Ok so now I am totally lost here. I assumed that to perform the jutsu kabuto used when he resurrected the akatsuki members he needed access to their bodies. Could have sworn that's how Orochimaru used it against Sarutobi.

edo tensei needs human bodies only that's it.. but in kabuto's case he mentions that he mastered the technique better than orochimaru and the 2nd so he might have some aces left up in his sleeves with this technique.
