Was the only reason Madara wanted Kabuto to show him Edo Tensei so he could copy it?

"That The user can memorize ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu with near perfect accuracy, allowing the user to use the techniques as their own"

Madara looked very observant whilst Kabuto performed the technique, Maybe he did copy it as a defence to fight Kabuto and his Edo's should he have to.

Well, Kabuto is untrustworthy, so of course, Madara will take every opportunity to know whatever he can about him, so that if the time comes, he will be prepared in a confrontation. It may not just be for copying, but also just for info/intel?
The fact that Kabuto was willing to tell him though, was that he didn't feel threatened by saying this information. We all know, he's got stuffs up his sleeve (and secrets). (Which means, Madara too, is aware that this information may not hurt Kabuto, if he was so willing to tell?)

i kind of assumed madara is going to use edo tensei later, maybe kabuto wanted to show him how to use it and his secret weapon jutsu is going to turn madara's summons againest him when he does.

But at the same time, I can't imagine Madara really using edo tensei...to me thats not his style, but I could be wrong...

Why didnt he just copy Orochimaru, or the 2nd hokage they were alive at the same time. Orochimaru/Kabuto knows enough about what Madara was doing to implant Yamato, and supress his powers wth? But Madara didnt know that Orochimaru had Edo Tensi, or that the 2nd hokage was its creator and its limits ect... the 2/3(?) kages some of the new about it, but Madara in his travels and time in hideing was like umm whats this ? Sounds like a really weak excuse, when hes trying to controll the planet, return to his former self, and validate the Uchihas existance.

i think he might use it to control sasuke further. madara could say he could revive the whole clan by using konoha citizens as the basis of the technque.
