Welcome to the Double-Month Voting thread of the Manga Coloring Contest

Vote with your own opinion. Don't listen to what ppl are saying in the comments Vote for what u think took the most skills to do etc.

All contestants chose their own panel to color. It could be either a regular manga panel, or a lineart that someone made. Either way, the contestants have sent me the originals as well, so that you can judge whether it took skills or not to fulfill the job.

The rules are simple:
1. Do not vote for yourself.
2. Voting with multiple accounts is strictly forbidden
3. Don't tell others to vote for you, or to not vote for a specific entry! (
4. Don't flame, argue, or any form of mistreatment towards the voters, the entries, or the artists in question. I do not want any problems to happen that might ruin this competition.
5. Vote for the best entry and not the one people say is the best. Your opinion matters!
6. Please comment if you have an opinion about the entries or the contest. Just don't break the flaming rules.

If any of the rules 1,2 and 3 are violated, you will be disqualified and maybe banned from the next comp! (We will know if you do)

The Voting thread will be running till the end of March 1st (1 week) and I wish everyone good luck in the voting!:D The winner will receive a medal as usual.

I can't help feeling that it's a bit unfair that entry 4 was copied to the t from a tutorial, everything from the light and shading, down to the paper stock image was provided, the least he could have done is changed the angle of the light or something y'know

yea totally agree about that, but when you say it like that, cell coloring-vectoring is also copying,

I know that it's a piece made from following a tutorial, but it is a piece of own creation, instead take that information into condsideration regarding the matter of skill it took to make it, when passing your votes

On the contrary, that is my point exactly, see there's nothing wrong with using a tutorial, infact i completely endorse their usage, the problem is, the outcome when using a tutorial doesn't show skill, it shows an ability to follow instructions, however, taking the methods and techniques you learn from a tutorial, and applying them to a new image, that displays skill.

Unfortunately in this case, if you look and the tutorial used, it is a carbon copy, there's nothing to show that he's actually taken in the skills, now don't get me wrong, i'm not dissing the guy, he is by no means a bad artist, obviously you still require a degree of skill to pull off a colouring like that, i just feel that him being provided the knowledge of where light source is, where the shadows should fall, is an unfair advantage to the other contestants.

Edit: Just so you know i'm not gearing for a DQ or anything, it's just my opinion, i feel like it's a point that should be brought to people's attention when voting, and ultimately i'm hoping the artist in question see's this and attempts a new colouring using the same techniques but a different image, he has potential.

I've researched about that issue, and it seems that either you must try and register yourselves on imageshack.us http://my.imageshack.us/registration/
or the site owner of narutobase must register their domain at their site.

It's been frequent, every month since july last year, the reason I made it a double-month comp this time was beacuse there were too few submission by the end of january (2-3), which as I'm sure u can tell is a slim competition

But as long as ppl are actively taking part like now, it will continue being as frequent as always
