I think Ten Ten was the one responsible for eliminating the lightning kakuzu by using the banana fan. It will only be possible for Asuma to eliminate the lightning kakuzu if Kishi made a few mistakes, which are:
1. http://www.narutobase.net/manga/Naruto/533 on the top right corner we can see that behind chouji is a tall huge solid rocks, so how could asuma's jutsu got passed the rocks?
2. made chouji way more stronger than kakuzu. Asuma used the same jutsu twice, the 1st time it hit chouji in close range and still it's not destroying chouji. How could the same jutsu that has to pass through solid rocks could possibly destroyed the lightning kakuzu at a faraway distance?
3. Asuma also much stronger than Kakusu.

Only mangastream has translated the sentence as "nice, he took out the lightning monster!"

Its like...i dont know naruto doing a rasengan with one hand haha its just unexpected and itshows how much trainig he has made... but personaly i didnt like his wings they were...mmm too barbie?? i dont know las wings he had were more menly you know.....

Prediction: Chouji beats up Asuma and he gets sealed then the Ino-Shika-Cho group help fight Kakuzu. After Asuma gets taken down Chouji collapses due to all of the chakra he wasted trying to take down a relatively easy character to beat. Then Shikamaru hands him a bag of potato chips and they have a picnic or maybe just both sides take a snack break because hey even ninjas need food right?

I found this chapter to be rather frustrating until the end, it took Choiji like two or three chapters to snap out of it.
The ending was of the finest bad-assary, looking forward for the next chapter.

Anyways, Chouji destroys Asuma with wing hax, Ino-Shika-Cho does it again, unless Kishi decides to make these fights a bit longer in which it could be interesting. Then it will pan to the situation of Kakuzu, or possibly Gaara.
