Sharingan Vs Rinnegan

Can someone with sharingan do genjutsu on the rinnegan? Like madara? Can he control nagato?

actually now that i think about it he can put the path's of pain under genjutsu remember ma and pa whith the jiraiya fight although its never mentioned if it has resitance to ocular genjutsu

I would have to go with no, that was a good point about the six paths in the genjutsu from Jiraiya, but that was also a sound based illusion, where as the sharingan is visual. Plus the rinnegan is the base of all eye techniques, and also apparent in the Uzamaki bloodline (Nagato's trademark uzamaki redhair).
