pein would win because the only reason naruto won was because pein was only trying to catch naruto not kill him the yahiko pein was weak for most of the match then pwned him as soon as he got his powers back plus naruto had a cheap shot on the bombing pein had intel on him from kakashi and jiraiya saved by hinata used the nine talied fox and had a pep talk with the 4th. counting all that it really wasn't a fair fight for pein.

after reading this i agree with it, the sage toads are basically sages and they did practically nothing on their own

Ok i have to say you are turning things in Pain's favor, If you want it fair then Pain knows nothing about Sage Mode (Sage tech) has no clue of what the 2 elder frogs are capable of, and it is a 6 vs 1 from the start, not like in his fight with Jyraia.
It is hard to tell, with the genjutsu the 2 frogs use, Naruto could win... cause he would just kill all of the 6 bodies.
Pain has more chances but even so Naruto could still win.

Naruto didn't defeat Nagato in fight either way. He talked him to death.

Eh, it is really a toss up. Pain is an adult ninja with the Rinnengan, and it is kind of ridiculous to say Naruto could be better than him.

That said, I think the Kyuubi argument is best.
Kyuubi knows if Naruto dies, it dies, so it would not let him lose. Sage mode, as we have seen (with Jaraiya and Naruto), could take out a few paths, no problem.

Shinra Tensei is a problem, but, again, maybe the Kyuubi could survive it.
