Since its founding, developer Quantic Dream has been known for its single-player experiences. When it came into the PlayStation-exclusive fold with 2010’s Heavy Rain, its single-player-only pedigree continued unabated. And its upcoming PS3 game, Beyond: Two Souls, is also single-player-only.

But this may be changing, if a report on Kotaku is any indication. The site dug up a job listing for a “lead online programmer” that requires “very deep and high knowledge ofonline [sic] gaming / network developments.” Kotaku notes that Quantic Dream is “also looking for a candidate that has previously worked on a shipped multiplayer AAA title with significant experience in multiplayer gaming.”

Whether this is a firm indication that Quantic Dream’s next project – likely its recently-revealed PlayStation 4 game -- will be multiplayer or not remains to be seen. They could just be looking into the multiplayer scene, or they could be ready to jump in. Either way, it’s unlikely we’ll find out any time soon.
