Re: Shark teeth
Actually i think it's possible that it's a trait thats associated with the seven swordsmen.
I'd say it's more a result of being near and using the swords of the seven swordsmen rather then an destined trait deal.
course we haven't been given enough information to know.

We've seen Zabuza, Kisame, Chojuro, and Suigetsu and they all have razor teeth. Obviously not everyone from Kirigakure looks like this. Ao, Godai Mizukage Mei, Yondai Mizukage Yagura, Utakata.. None of them have the shark teeth (I think).
Curious...
Maybe shaving your teeth to a point is a requirement to join the club. Or maybe the people who inherit the swords are chosen by destiny and the shark teeth is the mark destiny has put upon them to identify them.
i agree completly with u and what ur saying.. It is destiny.

But this is analyzing a trend found among multiple characters. You gave examples of traits of single characters.

Does that mean Bee will start developing shark teeth from his time with Samehada?

It is most likely the training from childhood that acts on some people DNA to activate a recessive Gene to become dominant. This might trigger the change in denture.

Re: Shark teeth
Kisame is the only one that looks most like a shark. SO I guess his features would include sharp teeth, blue skin and gills, it's just a character thing within the anime. Perhaps it's some sort of tradition to be int he Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. But Raiga Kurosuki was a member and he didn't have shark like teeth. So it really doesn't matter with the teeth or not.
There's other anime shows/mangas that display people with cat like appearances, an example would be Escaflowne, sharp teeth, super spikey hair, weird alien features(DragonballZ is a good example.) etc. are to show diversity.
It's all just for show. You have other characters in anime that are gigantic in size and others that are not. It's a special way to make the characters or village that they come from feared or dangerous in appearance.

That makes some sense. Good thoughts. I like how you actually tried to think of some science to apply to this situation when other ppl say its simply because the creator wanted it to be that way. Obviously Kishi wanted it to be like that, that's why he drew it as such
Anyway good post.

I'm aware that it's for show. I'm pretty sure it has no practical purpose.
Kisame has extra shark features because of his fusions with his particularly shark like sword, Samehada. But his shark teeth would most likely still be there if he had a different sword. It's his skin color and gills that are because of Samehada.
Remember this is the manga section, Raiga doesn't exist in the manga. Kishi never drew Raiga. I found a connection between 3 members (Kisame, Zabuza, and Chojuro) and 1 newbie (Suigetsu) in the 7 swordsmen of the hidden mist so I made a thread about it. Obviously you're gonna have different characters with different characteristics.
Stop trying to downplay my post with your attempted nonchalance.

Good thought, guys, but I doubt it. Many other shinobi use water jutsu (Kakashi, Darui, Kakuzu, Haku, Mizukage, Tenzo (Yamato), Tobirama, Hashirama...) and they don't have a hint of shark teeth.

Well actually it's four. I just couldn't find/didn't feel like searching harder for a good picture of Chojuro's teeth. But I'm 90% sure he has shark teeth also. Anime doesn't count... If you're talking about Raiga, see my repsonse to kisamexrocks.
We haven't been shown any more than that in the manga so obviously its just conjecture. But there is a trend so I believe we can safely assume that the others have this trait as well.
To all: This is just a discussion. Post your ideas about how/why this could be. This is not some be all end all search for the true answer because the true answer is impossible to find unless Kishi tells us. So don't treat it as such.
Discuss.

Spam.
Anyway, if we ever get a filler about Kisame that shows how he came into Akatsuki then we'll understand if it's because of Samehada or because he was born with the traits of a shark. You don't have to be a water user to have shark teeth. Perhaps most people that come from the Hidden Mist Village are the ones with shark teeth. Genetic trait perhaps.
Orochimaru has a snake like appearance, and we don't know why, all we know is that when he was a kid he had the same appearance.
