kushina was the seal, once naruto opened it she was released from the binding seal and thus now she is present in the manga. she wasnt dead or hiding she was the seal holding back the kyuubi all the time. Epic Chapter But once again too short xD

O M G Kushina is EXACTLY like Sakura! HAHAHAAA!!! That quick and violent temper, her eyes (very bright even though Sakura's are green), similar smile and facial features, that quick and violent temper, both had lousy nicknames regarding their faces (tomato vs forehead), that quick and violent temper, their hair (both have red toned hair; Sakura's is obviously much lighter as it is pink), and that QUICK and VIOLENT TEMPER! HAHAHAAAA!!!!

Check Neji vs Naruto episodes. It should be somewhere in those episodes.

Once he saw the unique charkra he mentioned "i know this charkra" The fox might have been suprised that kushina was still alive or at least in some form after the seal was released.

Sooo you guys think that Minato didn't beat Kyuubi alone? Minato was awesome, no doubt, but he must've had Kushina's help. Those chains probably came in handy while Minato was preparing and using the Shiki Fujin.

I loved this chapter but was hoping for more background, maybe next chapter. Just saying Kushina's chakra is special leaves so much that it could be that it is hard to even guess. I will of course do so anyway.


I still think that Kushina and the Uzumaki are a direct decendant of the SoSP along the same line as the Senju with the body of the Sage. Or perhaps that is what Kishi is working towards, that the Senju and the Uchiha weren't the only two bloodlines to come from the Sage and that there was a third, the Uzumaki who inherited the Sage's chakra.


An even bigger twist, maybe the Uzumaki are a result of a Senju and Uchiha union. It wouldn't be a huge jump to think that at some point an Uchiha hooked up with a Senju and had a child, they would both have been booted from their clans or even killed during the period when the Uchiha and Senju were in constant competition. To stay alive it would make sense that they would have to form their own clan and keep their abilities as secret as possible. It could even be as a result of someone like Orochimaru (obviously not him specifically) who was trying to recreate the Sage but ended up with something new. I think I like that idea the most but find it to be somewhat unlikely even as I type it.


One other idea I had is that the Uzumaki go back farther than both the Senju and Uchiha and are from either the SoSP mother or father or even brother (Kishi seems to like siblings at odds) who possessed an even more unique ability. Really it could be anything but I have this nagging feeling that the Uzumaki are somehow linked to the Sage.


In any case I can't wait to see next week's chapter and look forward to all of your theories until then.

I understand that Kushina appeared similarly to Minato during Pain fight, but still, there has to be something more to it. Some people think she appeared because the Fox killed her, other think she was a previous host. The host idea is backed-up by her ability to pull out Naruto's chakra to chain down the Fox. But still, everything we have learned about hosts is that they die when the bijuu is extracted or sealed away. So I don't know if that theory holds.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see what secrets she has to reveal to her son. All in all, great chapter. I found myself real sucked into the back story. Usually the background flashbacks can bore me. But since it was about such an important character it was great!

This was a pretty good chapter. the best parts were kushina chaining up the ninetails and us finding out that she has "special chakra". I wonder what it is and if naruto inherited it. I think we'll see in the chapter after the next one cause it said that theyre gonna kill the kyuubi first.

Yeah, great cliffhanger on this one. What was so special about her chakra that she was kidnapped for it? Also, did Naruto inherit any of it?

I don't think Naruto is going to get a Kekkei Genkai, it's not his style. Naruto doesn't get things handed to him on a platter like Sasuke does: Naruto uses training and determination to gain new power and reach new levels. Just receiving a Kekkei Genkai for free would be counter to this theme, and I don't think Kishi is going to do it.

I am extremely interested to see the answer to this question. Hopefully we get some answers next week.

Did anyone notice that Kushina was in Naruto's mind mind?...i mean, Naruto and Kyuubi are in Naruto's mind, but kushina is with naruto at naruto's naruto mind...or something like that lol....so naruto as infinite amount of minds or just 2 :P lol

SQEEEEEEEE!!!! OMG Kushina is freaking awesome! Naruto acts just like her, with a dash of his dad for good measure. This chapter was ADORABLE! Naruto and his mom is just so...CUTE!!! The way he hugged her when he figured out who she was! And the whole story of how his parents met...awwww! I think this might be one of my top favourite chapters in the entire series.

As Ruler Micheal pointed out earlier, I think it is funny that Naruto’s favourite colour is orange, when his dad was Konoha’s Yellow Flash, and his mom the Bloody Habanero...yellow plus red equals orange. Makes you wonder how much of this Kishi has had planned from the start.

The whole Naruto complementing his mom on her hair thing...Kawaii!! Also, the whole “I think I get why Kiba and Shikamaru are so scared of their moms now” made me laugh so hard. As did the “I’m glad my mom is a babe” hehe.
P.S. I am really interested to see how Kushina’s chakra is special, especially since the Kyuubi recognizes it and the Hidden Cloud wanted it bad enough to kidnap her. Wonder if maybe her chakra is able to suppress the bijuu’s like the First Hokage’s or something? It would explain why her chakra would help Naruto to control the Kyuubi. Also, Kushina and Minato put a freaking lot of thought into the creation of the seal – seems likely both died in the sealing process and knew they were going to, so built in a way for both to meet their son. I personally think it is far more likely that Kushina is some sort of imprint like Minato than that she is alive. I’m so glad that Naruto is finally getting the chance to know what being loved feels like.

Also, did anyone else find it strange that Naruto had his mother’s name to protect him from his father’s enemies (or at least that’s what I’ve always kinda thought), and now it seems she was almost as well known as he was? In this case, is it not possible that Kushina’s last name was not Uzumaki at all (since if The Bloody Habenero was well known, everyone should have figured out who Naruto’s parents were if he shared her last name), but something else, and the name “Uzumaki” was given to Naruto to protect him, and was an homage to Kushina’s birth place? Just an idea.

Can’t wait for more Kushina and Naruto interaction!! Definitely an awesome chapter!

I thought that for a bit too, but then you noticed that she'd say things like "oh, you say nonsense words too." That makes me think that's the first time she's seen what her son does.

The chains make me suspect that her "special chakra" allows her to form solid object, and that was first exemplified by her hair (as in, her chakra came out bonded with her hair, making it red somehow). The problem though is that I suspect that ability is too close to a K G, and like someone else said, I think that's counter to the theme of Naruto. It would kind of ruin it for me if after all this time, suddenly Naruto has some new bloodline limit to be able to fight with. Then again, Cloud loves kidnapping people with KG apparently...so who knows.
