[Theory] Itachis sicknes

This is a theory or rather a though of mine.

As we all know itachi was very ill, he would have been dead before facing sasuke if he hadnt prolonged his life with medication. The illness was never explained but it made itachi weaker and eventually killed him.

We all know that Madara was afraid of itachi. Either of what he was or of what he might become, but i dont think its the latter. He knew all about Itachi but Itachi didnt know everything about Madara and that was the one reason why madara was still alive.

We all know that madara is a mastermind and a schemer, i think that one possibility for itachis illness is for madara to have poisoned or contaminated him in some other way because he was afraid of itachi. The illness would take care of basically the only threat to madara and he could further exploit the Akatsuki to realize his plan and to also prevent Itachi from taking action prior his death due to the fact he was weakened as stated above.

Well pretty interesting theory and it could be possible.Maybe this is what really happened.It would be a nice plot twist.Imagine Sasuke when he finds out something like that. FURRY man!!!!It is likely that Itachi got sick from all the sadness he had to endure(too dramatic but hey we are talking manga here).

Well no to go too far off topic but I think when madara fought the first he is inazgi, bad spelling, lost botg of his eyes, and and only kept itachi around knowing that some day either him or sasukewould obtain ems and he might be able to steal it from him, so possibly he did poison itachi to keep he weakend, and could explain why we havent seen madras ems. So I think the sharingan he has now isnt even his but stolen from someone. Its logical but who knows, anything can happen in the naruto universe lol

I kind of doubt, but maybe it if you want to draw that conclusion then, then Madara could/would have spread Itachis disease when he transplanted Sauskes eyes. Assumeing its a blood born pathogen. And will end up being the only Uchiha alive.

Also it could have been the same disease that killed Kimimaro, but we know just about as much about that disease as the one that ended up killing Itachi. Not even Orochimarus, or Kabutos medical ninjuitsu could save him. But mabey Tusunade or Sakura could?

no he was sick, he was taking drugs to prolong his life forcefully and with pein or he would have died

This was one of my thoughts as well...maybe it was just his depression?

Well, what would've been different if he didn't? Like, what would Itachi have done differently if he weren't poisoned...he still did everything he planned, including stalling/keeping watch on Akatsuki.

What did he plan, what would've been different if he wasn't supposedly poisoned by Madara?
If they reveal later on that Madara poisoned him, it wouldn't be relevant unless they also reveal some other secret motive of Itachi's. (that was prevented b/c he was poisoned, otherwise the poisoning was useless)
And, seeing that they revealed a ton of Itachi's secret motives/actions, and still have one of his plans/things to reveal, adding another would be...too much for the story. (imo)

I had been wondering about the damn ilness after rewatching old Naruto episodes..hell, for some strange reason I don`t get why Kishi didn`t develope any further the issue, actually I hope he does in the future, cause its one of the triggers for one fo the axis in the story. Itachi is the definitely one of those axis!!!

Would you elaborate a bit more I'm not quite sure I get what your saying, and I would like to understand your idea a bit more.

Is there any diffrence that anyone notices between Kimimaros disease and Itachis, like is one genetic, and the other viral?

Its not genetic i think, otherwise more in the Uchiha would have it

IMO it causes internal bleeding since itachi spat blood and clutched his chest

And i doubt it is transmitted trough blood because than sasuke would get it

Remember Sasuke couldn't kill itachi.. the only reason itachi died is because he wanted to help sasuke by giving him powers. annd itachi ever wanted to do was help. itachi coulda killed Madara. sasuke. and even naruto. but like madara he planned for the future
