Mangekyou Sharingan

A question that has been bugging me fora long time is that if you need to take someone else's sharingan to get EMS, why didn't madara trade eyes with izuna or Sasuke trade eyes with itachi so they could both get EMS

I know that but if they already had the mangekyo sharingan then couldnt they could trade with each other to make it's power permanent

LoL I was thinking the same but never wanted to post... Why can't they just trade ? I mean its a pretty fair trade ... Before with Itachi's version of the story where Madara takes his brothers eyes, I assumed the coldness to do so was a requirement for it... but as Madara says it, his bro gave him his eyes.... so it would have been just as easy to trade really !!!! What DA HELL !!!

EDIT: Also Sasuke did not take his bros eyes, with Madara's convincing story, he knew his bro wanted him to have Itachi's eyes and unlock EMS, so then again, another gift from a loving bro!

Yup, I was about to post this. People in the past have asked this question and the answer is in chapter 386. Here is a later page where we see the creature with only 2 eyes, to show that Itachi needs Sasuke's eyes to make it complete:

To me, it means that the 4 eyes basically become 2 and that provides the eternal sight that is sought after.

Well said, I was gonna post that also. They need their own MS and the other MS to awaken EMS so it would be no use to swap.

It woundt have worked with madara and izuna unless they did it before madara went blind. Who knows, if they had traded and both had the EMS, izuna may still be alive just like madara and the whole plot of the story would change. They could have double teamed the 1st too.

Well said then, see I knew there was something to it, which is why I never posted lol... But then I just don't understand HOW did they make it work? How do you transplant eyes and keep your old ones at the same time :D ?!

That would explain why madara wears the mask, to keep the fact that he'd has 4 eyes a secret. That would keep others from achieving ems.

No cause we saw at least half of his face, (when he uncovers it to Sasuke) and the top half of his face also (when the top half breaks against Konan.) and there was only 2 eyes there to be seen. Who knows maybe they fused together hu

It does seem that the 4 eyes essentially become 2. We know for a fact from that chapter that you need the 4 eyes to gain the EMS. If you think about it, this means that the 2 original cannot be removed from the body. Since we know Madara gained the EMS and still had the appearance of 2 eyes, it must mean that the 4 basically became two by putting the 2 new eyes over his two old eyes. Of course, this does not make a lot of sense and the details have not been explained making it an ambiguous situation, but we have to assume from this chapter that a switch is simply not adequate for them both to gain EMS.

I said myself that it didn't make sense, but it seems that that is the only explanation for having 4 eyes but only looking like you have two. As someone said before and I agree with, perhaps the eyes merge with one another to become an EMS. Either way, I really think Kishi did not intend for people to over think things like this. The fact is, a transplant must be done for EMS to be obtained and its a one way street. That means that when exchanged between brothers, one will gain the EMS and the other will loose his eyes forever and die as a result. Again this is ambiguous since we know simply loosing your eyes would not kill you if you get treated, but that is the fact of the manga.

i think as it happened with sasuke they removed sasuke's eyes and put itachi's eyes on sasuke so he can have ems

also obito gaved his right eye to kakashi so same thing was with him and he has ems but his not an uchiha he had implanted eye in him so i guess its save to say u do not have to be an uchiha to have access to uchiha powers now even naruto has hiddin uchiha powers from itachi
