. He didn't have Sharingan yet, but knew someday he would awaken it.
Either that, or he just awakened it that day. Then the next day, they met up for the family feud.

That was his first time awakening it...Hashi said that "you must love your eyes" to which madara responded "well i have sha-", That just means that madara was referring to his eyes in general, not just the sharingan

May be he didnt wanna brag about it or he didnt want to be used as weapon in war. Who knows whats real reason.

Probably madara didnt want big involvement in war. With sharingan he would be expected to fight as he would be very useful

I was just thinking about this too! I think its probably because he didn't want more mission. It was stated that Madara killed capable Senju adults so it could be possible that he already had it
