Well now that we have seen the newest chapter, I think it is possible that Itachi left Naruto something else. He may have left him a connection to the Uchiha clan so he has both powers like Madara. It is possible he has forseen Madara's plans and knew about his secrets.

hahaha that's funny but i agree with u.
I not think so Itachi will do that. Naruto told Itachi that he will save Sauske at any cost. So Itachi was starting believe in Naruto then he gave him unknown power. That power will change Sasuke. Itachi was really care about Sasuke more than village. He just wanted Sasuke to be happy forever.

p.s. Itachi said, "I hope you'll never have to use it."....... I think he mean he hope Naruto have other way to save Sasuke. if he can't find any ways to help Sasuke then he have to use Itachi's power.
