see i thought of that first, using his puppets, but its still using his chakra so it makes it the same in theory, unless them puppets he uses have infused chakra in them (which would rock)

Yeah i suppose...I always thought it was him transferring his chakra into the bodies like what itachi and kisame did with the 30% thing, but it could be something else controlling the bodies

A VERY long time.
But like people have said, they can astral project themselves, so it won't interfere with anyone's plans.
OR! They could use 100% of there chakra and speed up the process, but be absent for a few days in the process.
