[Discussion] Konoha: Stronger now or before

Do you think that the konoha is stronger than before right now or was stronger before the nine tails incident?
Lets look at the main characters right now at konoha- Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi, Sai, Tsunade, Neji and their friends, two elders, Konohamru.
Before
Minato, Jiraya, 3rd Hokage, Tsunade, Kakashi, White fang.
I may have missed out loads of main characters,be free talk about it.
There may be characters now and before but think about the new powers and experience they have gained.
So what are your opinions?

kohona was stronger in the past then it is now. right now its still rebuilding after the whole pain attack and the kohona 11 are just now starting to tap into thier powers(with exception of neji,shikamaru and naruto) in the past you had the fourth at his best,jiraiya at his best, the thrid at his best,and i might add the whole uchiha clan !!!!

Konoha before was stronger than it is now. :)) Konoha's power went down not because strong characters died out of battle. Remember that each strong characters had passed their abilities down to the new generations in konoha.

Before we have:
Third Hokage (Sarutobi)
Fourth Hokage (Minato)
Sannins (Jiraiya, Tsunade, Orochimaru)
White Fang
Itachi
Danzo

Now we have:
Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi, Tsunade ,Gai, Kurenei, Yamato, Konoha 11, etc.

I think with the experiences they have gained, they will manage to be par on the other villages in the upcoming war.

Konoha was stronger before because all of the characters that are in konoha now will surpass their senseis but they havent yet.(exept naruto)So I say Konoha will be stronger in the futer

Naruto generation only had Orochimaru attack on the Village and Pain's attack on the village. Previous Generations had to live with the Ninja wars. Now it's Naruto generation to shine with the 4th Ninja war. Besides Naruto its now time for the rest of them to shine and become the next Heroes and Legends.

Konoha was stronger before. But it'll get stronger soon though. All of students will surpass their teachers and they''ve also gained some experience from Pain.

at the moment, the konoha of the past would definitely be stronger... but what the current generation possesses is potential.. and i think that's the most important factor, so i guess the future will the be strongest..

I support most of the opinions. Past Konoha is a lot stronger than the current Konoha. Currently, only a few jounins(three or four) are really good. Most of the jounins and ANBU are worthless. No Sannin, no white fang, no Minato, etc. May be when the current ninja gained experienced in the upcoming 4th ninja war, they may surpass or at par with the past Konoha's shinobi.

Mmmmm.... I think it depends. In the past, Konoha definitely had more raw power, but, it was divided against it's self. With the death of Danzo, Konoha actually has something approaching unity (rather then a sub-faction working to subvert the rest of the village).

In the Shodai's Generation you had:
The Senju
The Uchiha
7 Bijuu

That's a ton of power concentrated in the village, but there was a noted division between Uchiha and Senju. Meaning that Senju and Uchiha were working against one another at that point.

The Nidaime Hokage worked towards assimilation and stability. Unlike the Shodai, we're not told exactly what resources the village had and what was given away. We do see several things develope under the Nidaime hokage though.
First, The Uchiha are made into an internal police force for Konoha.
I tend to believe Itachi's version.
It's important to note that The Police force wasn't created by the Nidaime, as suggested by Madara himself, but by one of the ancestors of the Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha.
Given what we know right now, it was most likely setup by Madara Uchiha, possibly as a means of eventually causing a civil war, though the timing and such leads me to believe the creator was actually Izuna or a seperate, as of now unamed, uchiha.

The third Hokage is noted as one of the most gifted shinobi of ever, and he did vigorously pursue peace, possibly leading to the end of the First Great Shinobi War; however, it is under the Third's reign that ROOT flourished and developed. The Second and the Third Great Shinobi World Wars took place during the 3rd's Reign as well.
Finally, Orochimaru went rogue during this time period, and, while his actions did not result in a subversive faction operating secretly within the village, it did lead to the eventual creation of the sound village.

Little is known about Minato's reign other then the fact that the Kyuubi attacked the village. The attack of the village by the Kyuubi caused a general rise in discrimination against the Uchiha. Madara (or whoever Tobi actually is...) is still a strong possibility despite his testimony to the contrary. This leads to the massacre of the Uchiha clan by Itachi and 'Madara', effectively eliminating the possiblity of a Cou de' etat by the Uchiha police force against the rest of the village.

This leads us to state of the village at the begining of the Manga.
With Danzo's recent demise, ROOT is effectively dissolved. As to whether this is a permanent state of affairs is unknown, but this does mean that there's are currently no known subversive elements left in Konoha.

if sasuke returns.. then it might be hard to decide but right now konoha from the past is stronger...

i would say there was the first gen.. senju and uchiha's and second gen when sarutobi and danzo matured a bit and after hiruzen became hokage.. then you have white fang + sannins plus minato.. then you have kinda like the third gen i.e itachi up to like naruto + konoha 11 or w/e.. taking into consideration the uchiha massacre.. the prevous generations are a lot stronger but if sasuke and itachi + co were still in the village it wouldnt be that baad...

Well, from way back in the first two ninja wars, we're only aware of the 1st and 2nd hokage with sarutobi and Danzou in their early years, so little is known about that era of Konoha but i reckon if they whooped uchiha butt, they'll whoop the current generations ass.

The third ninja war generation consisted of Minato, the three sannin and Hiruzen/Danzou in their prime (more or less) and they have the youngest hokage to-date the god of all shinobi - Hiruzen as well as the three Sannin; Tsunade, Orochimaru and Jiraiya. Also, This generation also included the white fang who was herald as an equal to the Sannin themselves.

This generation is sort of clan-related. Konoha are distributed into many different clans. Inuzuka, Yamanaka, Akimichi..etc..and they were probably a fair few back in the 3rd war generation but the siblings have surpassed their parents. This generation also consist of just one Sannin - Tsunade. I'll include Kakashi in this generation because back when the 3rd war was happening, he was still young :/ and also, they have Yamato which the previous generation lacked - A Wood user.

With all that said and done, i reckon that the 3rd world war generation was the strongest but due to not much is known about the 1st generation but the 1st and 2nd hokage can't win a war on their own. Definently the current generation is the weakest but they do have their potential to be great.

Given the theme that each generation surpasses the previous one, they are stronger. Perhaps I should say that they will be stronger as none of them has reached their full potential. Also, with Danzou gone, we could see some powerful shinobi show up. Recall how good Danzou's two guards were (Fu and Tirune I think). Albeit, they did lose Sasuke and all of the remaining Uchiha.

Hmmm...Lets see during the 3rd shinobi war they had
-Young Sarutobi
-Minato
-Kakashi
-Itachi
-Jiraiya
-Orouchmaru
-Tsunade
-The whole Uchiha clan
-(At the beginning) White fang
Besides young Kakashi and young Itachi all these guys where the most feared in battle.

Now they have
-the rookies
-Kakashi with MS
-Tsunade
-The biggest asset Naruto
-They have jounin like guy and yamato but they aren't kage level except argued Guy.

Their power is diminished unless the rookies can grow to be Kakashi level each.
