Honestly I didn't expect Gai to be there.... looks like Gai vs. Kisame again.... I predict a LOT of talking in the next chapter...

Man all you narutards critisizing kishi how to write a story... as far as we all are conscerned, naruto is clearly a legendary manga, every chapter is its own master piece, its not like the guy takes 10 minutes to do this stuff...... my input on 492 is a good chapter because who doesnt like to see comical naruto? granted, sh*t is getting tense on the series but thats the essence, all slow chapters will lead to a great series of chapters.. its how it works.. the evil naruto though, is quite contradicting, i dont believe there are any demons to do with the evil in naruto, the falls of truth really are just showing naruto an exact opposite, it's the perfect start to controlling the beast, all the beast is, is true hate, Naruto is true Faith and heart. the conflict between them will only be verbal, how do you fight yourself, Next chapter will be only greater than the last one, you guys got to respect that, all though i must say, i dont know why they make naruto like such a kid when he ismt fighting lol.. when he fights, he's a total badass...

u sick..Gai dying is braking the law of narutoverse. if gai8 die then kakashi is left lonely........ and by the gai was the one who always spice up the jounins otherwise they are some carp pile of old people.

i thought that the chapter was pretty good. i actually had it at a 4 til i saw that bulls*^t ending. ( NB Fam plz dont try n rape me for that comment lol) i mean i thought that it was a little lazy. jmo sorry. it seemed like it was too much like Bleach to me.

It was a good chapter but the unexpected came at the last when Naruto saw his evil side wonder what will happen next week, or maybe it is the first step of controlling the dark power of the tailed beast by first defeating the inner darker power just a thought though

The previous chapter was quite fast, but this chapter is just the opposite. However, its OK to me. Next chapter will be awesome. I can't wait to see Naruto fighting his evil side.

It was an ok chapter.

I do think that Gai is going to fight Kisame again, but I think Gai is going to loose. I'd say this is more a consequence that Gai is going to face off against Kisame after Kisame captures Killer bee though (and is charged with Killer Bee's Chakra), rather then through any fault of his own.

If Gai does fall in battle, I think Rock will ultimately kill Kisame.

Plotwise, it makes sense for Gai to die. He's the second most well known special Jonin, second only to Kekkashi, and he's never actually lost while on screen. Seriously, he's won every encounter that he's had on screen. That sorta luck can't last forever.

After that, I think it's worth noting that if Gai dies, it will actually allow Rock Lee to develope abit. As he is now, he's very co-dependent. I'd actually like to see a strong, independent Rock Lee whooping Kisame's a$$ abit later on. Plus... if Lee beats Kisame, doesn't he get Samehada? I could be wrong aobut that aspect of it.

As for Naruto vs Oturan, I don't think the Fox will come into this battle at all. This is a fight about self mastery; Naruto may be the Nine-tails Jinchuriki, but the Kyuubi is an independent individual. This is a fight between naruto and Oturan, not Naruto Oturan and the Kyuubi.
If Naruto's going to have any hope of mastering the Kyuubi, he's going to have to master his own dark impulses.

I think that the "evil" naruto is the fox's "will" so in order for naruto to get control over the fox he has to subdue his twin. I also enjoyed seeing sexy justsu because i can't recall the last time i saw it =) good chapter but not great.

Oturan is distinct from the Fox, but Oturan does allow the fox to negatively influence Naruto.

I seriously think that if Naruto controlling the fox is a matter as simple as "here ya go, just sit by this magical waterfall and defeat your evil alter-ego, Dr. Originality!" then it'll be a MAJOR copout from Kishi, and a huge anticlimax to what has been the most anticipated development in the manga since day 1.

Anyone notice one funny scene in the chapter. In page 4, the Giant Gorilla was about to attack the Shinobi, and the Shinobis were a bit afraid and they were taking their stances. But see what Maito Gai did, he was vomitting lol, he didn't even pay attention to the Giant Gorilla. :D
