Re: Uchiha 2nd rate
Two things I would like to clear up.
First of all, it was stated by both Itachi and Madara that the Uchiha Clan was an extremely powerful clan. However, whereas Itachi called Madara the strongest shinobi of that time, Madara stated that it was Hashirama who was at the top of the world. I believe that the latter may be correct, as he has nothing to achieve by lying that either Hashirama or he would be stronger, plus he personally battled him time and time again, won battles, lost and tied, and being his rival, would know best his powers, his strengths and weaknesses.
Itachi, on the other hand, was as we all know, pretending to be evil and boastful in front of Sasuke. Plus, even if he believed Madara was the strongest, had he actually ever witnessed Hashirama's power? Plus, if Hashirama's own rival admits inferiority, then shouldn't we take his word?
However, on the whole I believe the clans were equals in power. People have this weird misconception that the Senju were much balanced, diverse fighters whereas the Uchiha were not, and specialized only in Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and Katons. However, this couldn't be farther from the truth.
The Uchihas themselves, with the aid of the Three-Tomoe Sharingan, which even the youngest warriors wielded then at ages possibly even younger than Sasuke in Part I, would have been quite good at Taijutsu thanks to their Sharingan allowing them to copy powerful, non Kekkei Genkai-based physical techniques and predict movements better. Also, their Sharingan has been stated time and time again to have the ability to copy and learn jutsu easily, even of different Elements. We know already about their Ninjutsu ability. In other words, the Uchihas were just as balanced as the Senju, maybe they simply gave Ninjutsu and Genjutsu a higher priority, but this isn't to say they were only so good at those fields and not that well-rounded.
I don't see the point of this thread. The Senju were not superior to Uchiha. The latter were segregated by not only the Nidaime Hokage, Tobirama, but therefore even the entire village in a way, therefore they had no choice but to give in, although they tried time and time again to break out, and ultimately resorted to trying to take over.
Yes, Hashirama indeed defeated Madara, and this feat alone puts him in Madara's tier, most probably even stronger than him. However, other than them, the clans were equal, pound for pound, overall.
