Madara's mask

Does his mask change everytime he gets a new path? like to start with he had a flame patterned mask then i think he got senju DNA then it became the spiral pattern then when he gained the rinnegan his mask went to that crazy awesomesauce mask he has now xD. So is it just a mask per path? cause if so i wanna see his next one if he gains another path

Maybe madara has a sense for fashion and this year the current mask is whats in O-O it all makes sense now > : ( Sasuke is only working with madara for his mask :S

Each of the items used to decorate each of the characters has a special meaning;throughout the series we have seen that each time comes out a chacracter wearing a mask, that character will also be hiding something..

I know I'm being a bit abstract but remember Kabuto and Orochimaru wearing masks in the Konoha Invasion, or Haku and his hidden care (gay love) for Zabuza...]

It's obvious we all want to know more about Tobi/Madara/I'm 2x sure it's Zetsu, but in this case it's just yelling it's power increase

well, its not possible to say what the significance of the mask is, it just is'nt given anywhere in the manga or anime. You could infer a meaning but its not necessarily true, each new mask probably just signifies a power increase madara undergoes or it could just be a way to maintain anonymity, not conclusive.

I think the reason that Tobi where's a mask is that kishi uses this so we speculate and question the fact "is he really madara" which judging but the 2million+ threads asking "is he really madara" its working. I just thought of something. When he had the flame pattern im assuming he only had uchiha DNA inside him and Uchiha specialised in Fire/flame related jutsu's. Then his spiral mask looks like his space/time/manipulation jutsu and finally his latest mask looks like the rinnegan with 3 totems on it which would relate to his eyes. So my new theory is that he mask actually changes to a pattern that resembles his greatest asset/move/weapon at the time :S Or maybe he just thinks its holloween and is a bit special xD you decide

And since the juudi pwns about anything i doubt it.

It's hard to say if the masks have any real significance. No attention has ever been drawn to the masks really, except by people on forums. As of right now, my thought is Kishimoto is using the masks to illustrate Madara growing closer and closer to becoming the Sage of 6 Paths.

Sorry but dats wrong because wen we saw him wit da flame mask he had da space /time tech...so I wouldn't think fire was his best plus he didn't use any fire techs at dat time...did he ??? I don't remember him use'n any

When madara had the fire mask (as in when he face minato and talked to itachi before the massacare) he had already lost to the 1st which means he already had senju dna. I'm betting he began wearing the fire mask right after he lost to the 1st in order to hide his identity. Also note that this could be his "1st path" and it was his first mask. He had senju dna mixed with his uchiha and concentrated on controlling the mizukage, creating akstuki (by minipulating Nagato) attacking konoha (with the fox, battleing minato) and finally getting revenge on his clan for deserting him (through helping itachi wipe out the clan) Then after that we don't see him again until he is ready to join akatsuki as "Tobi". At this point he has a new swirl mask. Seeing as this is his second mask I assume he somehow gained the second path. What that was and what it gave him are unknown. Then finally he gained the rinnegan, calling nagato the 3rd of six paths. Again his masked changed to what it is now. And so we have come to the present.

One mistery that still remains is why did Madara want Nagato to save the outer path revival power for him? This however is a discussion for a diffrent thread.

Isn't it just because the last mask was in pretty bad shape after the battle with Konan? I mean, I believe there is something more and it could be, I like your theory , but u know just guessing too why.
