Could Yamato ever be a onbu again?

Even in the last chapter, he tells a ninja from the cloud villiage that he is a wood user.

The onbu black ops wear masks to keep their identity a secret right?

Well If Kakashi is appointed head of Root/Anbu, then he might possibly add Yamato and Yamato wouldn't need to wear a mask at all.

I don't think so AMBU are suppose to have their ID's secret but him being the only wood user would take away the secret. Besides I don't see him leaving team Kakashi anytime soon.

In a sense, it doesn't matter, ANBU have their own missions, in ANBU class missions they wear their masks. In the case where they have normal missions or must bond obviously they are told to remove their masks. It makes little difference though, the masks just keep them uniform and prevent the enemy from instantly knowing them.

Anyway, my point is this; if he were to wear the mask and fight anyone skilled they would quickly find out that he was a wood-user simply because they'd probably live through his first attack. Anybody too low class to take him would find out he was a wood user, and they'd most likely be dead soon after.

if you are talking about A.M.B.U then i doubt it since he has its loyalty to kakashi and the hokage and there currently isn´t anyone in charge of the anbu since danzo died.

If Konoha, namely Tsunade, wanted him on ANBU duty, they wouldn't have pulled him off to help control Naruto. Yamato is a name given to him by Tsunade when he is set to lead team Kakashi I believe.

I would say he could still do assassination missions so long as everyone who was a witness was killed. He's not like Sasuke who attacked the 8-tails with an Uchiha crest on his back saying "This way!"

The other possibility is for him to simply not use mokuton during an ANBU mission and only use earth and water style jutsu.

Hes above Anbu right now. To go back now would be more of a demotion. Think about it hes on a sqaud with Kakashi "possibly the next Hokage", and Naruto a Jinchuuriki. Hes basically in the best squad in the village acting as a body guard for Naruto who is most likely the strongest in the village "maybe not the smartest lol".

I think that this is the least of there worries but i think after madara is defeated there will be no need for anbu or root as there will be one big alliance

Ambu does secret missions under the hokage they need the mask in case they have to do assassinations and their ID's have to be kept secret so if someone sees them their wouldn't be an international incident because he has a mask and no one knows his special attacks. Kakashi probably became to famous and had to be removed.

Like James bond he has no identity if he were to get cough for a speeding ticket their wouldn't be any record in a data base he doesn't exist. Anbu are the same way they don't exist. Yamato is his 00 name, Tenzou is his real name. Yamato is going around every where using his wood element so the secrets out what the point in having a mask if everyone knows who you are.

you said what I was thinking perfectly. My point wasnt that i thought yamato would become a ANBU again, but rather that he cant become one again since he has been so open about using his very unique abilities.
