[Theory] Byakugan with/without handseal

Disclaimer: This theory was not thought of by me. I ran into it on another Naruto site and thought to show it here. Clear thoughts on topic will be appreciated

i'll say it outright... there normally IS a difference between "the byakugan with a hand-seal" and "the byakugan without hand-seal".

USUALLY, when the byakugan is used without a hand seal... we see the typical byakugan user, who sees certain range and nigh 360-degree radius, with pentrating vision that can view the chakra network and the tenketsu (if their byakugan is developed/strong enough).

However,
when the byakugan is used WITH a hand seal... we see things can be somewhat different.

it's evident that, typically, when the byakugan user uses a hand seal they're enhancing the strength of the byakugan's vision in some way - they're increasing the range and/or strength of their vision in some way, shape, or form...

we know that the range of the byakugan CAN be expanded...
not only have we seen it in action and seen it said in the databook (that they can use it to see over long distances) but we also saw hinata flat say she expanded it

Hinata appears to use a seal almost every time she uses the byakugan

Take note that all those times (except one), hinata is using the byakugan for it's searching/tracking/spying/etc purposes. and we also KNOW hinata's byakugan is not as strong as neji's... yet she can see such a distance. knowing what we already do, this should imply the use of the handseal increased her range. but i'll continue on with the other evidence.

Now lets look at neji using hand seals with the byakugan...

TYPICALLY, when Neji uses a handseal with it we see that this is the time when his byakugan is used to see distant ranges and such.

-clearly... he used the byakugan and stretched it vision to see further.

-clearly... neji expands his bubble vision this time. the panel-by-panel allows us to really understand that the range is being expanded.

this is another example of neji using the seal again... but this time he doesn't appear to increase his vision's range of anything like that. this time he may have been increasing it's ability to penetrate with his vision.

-we see here that neji could indeed see what was taking place in the cave, THROUGH THE BARRIER around it... but he just couldn't describe it.
...in the past, he tried looking through a barrier and it as he said:

"it's DIFFICULT to see through"
Note that, he didn't say he couldn't see through it... just that it was "difficult" to do so.
this implies that he could see through it somewhat, but not clearly. well, in part two, he sees through a more sophisticate barrier, while he's using a handseal. THIS COULD JUST BE A COINCIDENCE, but i believe it's not just because neji's grown more. i do believe that seal enhanced his penetrative ability.

In Conclusion
hand seals are typically used in conjunction with the byakugan when the user is enhancing the visual abilities of the byakugan. if i'm not mistaken, hand seals, help with manipulation and control of chakra... which makes this make even more sense.

I feel this could be the reason as to why Neji's distance that he can see up to which is 800 meters compared to hinata's 10,000 meters.

Do any of the Uchiha ever use handseals to activate their Sharingan? Its known that Kakashi has to build up chakra for Kamui and does it with hand seals. But I dont rember if he ever uses hand seals to activate his 3 tomoe sharingan does he?

And What about Ao he used a hand seal to activate his dojuitsu right? Does that put him on par with Hinata, or what?

and also i dont think this is that big of a deal. like how many times have we seen Naruto do shadow clones without hand seals or Sasuke use sharingan without hand seals lol. i think a byakugan is the same as a byakugan. why would Kishi worry about small minor details like difference between hand seal and non hand seal byakugans lool
