Dan Brown - The lost symbol

I loved this book, i couldnt stop reading it, no part of it was boring for me. What i liked the most was the symbolism of the Masonic pyramid and how many secrets it held on its own.

      What did you guys think?

I read it a while ago, so I don't remember much.
But compared to Brown's other books, i.e, Angels and Demons, Deception Point, Digital Fortress...I didn't like it that much...
It had Brown's usual elements; the surprises, upbeat...
Perhaps it was the theme/general topic, but I also felt it was kinda slow (lol, I know I just said upbeat, but I felt some parts of the story were given too slowly, to the point where I was annoyed.).

Yeh it was a bit anoying in parts like what they were striving to achieve and getting to peter, but overall it was one of the best to read.

Lost Symbol was good, but not as good as Angels and Demons or Deception Point.
Typical writing of Brown's, by all means enjoyable.

I didn't even bother watching the entire Angels/Demons film...
The fact that Tom Hanks was playing Robert Langdon had already spoiled my mood to watch it.

I read angels/demons before watching Da Vinci, so I was so used to Robert's character already. I just didn't picture him like Tom Hanks, or like his acting style.
So when both movies came out, I wasn't enthusiastic while watching...
I guess that's the horrible part about reading something and then watching the movie.

Edit: I bet LOTR could be an exception to that though. ^^

I agree, Robert langdon is supposed to be a 6 foot swim champ built like an athelete. He's so NOT tom hanks. Yeah, and loved the book though it was a little stretched at the end with the whole ominous history of the US capitol and all.

Re: Dan Brown - The lost symbol

I thought the book very very good throughout, although I wasn't a fan of the ending. I prefer Angels and Demons over this one.

My father in law mentioned that this book taked about the symbols within the denver airport, but I dont remember reading any of that. I go through that airport every now and then when I go on ski trips so its fun to looks for that stuff. I've never been to Washington D.C. but now I think it would be cool to check it out and see everything mentioned in the book. FYI, if you are going through security and you see a bronze statue of a man, look about 5-10 feet behind it and you'll see a circle with a pyramid in it on the floor. apparently the airport also has a mason capstone. Theres also many freaky murals around th baggage claim area. Definitly worth going a little early to see all the cool stuff

Yup, I hope Hobbit turns out well.
      lol, Keanu Reeves .
...I always pictured Robert to be a really anxious/nervous looking person by the way he thinks...
      um.
lol, how about Johnny Depp ? A YOUNG one, without the beard/long hair, and dressed in Robert's description/clothing. Make him look somehow professor-like.
He's a good actor, so I think he could do it, but the role itself doesn't suit his style. That's who I can think of at the moment.
