That shotgun was in a normal village with a normal store, it wasn't used by a ninja. The Naruto World is not set in a primitive time line. We have seen robots like one of Pain's bodies ...(robot, doll, whatever, it shoots rockets and explosives) ... and that is in contradiction with what Kishimoto said in an interview:

- Do you have any rules about what is definitely not allowed to be drawn in the "Naruto" world?

K: Firstly, projectile weapons such as guns aren't allowed. (The one exception is Inari's bowgun.) Guns aren't suited to ninja. Gunpowder is used in the anime,though I don't think it should be there. Yeah, missiles are the end... now who's laughing? I guess one of the 3 faces of that missle launcher Pain does.

Yet they have electricity..... gunpowder was discovered in the 9th century and the history of the light bulb begins in the year 1802 ... so...yeah, Naruto is set in modern times, but Kishi preferred to keep things simple, because it is a ninja world, so that shotgun, well, it's something that we can ignore.

Maybe Madara`s New eye`s moon plan(or something like that) is an atom - boom whice he plans to drop on all of the main villages

It has to be:

a: A drawing misstake.

B: It just looks like a shotgun, but maybe its some kind of a bat or something.

c: Something odd is happening here:confused:

I acctually remeber a guy from one of the Naruto anime fillers!

A little recap:

Remember the filler where there was a guy who was a prisoner and Naruto, Sakura and Rock lee where transporting him on a boat, and his crew members where going to save him without knowing that he really was a good guy who saved the children of houses they robbed and sat on fire?

He was a big guy with many scares and one of the guards had lost his brother, but found out in the end that the prisoner he thought killed him, acctually saved him.

Well, one of the crew guys had some sort of a gun. can`t remeber how it looked though, but it wasen`t really that great and Naruto kicked his but in a matter of a flash.
Think he was the guy who cought Naruto and the guard in some kind of string that penetrated the body more and more over time, but Naruto and the guard found out that it could be broken down with sweat and spitt.

Actually Pain hasn't destroyed the village totally, as you can see, there are buildings near the walls, there is a possibility that most of them still stand.

Naruto in Fox Mode hasn't destroyed the village, he just destroyed a boulder or two with Pain's body and a wall of rock:

Naruto just asked what's with that smoke, and the slug responded that he did that (not saying that Naruto destroyed the village) and Naruto asks himself if he hurt the villagers and Hinata, not if he destroyed the village itself.

Those 2 buildings are just what was left of the village after it was destroyed by Pain, Naruto didn't destroyed anything. So, in my opinion, no mistake here. And after that, yes, Yamato helped constructing houses made of wood using his jutsu.
