Anbu sucks

Is it just me or everytime something horrible goes down Anbu is pretty much no help at ALL, in every situation i can think of they're just there not really helping

anbu are there to do tasks to make sure certain areas dont get ****ed up. there not there to fight ont he front lines.

Yu got to take in to account that alot of great ninjas were Anbu like kakaish, Itachi, Yamato, and Sai so they must be doing something even if we don't always see it.. I stand my ground on that blunt and a nap thing I said earlier though...

Of course it would be great everyone expects Naruto to do it but if a random Anbu dude ran in and killed Pein for example you would be like Holy Shit where did this guy come from and then he just disappears you'd be like What The Fu** just happened

There are a wide range of ANBU though. You have to think Yamato, Kakashi, and Itachi were all ANBU at one time. So it's not necessarily ANBU that's useless, it's just the current members we've seen.

What do you mean the whole damn village was destroyed in the Pein Arc what the hell were Anbu protecting not the villagers that was Tsunade with her chakra slugs....

Anbu as a whole sucks but don't forget that Kakashi, Itachi, Yamato and Sai who are all great fighters, especially Kakashi and Itachi were all once members of Anbu.

that would actually be cool 2 c a random Badass Anbu defeat some main villian, be a nice lil plot twist, get some back story on what they been doing behind the scene, who knows, could even be one of the long lost Uzumaki clan members under cover

Yeh I thought the Anbu was supposed to be filled with elete ninja but they just seem to suck ass. When Orochimaru attacked Konoha they were no help at all.

first and foremost i would like to point out that anbu are assigned by the hokage to missions that ensure the safety of the land of fire. they have to infiltrate other villages and assassinate or gather information. during the pein arc, most of the anbu were said to have been ordered to gather info from all other places and only a few were left to guard the hokage. as for the time when orochimaru attacked, just because they're anbu doesn't mean that they are undefeatable. you try being caught off guard and we'll see if you could do any better than they did

As far as I have seen most anbu are mostly ninja with great potential. I think that what they did with the anbu is show them as either young ninja with great potential... Such as Itachi, Sai and Kakashi. Or as seinor shinobi that are not as central characters like Yamato being shown as anbu before they are introduced to the main story. I also think that several of the... not as important jonin ranks... not the teachers... were anbu at one point.

lol wrong hokage hightimes, but yeah only time we see the random masked shinobi help was they fought one of the paths of pain during the invasion fighting some of the giant summoned animals, danzo's squad of anbu he brought to back up hanzo got taken down by pain's soul sucking dragon jutsu.
