I think Kisame betrayed Madara. That escaping shark might be heading to Konan, to save her. As proof, read the text on the left side of the Manga. It's the first page.

Kisame only believes in Madara right or wrong and the info is useless to Kona, She no longer follows Madara nor Nagato's old believes, it makes no sense for Kisame to save Konan, Plus Kisame dose not know Madara has gone for Kinan.

And when Kisame was going to die he remembered everything and finally realized what a type of man he is.
