I believe some Uzumaki carry the recessive gene for the Rinnegan and Madara knows this and found a way to activated it using the forbidden Uchiha eye tech. Ones activated Madara can say He gave it, when in reality all He did was set up the conditions for a recessive gene to become dominant.

Itachi gift to naruto? been like over 100 chapters still know nothing about it
The real deal behind uchiha massacre? shishui death? itachi? and tobi/madara?
Nagato and his Uzamaki background? how did tobi/madara give him the rinnegan?

and there maybe more but as of right now those are the main question i need answered

FFS. I know how he gave rinnegan to nagato. Madara was walking his dog out on the street and saw pair of rinnegan eyes on the sidewalk. He went there, took 'em and hurried to give them to nagato. If it's true though, wouldn't that mean that Itachi may actually have "done" the same thing to Naruto, but didn't activate yet (aka itachi's gift to naruto)? which means that naruto may actually activate a rennigan :D ,, far fetched, but amusing

i think madara transplanted nagatos eyes at a young age to have the rennigan activated, cause i would imagine it takes an uzumaki to activate them. seemings the sage of the six paths was in fact a uzumaki. now how he got the eyes is another story ... but if madara in fact did GIVE nagato the rinnigan its cause he had the eyes, and nagato had the blood. honestly those are the only 2 uzumakis that are alive in the manga that we know about. idk what happened to his clan or even if there were more than a few. but madara found one and used him. i mean he couldnt have used naruto and besides narutos mom i dont think the manga mentions any other uzumakis.

and i would like to know why naruto kept his moms last name and not his dads. why the big secret with him and the 4th hokage, why couldnt he know that was his father. i mean he was gonna find out anyways. why tourcher the kid.

thats what we know so far.....what about if those were not really nagato's parents....i havent go back in the manga to verify it for my self, but If I remember correctly, when they showed his parents both of them had black hair........nagato's hair is red, because of his uzumaki herritage.....hey not saying this is for sure gonna happen, I'm just saying, "think out of the box, and you will see that a world of opportunities opens up"

Look there is reason why the Uzumaki village was destroyed and Madara must have had a hand in it, the scattering of the Uzumaki to the 4 conners of the planet Help Madara keep an eye on them and acts without being attack by a united front. The Uzumaki in some of their individuals must possibly carry the gene for Rinnegan and Madara new this and had the years to experiment and find out who most likely had the best chance to bring the eye to its fruition and found that Nagato was the one and influence the situation that would bring about the eyes in Nagato. Madara is a Artis painting His canvas to suit His needs.

Madara's implanting eyes in everyone and everything before the manga even started, so my guess would be he implanted them, perhaps after awakening them himself ( I mean come on, he's from the elder brothers lineage, who got the eyes, and Madara lived for centuries now, so it could be possible ).
He's making eye transplantation look easy.
