The satanic bible
I just finished reading this a couple of weeks back and i thought it was great to read. Its not all about devil worship, more like... when you have to hear both sides of the story, looking at christianity from both sides. It really made me think.
Though half of my friends refuse to read it thinking its evil and stuff, but im not religious so it doesnt bother me...

Re: The satanic bible
never read it but my friends have, I just don't like ignorance or censorship, and it really bugs me when people don't know or mention or even look at both sides of a given issue. Not sure I need to read this to understand that, I'll suggest M. Mansons biography its pretty good. Mentions the above author and is kind of funny, slightly eye opening, contains adult material but still wasn't a bad read.

Might have to read this. Been reading up on Plato (the republic) And some of imanuel kants writings. Which are all cool. But at the moment im reading Dan Brown - The lost symbol, I love his books as i learn from them, and there is quite a bit of truth and possibility of it being real. Da vinci code was a great read. And the attention to detail.... just love it

Re: The satanic bible
I read it a LONG time ago, probably just to piss people off It makes a lot of valid points which I do agree with. If I'm not mistaken (it has been a long time), the major ideas are to do whatever makes you happy as long as you bring no harm to anyone else, follow your physical instincts/urges, etc. I'm an atheist, so this sort of thing works for me. However, to be a Satanist, I would have to believe in God or Satan.
I was all for Satanists practicing their religion until I saw video of a black mass (I believe it was led by LaVey). The fact that the entire service is set up as a mockery of Christianity seemed ridiculous to me. Seems as if more principles should be discussed if they want to be taken seriously. Don't get me wrong - I feel that they can do as they please, but that point alone made it lose all credibility as a religion with me

Re: The satanic bible
As neutral to both sides as you say it is, the writer being him :
...I don't know in what manner this may appeal to certain people.

I love Dan Brown's books. My favorite is tied between Angels & Demons and The Lost Symbol. Amazing how he tells stories and they seem so plausible.

I prefered the da vinci code over angels and deamons. But the lost symbo is now the best IMO, the way he keeps you on edge with all the facts and realism and introduces you to new ways of thinking is just amazing to me. Like at the end of how we interprate the bible and the lost knowledge is in there.
