    Anyone else disappointed with shippuden?

Now this isn't a hater thread on kishimoto, I buy the manga plus I love the series, however it should be obvious that the series isn't as good as it once was.

Let's just compare the fights. Back then, using the nine tails chakra tails was incredible to see. Everyone was in shock and awe and it was portrayed as destruction incarnate. Just with one tail, Naruto ripped Orochimaru's face in half. Compared to part 1, Naruto barely managed to beat Kabuto. Point being, everyone was always amazed to see the nine tails chakra tails come into a fight. We all knew whoever was fighting against it was going to have a bad day and it was going to be an amazing fight. Now even though Naruto has the chakra controlled (even when he had Kurama) it seems weaker if that makes sense. The destruction caused seems less immense along with the fact that it just doesn't seem special. It's like that girl you've been sleeping with for months. Just gets stale and old and you just want to throw her in the street. I'm not saying it's at that level, however seeing Kurama and Naruto fight together isn't that special anymore.

Take the Itachi vs Sasuke fight, it was built up for over 200 chapters and when it happened, it was so amazing to read. Everyone loved seeing the character growth of sasuke and itachi. New jutsus were displayed, it had plot twist, and developed the story quite nicely. It set the story for a good 200 chapters. That fight alone helped set the stage for the shinobi world war along with everything up until now. That's a how a story should develop. One fight leads on to dozens more and builds upon an interesting story.

Nowadays seeing the bijuu fight is boring along with kage level ninja. I think Kishi went overboard in terms of the power scaling. In part 1, Orochimaru, Hashirama, Tobirama, vs Hiruzen was a battle that couldn't be compared to any battle in part one and some of part 2. Now it's normal for everyone to be kage level and to use bijuu powers along with everyone either having senju dna, sharingan, rinnegan etc. Just kinda made it boring. There was a ton of character growth and development in part 1 and beginning part 2. The power scaling was balanced and it was interesting. The series always had an interesting plot and it wasn't as stale as "senju dna sharingan rinnegan bijuu power." Just my 2 cents though.

Re: Anyone else disappointed with shippuden?

Eh, somewhat. I was pretty satisfied up until the war arc. From then on, I've liked bits and pieces (Like Obito's character or Sasuke's quest to find his resolve) but my interest has greatly dwindled over time as compared to the Itachi vs Sasuke or Pain's involvement with plot. The seemingly sudden jump in power scaling has something to do with it for me, the fights just aren't what they used to be but it's mostly the plot for me. The Senju DNA thing is ridiculous to me but whatever I guess.

Have you tried rereading chapters all together? It's what I've been doing and it's better that way. Still though, I completely understand your disappointment. lol at the "it's like sleeping with a girl for months" remark. Though if the sex is good, it doesn't get stale but that's a different topic
    I get your point though

War arc could have been amazing but kishi hardly gave anyone the proper development, made the edos seem pointless and etc .

Re: Anyone else disappointed with shippuden?

i like them both, but i prefer part 1...

Shippuden's fights were not as interesting, Shippuden's characters don't develop as much, Shuippuden relies too much on flashbacks to tell the story, some characters seem to become less realistic, and the worst thing in my opinion is that it relies too much on fan pairings (Neji died for NaruHina fans!)...

That's how I've been. The war arc outside of what happened to team kakashi was a let down. Akatsuki characters shouldn't be beaten so easily. I have been re-reading the chapters and it's like whoa what happened during this time frame. The war arc falls short of pains, itachi's, and orochimaru's arc. It's something about power scaling I swear plus the fights aren't as developed.

I agree with this. The edo's should of been able to roflstomp the alliance. The only notable ones were Nagato, Itachi, Kinkaku, Ginkaku, Mizukage, Muu, and Madara. Everyone else was treated like fodder.

That's how I feel as well. I mean War arc isn't terrible, it just seems lackluster to me. Especially since I really feel like Kishi is a great mangaka. I just felt like he dropped the ball for the most part with the latest arcs, I just think he could have done so much better. But with the recent breaks he's been taking, I feel like the chapters have been better. I feel like Kishi should have taken an hiatus before the war arc. It probably would have pissed me off back then but it would have been worth it.

I agree with every word here. Fact is, the focus just wasn't on much else besides the members of team Kakashi. When the focus was off of them, the fights and the plot just didn't develop the same. It's gotten to the point where I've been liking Naruto's character less and less. The time frame between all the fights and arcs seem strange too. After Nagato's death, it's been maybe a week to where we are now. There are simply better arcs than the war arc but I got faith in Kishi. He did pretty great in the past so I think he'll end on a good note as well.

Not really, no. I'm lovin everything right now except for flashbacks every 5 minutes. For me that's the only real downside of naruto but I'm cool with everything else that's happening right now

Read the bold, then read the underline, think about it, then read it again and let it sink in. It's not that the kyuubi cloak gets spammed, but it's not as powerful. Naruto when in four tails demolished the landscape he was in. He literally destroyed everything in his path, now that the chakra is under control, the destruction is weaker than compared to 4 or six tails.

    Am i missing something?
my point is that the war arc took three years just the way it is, if Masashi were to add in all that things people seem to want then this would drag on for years more, which obviously isn't Kishimoto's intentions.

It's funny, because there are those who say naruto is haxxed and BM is OP and all that stuff but you're saying the opposite.
4 tails Naruto is certainly no where near as current, or rather a KCM or BM Naruto. Actually I would say 4 tails Naruto is as strong as KCM just under control, but saying that the kyuubi has lost it's destructiveness is false. 4 tails Naruto couldnt take on 5 bijuu
If you're trying to say that the nine tails chakra has become less ominous then yes that's true considering Kurama is now a friend of Naruto.
I dont know what you want.

If they're forced into him then he can't regenerate unless they're remove, and since the rods restrict movement and chakra flow he cant get himself free.
the pressure points might be a mistranslation... although the pressure points do relate to chakra points

Personally I think the War Arc-Present Arc have too many artificial plot extensions to prolong the series past its prime. It has become dragging and lackluster.

This is the vicious cycle of this Manga since I started reading from ch. 611:

Shinobi Alliance no Jutsu Troll - Madara and Obito w/Juubi backtrolls - Naruto giving Kyuubi Cloaks to Alliance Troll - Kill Neji and destroy Alliance HQ Backtroll - Shinobi Alliance attack Madara and Obito directly troll - Tenpenchì backtroll - Naruto uses Bijū Chakra to shield alliance troll - Juubi flower backtroll - Edo Hokages erect barrier on Juubi troll - Juubi clones backtroll - Kakashi tries to Kamui Juubi's head troll - Obito interfering backtroll - Madara forces Obito to use rinne tensei on him troll - Obito becomes Juubi's Jin backtroll - Juubi tries to overtake Obito troll - Obito controls Juubi backtroll - Obito uses Onmyoūdon troll - Naruto and co. uses Sage Mode Backtroll - Obito Nunoboko Sword Troll - Naruto and Alliance pulls the Bijūs out backtroll - Obito repents and prepares to use Rinne Tensei on Alliance Troll - Black Zetsu Backtroll - present.
