山本 武 Yamamoto Takeshi | The Rain Guardian
“We’ll shape our future with our own hands.” - Yamamoto Takeshi
Name: 山本 武 Yamamoto Takeshi
Nickname: Yamamoto | Vongola Rain Guardian | Baseball Head
Yamamoto is a about 5'7, thin teenage boy. He has navy ble shaggy hair, and represents the physical likeness of a warrior. Though he is very social, he has a strange charm to him. Normally,
Yamamoto is the type of character that can make friends with everyone, and if not friendship, then at least respect. Characters like Hibari have been shown to have interest in Yamamoto's battles, and Squalo has also shown to have interest in his development to the point of willingly tutoring him. However, Yamamoto can become angry when his friends are hurt or injured. He is also willing to sacrifice things important to him to save his friends from danger, as shown in the Kokuyo Arc. where he sacrificed an arm (right before an important baseball game) to defeat Ken; and when Squalo asked him whether he would choose baseball or the sword, he chose the sword in order to protect those he cared about.Despite his easy-going personality, Yamamoto has shown that he has hidden talent as a Nainja. In fact, Reborn clearly sees Yamamoto's potential and often mentions to Tsuna that Yamamoto is a natural born Ninja, mentioning as well that he is a great athlete.

History: Yamamoto hails from one of the lower branch families of the Yuki clan. Despite being among one of Kiri's most noble clan's was raised in poverty as his family and lineage were outcasts even among the Yuki's.
Over a century ago, before the founding of Kirigakure the Yuki's were widely recognized throughout the shinobi world at the time. Their services in the Feudal War Era were difficult to acquire due to their high status and reputation, which was comparable to the Uchiha and Senju. As well as being high class warriors, the Yuki's were of a high nobility as well, valuing honor, respect, but most importantly, tradition. Even before the founding of Kirigakre, the Yuki separated their families into distinct households. The Head Household was still held in the highest regard and led the clan, however the branch families were classified as well into different levels: the Higher Rink, Middle Rink, and Lower Rink. Each Rink represented a higher prestige among the Yuki and their rink was given only to those that demonstrated the highest level of skill and recognition in battle during the Feudal War Era. The higher the skill and notoriety members of a family received in war, the better chances there were of the Head Household of placing the family in a higher rink.
In the early years of Kiri, the Parker household of the Yuki were amongst the few within the Higher Rink of the Yuki clan. The Parkers's skills were said to be as strong as the members of the Head Household and were possibly better. In the Yuki clan, this family was the highest next to the Head Family and they were respected and treated almost as equals to the Yuki head family. However the Parkers would fall and lose all their prestige in a single night.
It was the first Kumogakure incident with the Yuki clan. Shodaime Raikage ordered the capture of a Hyouton user in order to develop the rare kg themselves. In the debt of night, Kiri was infiltrated by members of Kumo's Kinkaku unit, Kumo's most elite team of shinobi. The shinobi were discovered, however, not before the heir to the Yuki clan and eldest son of the Parker household were kidnapped. Wishing to deal with the matter themselves, the Yuki sent out their own in attempts to rescue the two captives, but more importantly, the heir to the main household.
The Parker family head, along with 7 other Yuki were sent to deal with the Kumogakure shinobi. What eventually ensued was a battle between the 8 Yuki and the squad of 4 from Kumo. Though the Yuki had the advantage in numbers, the skills of the Kumo shinobi proved most formidable. Of the 8 Yuki, only three would remain, having only managed to kill one of the Kumo shinobi. The Kumo shinobi manage to flea, but in a fit of desperation to get the Yuki off them, they activate a trap which manages to catch two of the Yuki shinobi rendering them, while the Parker leader remains in pursuit. Deciding that only one of their captives are needed, the Kumo shinobi set up a trap, leaving the Parker's eldest son as bait while the Kumo ninja made off with the heir of the clan. Without hesitation, the Parker Yuki diverts his attention in order to save his own son rather than go after the the heir. The trapped proved fatal for the Parker shinobi, however he managed to save his son. The remaining two Yuki, successfully escaping from their quickly realize what has occurred and they continue their pursuit of the heir. With the surprised assistance of The Second Mizukage, the heir of the Yuki clan was successfully rescued and the Kumo shinobi killed.
Despite the success of the rescue, the Yuki were not done with the dark affair. The word of the Parker leader's actions to save his own child over the heir was quickly spread throughout Kiri. Though less of an issue in the other parts of the village, in the Yuki clan, the situation was looked at with much disgrace on the Parker leader. Despite the ranking of the Yuki's the priority always was the preservation of the Head Household. The curse marks were bestowed upon all but the Head house even before the founding of Kiri. The Parker family leader's actions brought disgrace to their family. The rumors throughout the Yuki circled about the actions.
“He felt he was more important than the main family.”
“His high status made him feel equal to our leaders, what arrogance.”
“His arrogance almost destroyed our clan and people, he deserved what he got.”
It was after this incident that the ranking of the Yuki's stopped. The Head Household decided that, to prevent further actions such as the first incident, they would humble every one of the branch families to the same level of regard: “No family is important besides the main family.” Every Yuki was from then onward, held the same throughout the rest of the village, as the honorable Yuki clan, but amongst themselves, the Yuki were only a pack of shinobi bred to protect and preserve their clan through the Head Household.
The Parker family, however, was still seen as the lowest of the low. Many amongst the Yuki saw them as the arrogant family that almost destroyed their culture. Few families that once belonged to the higher rink, resented them for destroying the cast system and taking the honor they worked so hard to achieve.
Takeshi belonging to the Yamamoto house is looked down just the same just like his predecessors before him. His family grew up meager due to the demands of the resentful Head household. The treatment of him and his family made Yamamoto a shy and timid boy all his life though he never felt ashamed of his life or family. Yamamoto's family still acted with honor and grace and they served their clan and village without hesitation or resentment. Yamamoto's father told him of the sacrifice his ancestor made that put them in this position, however he doesn't look back at it with sorrow or shame. Yamamoto's father told him that the Yuki's traditions were contradictory to the relationships of parents and their children.
“I, as a member of the Yuki clan will give my life to protect and uphold the main household. As a father I will abandon my clan for the sake of my child.”
“To ask for a parent to sacrifice the life of their child for another is just the same as asking them to slit their child's throat themselves. The day I condom my own child to death is the day I condom myself to the same fate.”
Yamamoto never felt threatened around his father nor question him. The dedication Yamamoto's father had towards the Yuki clan was immense and praise worthy, which only served to strengthen the devotion to his own family.
At the age of 8, Yamamoto's father would leave for a mission with Hiashi Yuki at the request of Konoha and the rest of the Yuki. Yamamoto's father would not return from the mission, sacrificing himself to save Hiashi from certain death.
The death of Yamamoto's father devastated him both him and his mother. Yamamoto's tears would flow every day for months in morning. Even after the day after day crying, the mere thought of his father would bring Yamamoto to his knees. As for his mother, she fell silent and cold.
Her relationship with Yamamoto was as any loving mother to her son while Takeshi ('s father) was around. After Takeshi's death, she began to become more distant from Yamamoto and less involved with him. The resemblance Yamamoto has to his father as well as his deep rooting pain made it difficult for Yamamoto's mother to interact with him without surfacing her own pain.
Though his father's death was due to the Yuki tradition, Yamamoto never forgot the words of his father.
“You are a Yuki, you are to serve our clan and their ways no matter how much they may hurt.” Takeshi says in a solemn voice
“But why...they all hate us and how are we ever supposed to be happy?” Yamamoto asks curiously
Takeshi looks in silence for a moment at the ground of the Yuki shrine they sit in, “The clan and its traditions hold us in shackles just as if we were caged birds. We have no freedom unless that cage is unlocked by somebody.” Takeshi says.
“What do you mean?” Yamamoto says confused.
“There is somebody...somebody who can let you out of that cage, somebody who can liberate you from these traditions.” Takeshi says with a soft smile emerging on his face
“I don't understand?”
“When you can denounce the traditions and protect what you love, that is your freedom.”
“Protect what you love?”
Takeshi looks up and into his son's eyes with look of serene seriousness“Yes...what liberates us from our clan...what unlocks the shackles and the cage doors is love. When you find those people you love more than anything, you will do anything to protect them. They mean more to you than any tradition ever could because the feelings of the heart have been a tradition in human begins since the beginning of time.”
“Love...” Yamamoto says softly
Takeshi gets a warm smile on his face as he looks at his son, “When those people enter your lives, they unlock the cage and set you free. Yamamoto, if you take anything from me, please take what I'm telling you right now.”
During Yamamoto's final year of the shinobi academy, he was beaten up by two members of his clan before he was rescued by another academy student. The kid stood up for Yamamoto against the two Yuki. However the heroism of the kid was short lived as the two Yuki quickly rendered the kid with their Hyouton techniques, paralyzing the boy and leaving him in pain. As the two Yuki went to further terrorize the student, Yamamoto, in a display of surprising skill unleashed rendered both the Yuki's with a sword made of ice. The skills demonstrated surprised both the Yuki and the other academy student present, as well as the stern look on the young Yuki's face.
“Yes dad, I promise I'll never let down those I care about.”
Protected by one of his soon to be many friends, Yamamoto found the key to unlock the cage he was bound to. The cage of the Yuki and the cage of his shyness. In the face of adversity, Yamamoto rises to the challenge for the sake of his friends and comrades . Yamamoto completed his training and passed the academy exams at age 12. Since then, he's devoted his training to protecting those that helped free him from his cage. From this day on, Yamamoto traveled the ninja world, eventually reaching Amegakure. While in Ame, Yamamoto picked up on an element known as Rain and join Taka.
