Unfortunately, no profile other than the winning one should get an award this month. It bugs me too. 90 people just did not put enough effort in this. We keep seeing the same profiles submitted, the same ideas, only one picture changed etc. It's stated in the rules of the contest, we give as many awards as are deserved; no more no less.

Well your profile was decent, but so were another 2. Still, not good enough for an award, sorry.

The rest of the post is not directed to you, but to all contestants.

-Avoid the use of one color only. As in: your whole profile black, with no gif images and just white font.

-Avoid lines in the primary content areas.

-Use colors that compliment each other.

-DO NOT USE small pictures in the backgrounds. Whenever I see a repeated not abstract image I immediately close the tab.

-Use sparkles or gif images within reason. A profile that flashes from top to bottom is definitely hard to look at.

-Brighter profiles are harder to make; I appreciate the effort and If I have to chose between 2 equally good profiles I will give the award to the bright one.

-Only combining abstract pictures without a general theme or a somewhat 'statement' will not give you #1. Maybe a place in the top 3 but not the first place.

Might add more in the future or make a guide. We'll see.
