Anyways. I don't think so, there were too many signs that he really did care for Sasuke. Like, the whole "even if you hate me" deal. He knew he'd have to do that, so he dropped clues for Sasuke. Besides, why would he be crying when he attacked the Uchiha Clan? I don't see him going that far. And when Kisame asked if he was crying that one time, things like that are to show clues. I think he loved Sasuke. = x

All these "clues" could just be there to throw you off. In the beginning all everyone wished for was that Sasuke could be happy and have his family back. Don't you think it's a bit odd that he supposedly got the love of his brother before he died? IF HE DIED. Okay, I won't go that far, but still, I'm skeptical.

I didn't wish that...I wished he'd stop being stupid.

But, still, I just don't see that happening. I think Madara is lying, but not about that. Itachi, being alive would be great, but the manga is coming closer to an end, and personally I think it's getting a little too long for this kind of story. I don't think anymore major twists like that will be added. Masashi always does that, like with Tobi and Obito, he did it to throw us off. And in alot of other cases, which is exactly why I don't think he'll do it this time.

Maybe it was his original intention but now that his manga has been going for so long he just wants it to end so he can start on a new creation?

Possible. It's his first manga...

I think almost everyone is atleast a little skeptical of him, since they're so used to him being the evil guy Sasuke made him out to be.

Everybody will hate me, not you, because I don't think Itachi was "good". He was good to his brother, but killing your own clan (in case he did it, I'm assuming Kishi won't change the story again) is no good, just convenient in this case.

Sasuke with all his emo-thing and even with his jealousy was good, even when the cursed seal was eating him before leaving Konoha, he decided not to kill Naruto. He then turned bad, or unconcious, he spent too much time with Orochimaru.

I don't think Madara wanted Sasuke to attack Konoha, just to be able to control him at his own will (otherwise Sasuke, he may have thought, will kill me as I'm also responsible).

I think Madara told half truths, half lies. I'm still wondering if it is true that the Uchiha's were being kept apart by the village, or if the Uchihas, who where so proud, decided not to get mixed with the rest. And I'm pretty sure Madara summoned the fox 16 years ago.

I don't believe killing your own clan is good either...It's like a situation where you're asked to sacrifice your family or protect the country that's killing them. The logic is flawed.

I could say this:

1 - Itachi was a good ninja: cold hearted, followed orders

2 - Itachi was a bad person, except for Sasuke, and maybe Naruto

Nahh, if he wanted Konoha destroyed, he would have just done it.
He had more than a few opportunities.
Plus, if he wanted Konoha destroyed, than why didn't he just team up with Madara?
They both would have had the same goals, they're both some of the strongest ninja in the universe, what would stop them?

I believe what Madara said about Itachi was true, but I think in some of the things he told Sasuke, he stretched the truth a tad to get him to attack Konoha. IMO, the elders did not have Itachi kill the Uchihas, I do not believe under ANY circumstances the 3rd would have stood for senseless slaughter of innocents (not all Uchihas was in on this coup)

I do think Danzo had a lot to do with it, and I also think Madara had Itachi do it because he made a deal with Itcahi that he would leave the village along if Itachi did this....

Yea, probably, but I don't ever recall them bringing the 3rd's name into it.
I thought it was Danzo, and two other people [Can't remember who..]
Surely, Sarutobi wouldn't do that, unless there was some kind of Veto power that the elders had.
